Students have been evacuated after multiple bomb threats were made at Yale University.
The Ivy league university in New Haven, Connecticut sent out an alert at 2:35 pm on Friday.
Police received calls of bombs being placed in several Yale buildings, according to the alert.
Sometimes, something that’s right in front of you can escape your attention.
Over the past five years I’ve looked at countless student performance numbers, and almost always, my attention goes to the large percentages of students who are performing below grade level in reading, math, history, etc. I see these numbers as evidence of the failure of the current education system.
But a recent policy brief (titled “How Can So Many Students Be Invisible?) has brought something else to my attention—something equally, if not more, damning of the education system. It’s the fact that large percentages of American students are performing ABOVE grade level.
The CBC, with their new commitment to hard-hitting climate journalism, publishes an op-ed by a man who orders too much takeout and is therefore experiencing eco-anxiety because of all the plastic containers he has accumulated. While this particular CBC op-ed may be useless fluff, the concept of “climate anxiety” is worth delving into. Imperiled and “mad” Democrats slammed President Joe Biden on Wednesday after the catastrophic election that left the Democrat Party disoriented over the defeats in Virginia, New York State, New Jersey, and Texas.
To provide some context, for more than 12 minutes ADA Binger tried to get McGinnis to testify that Rosenbaum was already falling to the ground when Rittenhouse began shooting him–in other words, that Rittenhouse simply executed Rosenbaum by shooting him in the back when he was helplessly falling.
The actual exchange is in the video, so you can watch it for yourself, but a reasonable paraphrase would go something like this:
Binger: So Rittenhouse shot Rosenbaum, in the back, as he was falling, correct?
McGinnis: No, Rittenhouse didn’t fire until Rosenbaum charged and lunged at him.
Binger: So he shot him as he was falling?
McGinnis: No, not falling, lunging.
Binger: So you’re saying he shot him while he was falling?
McGinnis: No, that’s not my testimony. Lunging.
