A man facing federal charges in the alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says there never would have been a plot without FBI involvement and wants to know who those 12 informants were after finding out that some were paid “snitches.”

BuzzFeed News reports that at least a dozen informants were involved with the FBI, working with the six defendants to plot, train, and do reconnaissance on the unpopular governor. Whitmer has been especially draconian in her COVID lockdowns, as PJ Media has reported.

Afghanistan: Taliban flag raised above border crossing with Pakistan

The Taliban are reported to have raised their flag above a key border post between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and claim it is now under their control.

Videos being shared on social media show the white flag fluttering above the Spin Boldak crossing near Kandahar.

Afghan officials have denied the post has fallen, although pictures on social media show the militants chatting to Pakistani border guards.

The BBC has been told the Taliban took the border crossing with no resistance.

Suspect sought after people set on fire inside Ossington subway station

Police have released a surveillance camera image of a suspect wanted after several people were lit on fire in a Toronto subway station this week.

At about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, police say they were called to Ossington Subway Station for a disturbance inside.

Investigators say a man holding a butane lighter approached three different people in the station and attempted to light their clothes on fire.

Ford government drops curriculum language that called math racist

The Ford government has quietly deleted a section of the Grade 9 math curriculum that said math was subjective and racist and requires a decolonial approach in how it is taught.

News of the radical language in the curriculum was first reported by the Sun on Saturday. At the time, the government defended the language that appeared in the preamble to the revised curriculum.

But by late Tuesday, it had been removed.

US Authorities charge 4 in Iranian plot to kidnap U.S.-based journalist Masih Alinejad and Unnamed US & Canadian based individuals

An Iranian intelligence officer and three alleged members of an Iranian intelligence network have been charged in Manhattan with plotting to lure a U.S.-based journalist and human rights activist from New York to Iran, authorities said Tuesday.

An indictment in Manhattan federal court alleges that the plot was part of a wider plan to lure three individuals in Canada and a fifth person in the United Kingdom to Iran. Victims were also targeted in the United Arab Emirates, authorities said.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment. State media in Tehran did not immediately acknowledge the alleged plot, though Iran has become more aggressive in recent years about seizing opposition journalists and dissidents abroad amid tensions over its tattered nuclear deal.
