Military Buildup In D.C. Makes No Sense, Unless They Know Something We Don’t

You don’t need 25,000 armed National Guard troops to protect an inauguration, and you certainly don’t need that and more to protect a mostly virtual inauguration.

The riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, likely could have been contained and people kept out of the building with a couple hundred more riot police, or maybe a few hundred.

The failure to have any semblance of adequate security, despite apparent FBI warnings of possible trouble, is one of the baffling aspects of that day. It’s why the Chief of the Capitol Police has resigned, and there needs to be a thorough investigation of how the Mayor of D.C. and others rejected requests for additional help.

Yet what is happening in D.C. now looks more like a military defensive posture than riot control or even an attempt to defend against small groups planning violence.

Music store fined: Family trying piano broke gathering limits

Here’s what happened: a family of three came to Gladys’ store to pick up guitar strings. The store had already closed for the day, but she let the family in to purchase the strings. The father mentioned he was also looking to buy a piano for his son.

Given that the piano he was eyeing was about $5,000, he wanted to try out the piano before purchasing it. His request was perfectly reasonable, and Gladys gave him permission to tickle the ivories.

That’s when someone who likely deserves the 2020 title of “Ultimate COVID-Karen” wandered over and looked inside the store window. You see, there is an individual who “patrols” the strip plaza where Excel Music is located, dutifully ensuring that all the merchants play by the ‘rules.’

State school standards banish lessons about World War I, II, Holocaust, Civil War

Replacing those significant history topics will be “systemic racism,” how democracy has “excluded certain groups,” an “awareness” of “the LGBTQ+ community” and how the disenfranchisement of freed blacks during Reconstruction connects to “persistent discrimination and inequity” today.

Some Democrats in Congress are worried their colleagues might kill them

After last week’s deadly assault on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump, members of Congress are expressing something once unthinkable: that some of their own colleagues may be endangering their lives. Not in a rhetorical sense, but in a direct and immediate way.

They are floating the idea of a GOP purge.

Federal prisons on lockdown in run-up to Biden inauguration

All federal prisons in the United States have been placed on lockdown, with officials aiming to quell any potential violence that could arise behind bars as law enforcement prepares for potentially violent protests across the country in the run-up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday.

The lockdown at more than 120 federal Bureau of Prisons facilities took effect at 12 a.m. Saturday, according to an email to employees from the president of the union representing federal correctional officers.

“In light of current events occurring around the country, and out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to secure all institutions,” the Bureau of Prisons said in a statement.

FUREY: Here are some COVID-19 facts not enough Canadians know

A curious phenomenon keeps happening to me: I will say a basic fact about COVID-19 on the radio, write it in a column or post it on social media and people will respond with total disbelief.

They’ve never heard the information before, even though it’ll be something medical experts are routinely saying. Some of them react with great surprise. Others plug their ears and refuse to admit that it’s true.

Canadian Doctor: The “Cure” for Covid is Roughly Ten Times Worse Than the Disease

Back in August, Revolver News published a groundbreaking exclusive study that concluded that COVID-19 lockdowns are ten times more deadly than the pandemic itself (more details below).

Now, a Canadian academic has published his own trailblazing study that confirms Revolver’s analysis.

New advocacy group combats anti-Canadian oil divestment movement

The upstart InvestNow was launched in December by former Toronto Stock Exchange market intelligence head Gina Pappano, with a mandate to combat energy sector divestment and promote investment in it.

In an interview on The Andrew Lawton Show, Pappano said her organization hopes to raise awareness on why the activists seeking to keep capital away from the energy sector are off-base both economically and environmentally.

Tucker Carlson: Democrats Promoting ‘a New Version of Reconstruction’ in the Name of Unity

Friday on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson questioned Democrats’ push for so-called unity, which he suggested modeled conformity.

Carlson noted the evolution of President-elect Joe Biden’s candidacy from his fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire Primary last year to what he is now on the eve of inauguration.

Hoaxed: The FBI continues leaks warning about 50 state ‘pro-Trump uprisings’ that are not actually happening

The info op continues. Another “FBI bulletin,” which warns of the dangers of claimed imminent pro-Trump revolts, has hit the press.

This latest FBI bulletin — which, similar to the first bulletin, was leaked to the press prior to the FBI even discussing the “urgent” matter — warns of “substantial,” imminent dangers to the public.

The left’s vindictiveness: From erasing truth to criminalizing it

Typically, when I noodle around the idea for a column I choose a subject of interest and start gathering links to relevant articles as I come across them. I seldom go looking for links; most often I just come across them as I peruse the news.

So when I decided to write about revenge – specifically, how the left is waging an all-out war on conservatives – I duly began gathering links. Imagine my surprise when I sat down to write this column and realized I had nine pages of links about leftist revenge … most of them gathered just in this latest blood-bath of a week.

Biden plans to offer pathway to citizenship to 11 million illegal immigrants in early days of Presidency

According to new report from the Los Angeles Times, President-elect Joe Biden plans to offer a pathway to citizenship to 11 million illegal immigrants in his early days of his Presidency.

The LA Times cited un-named immigrant rights activists in communication with the Biden-Harris transition team.

Per the report “the bill also would provide a shorter pathway to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of people with temporary protected status and beneficiaries of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals who were brought to the U.S. as children, and probably also for certain front-line essential workers, vast numbers of whom are immigrants.”
