It’s one year since George Floyd was murdered. Since Derek Chauvin forced his knee on to Floyd as he gasped for air and cried for his mother. Since that image of a cavalier cop and a desperate black man was beamed around the world, horrifying everyone who saw it. And it’s one year since the killing of Floyd started to morph into something else. Since it started to become a symbol, a weapon even, which was then marshalled to a broader cause. We might call it the revenge of the elites – the exploitation of Floyd’s death to reprimand populism and to further institutionalise the regressive, controlling politics of identity.

All New York City employees are now required to sit through a remarkably predictable video explaining the creative nuances of gender identity, as part of mandated sexual harassment training.

The instructional footage is part of an online sexual harassment prevention training module created by the NYC Commission on Human Rights. All city employees are required by law to take the instructional course.

Children tell of neglect, filth and fear in Biden asylum camps

The US has a vast system of detention sites scattered across the country, holding more than 20,000 migrant children. In a special investigation, the BBC has uncovered allegations of cold temperatures, sickness, neglect, lice and filth, through a series of interviews with children and staff.

It was midnight on the Rio Grande – the imposing river that forms the border between Texas and Mexico – and lights began to flash on the Mexican side. Voices could be heard in the darkness. Figures emerged, got into a small raft, and began to cross the river.

As the raft appeared on the US side, the faces of the migrants became visible. More than half of them were children. Over March and April, more than 36,000 children crossed into the US unaccompanied by an adult. This was a record high for recent years.

Auditor finds national PPE stockpile unprepared for pandemic, despite warnings

Canada’s National Emergency Strategic Stockpile was unprepared to deal with the pandemic due to “long-standing unaddressed problems” that had been known for more than a decade when COVID-19 hit, according to the Auditor General.

Auditor General Karen Hogan reviewed the national stockpile and the government’s effort to purchase personal protective equipment and found the stockpile was not well equipped to help in the pandemic.

Five held after BLM activist Sasha Johnson randomly shot in drug dealer melee: Party still trying to gin up assassination plot

… Police stated yesterday that Miss Johnson was shot in the head in a ‘melee’ that also saw a fellow partygoer knifed when a gang of four young black men stormed into a Peckham garden with 30 people inside and opened fire.

Commander Alison Heydari made an appeal for anyone who knows the identity of the gunmen to come forward – but insisted that there was no evidence the BLM activist was the true target.

In a lengthy response to the statement, the Taking the Initiative Party accused the police force of ‘exercising damage control’ and dismissing death threats made to Miss Johnson in the weeks before she was shot.

‘The statement that there is nothing to suggest that Sasha was the victim of a targeted attack is entirely presumptuous, not taking into account that a bullet being shot into someone’s head is entirely too accurate and precise to be an accidental shot.’

Even a bullet is capable of a racist trajectory!

It has taken 17 months since the new coronavirus supposedly erupted, but the lab leak hypothesis has finally come in from the cold. At first it was dismissed as a crazy conspiracy theory promoted by ranting right-wingers and nasty Sinophobes; a stance inflamed by some of the wilder claims made about the deliberate release of bio-weapons and the determination of some scientists to assist the Chinese cover-up. But now an increasing number of credible scientific voices are calling for a full investigation into whether  this global catastrophe was the result of some kind of human error at a Wuhan laboratory.

“We write as U.S. non-proliferation experts and former government officials and advisors with related responsibilities to express our concern about your government’s financial support of Moltex — a startup company that proposes to reprocess CANDU spent fuel to recover its contained plutonium for use in molten-salt-cooled reactors.”

SMRs are one of the very few good ideas from the LPC though the practice of government picking economic winners and losers is a whole nother barrel of plutonium.

US experts are against it? When it comes to Canada’s energy development aren’t they always?

Far-left activists claim responsibility for Tesla factory site fire in Germany

German police are investigating whether a fire that broke out overnight at the construction site of Tesla’s first European Gigafactory had a political motive, after far-left activists claimed responsibility.

The fire at the site in Grünheide in the eastern state of Brandenburg early on Wednesday morning damaged several power cables, said a spokesperson for the LKA state criminal investigation office.

He said arson had not been ruled out and investigators were examining a letter that circulated on social media on Wednesday that claimed responsibility.

Even with a Deal, the Mullahs Will Pursue Nukes

The argument that negotiating and reaching a nuclear deal with the mullahs of Iran will curb their nuclear ambitions and prevent the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons is, sadly, a dangerous fantasy.

The nuclear deal has sunset clauses that soon remove restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program after the deal expires. In short, the nuclear deal, rather than preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, as it was falsely touted to do, in fact paves the way for Tehran to become a legitimized nuclear state after it concludes.
