The self-proclaimed president of Afghanistan and one of two men leading the anti-Taliban resistance has made a direct appeal to Canadians — and by extension the West — not to give up on his country or its people.

Amrullah Saleh, a Tajik leader and vice-president in the democratically-elected government of President Ashraf Ghani, delivered a recorded speech to an Ottawa-based think-tank, the MacDonald-Laurier Institute.

The audio remarks and transcript were released early Friday.

He was part of the kleptocracy and boy is he missing the grift.

Former Afghan official says Taliban is killing children and the elderly, posts graphic photos of reported victims

The man who was recently the interior minister for Afghanistan under now-former President Ashraf Ghani alleged on Twitter this week that the Taliban is currently killing Afghan children and elderly citizens. He also inncluded graphic photos of purported child victims of the terror group.

12 US troops among several killed in Kabul airport suicide attacks

 

At least 12 U.S. service members were killed in a pair of suicide attacks outside the Kabul airport in Afghanistan, including 11 Marines and one Navy medic, two U.S. officials told the Associated Press.

THIRD EXPLOSION heard from direction of Kabul airport

Another explosion was heard from the direction of Kabul’s airport, RT’s senior correspondent Murad Gazdiev reported on Thursday. This comes as dozens have been killed and injured from a double blast in the airport earlier.
