Sorry, but you can’t spend years calling feminists ‘bigots’ and then suddenly claim to care about women’s safety.

If there was a prize for brass neck, the Guardian would win it hands down. After it was revealed that Wayne Couzens’ vile misogynistic behaviour included acts of indecent exposure, the Guardian started wringing its hands over the scourge of flashing and the terrible impact it can have on the women subjected to it. ‘Women face “epidemic” of indecent exposure’, it said in a frontpage splash on Saturday. This is the same Guardian, the very same one, which just a few weeks ago devoted a huge amount of journalistic resources to trying to rubbish an alleged act of indecent exposure. The same Guardian which decided to cast doubt, and aspersions, on a woman of colour who had raised the alarm about a bloke allegedly exposing himself to women and children.

… Is it a coincidence, by the way, that four officers of the Federal Reserve have been outed for trading stocks and bonds in a pattern that looks an awful lot like front-running the Fed’s own “guidance?” Robert S. Kaplan, head of the Dallas Fed, and Eric Rosengren, head of the Boston Fed announced their “early retirements” last week over stock-trading ethics issues. Fed Vice-chair Richard Clarida’s financial disclosure statement indicated that he dumped millions of dollars in a Pimco bond fund and jammed them into a Pimco stock fund the day before Fed Chair Jerome Powell announced emergency interventions to battle the Covid-19 epidemic in early 2020. Mr. Clarida was involved in deliberations leading to the change in fed policy. And Richmond Fed president Thomas Barkin is under scrutiny for voting to bail out the corporate bond market while sitting on a portfolio of corporate bonds. In his past role as CFO of McKinsey & Co, a global consulting firm, Barkin advised Purdue Pharma L.P. on maximizing sales of its painkiller OxyContin, the infamous scourge of the US opioid epidemic.

Islamists Celebrate Death of Swedish Mohammed Cartoonist Lars Vilks

Self-confessed Muslims on social media have celebrated the fatal car crash that left Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks and two police officers dead on Sunday.

Users on social media platform Twitter expressed joy at the news that Lars Vilks, who drew cartoons of the Islamic Prophet Mohammed in 2007 and has lived under police protection since, was killed in a crash. Mr Vilk’s car, in which he was travelling with two police officers, was hit head-on by a heavy goods truck.

Middle Easterners need to take responsibility for their brethren.

… From the Western perspective, the open invitation of 2015-16 by the leaders of Germany and Sweden, allowing into their countries an estimated 1 million and 100,000 unvetted migrants, respectively, from Syria and elsewhere, turned out badly. Westerners watched helplessly as Middle Easterners arrived by plane, boat, train, bus, car, and foot through the beaches, fields, and railroad stations of Europe. They then witnessed those large numbers bring disease, resist assimilation, impose Islamic laws, engage in a crime wave, perpetrate the Cologne taharrush (mass sexual assault), and execute jihadi attacks in Paris and Brussels. They uneasily accepted that their societies turned into quasi-surveillance states.

Canada should have prosecuted Muslim terrorist who was ‘voice of ISIS,’ lawyer says

A Canadian ISIS member caught in Syria and flown to the United States to stand trial should have been prosecuted in Canada, a lawyer representing his family said Monday.

“If there is evidence against Canadians who are being arbitrarily detained in northeast Syria, they should be brought home and prosecuted,” Lawrence Greenspon told Global News.

“I don’t think we should be relying on the United States to repatriate Canadians in this way.”

 

In Canada he’d receive a slap on the wrist, in the US he may never see another day as a free man.  He’s in the right place.

An expansive federal law proposal to combat harmful online content is not only “fundamentally flawed” but also violates Canadians’ freedom of expression and privacy rights, warn internet law experts, who are calling on the Liberals to overhaul their approach.

The main problem with the so-called “online harms” proposal lies in its ability to filter content and block websites, which endangers the “survival of a free and open internet in Canada and beyond,” reads a submission to the Department of Canadian Heritage by the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law.

Drivers clash with Insulate Britain activists blocking three London roads

Insulate Britain activists have staged three morning roadblocks in central London, leading to dozens of arrests and confrontations with drivers stuck in heavy traffic at the height of rush-hour.

The climate activist group said 54 supporters had blocked Hanger Lane in north London, the Blackwall tunnel in south-east London, and Wandsworth Bridge in south-west London, as they began a fourth week of their campaign for government action on home insulation.

Frustration at the road blocks led to confrontations with drivers. In a video shared by LBC one woman cried as she pleaded with protesters, telling them she needed to get to her sick mother.

Islamist Terrorism Flourishing Under the Taliban

As seen this morning with the bombing of the Eidgah Mosque in Kabul, leaving a reported 8 people killed and 20 wounded, the prospects of Afghanistan once more becoming a safe haven that can be used by Islamist terrorist groups to launch deadly attacks against the West have risen dramatically in the wake of US President Joe Biden’s disastrous decision to withdraw American forces from the country. Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on Saturday through its Nasheer news agency on Telegram.

Part of Mr Biden’s justification for ending America’s 20-year-old involvement in the conflict was that the Taliban had learnt the lessons of its past involvement with Islamist terror groups like al-Qaeda, and would therefore be unlikely to allow them to operate freely in territory under Taliban control.
