Cuomo’s fall raises questions for media

The political fortunes of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) have dropped like a stone — and his decline is sharpening hard questions about the favorable image he enjoyed in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by two former staff members, Lindsey Boylan and Charlotte Bennett. New York’s attorney general, Letitia James (D), is overseeing an investigation into those allegations.

In addition, Cuomo has come under significant political pressure following the revelation that his administration withheld information about the number of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes.

Residents of Toronto neighbourhood represented by NDP Poverty & Homelessness Critic upset about plans to turn parking lot into housing for homeless

Community members of an East York neighbourhood are up in arms about the City of Toronto‘s plans to replace a parking lot with 64 units of affordable housing for the region’s homeless population.

“This area is the children’s recreational hub for the whole of East York and there’s a lot of safety issues and concerns that we have,” said community member Mark Battenberg.

The parking lot is located on Cedarvale Avenue near Woodbine Avenue and O’Connor Drive.

Beaches East York’ NDP MP is Rima Berns-McGown the party’s critic for Poverty & Homelessness. Federally they voted Liberal, of course.

Student shamed as ‘disrespectful’ for choosing ‘racist’ Candace Owens as ‘black trailblazer’ for project, now leaving school
A Virginia student is leaving her high school after staff failed to do anything about a mass email blasting her for choosing to highlight conservative pundit Candace Owens as a “black trailblazer.”

Students at St. Margaret’s High School in Tappahannock, Virginia were assigned this month by the Black Student Union to present projects on “black trailblazers” in honor of Black History Month. Julia Saville, a junior, chose Owens.

‘I’m Not to Judge’: Anti-Keystone XL Activist Dismissed Pedophilia Allegation Against Colleague

A leading Minnesota environmental activist dismissed accusations that one of her top organizers sexually assaulted a minor, even as she admitted in private messages and legal proceedings that the organizer “probably did have sex” with a 15-year-old boy.

In a slew of newly revealed court filings, Honor the Earth cofounder Winona LaDuke—a political ally of top Minnesota Democrats such as Rep. Ilhan Omar and Attorney General Keith Ellison—acknowledged that the group’s community organizer “probably” had sex with a Native American minor as a camp counselor. But LaDuke dismissed the incident, arguing that the organizer, Michael Dahl, engaged in a “consensual” relationship that she was “not to judge.”

A picture from Iwo Jima

It’s February. The star-spangled kneelers of the NFL have given way to their imitators in the NBA, and soon some millionaire dugout squatters of baseball will be adding their insults to the flag they hate.

Today is February 23, an otherwise unremarkable day in history. The first Gutenberg Bible was printed, the first Salk polio vaccine shot administered, and Mississippi was allowed back in the Union. But nothing worth a holiday or a greeting card.

Cornell Offers a Racially Segregated Rock Climbing Course, Then Scrubs Its Website to Hide Their Racism

Segregated Rock Climbing

Cornell University is very woke. They’re so woke that they offered a rock climbing course for BIPOC students only. BIPOC, for those of you unwoke, stands for black, Indigenous, and people of color — a catchall for everyone oppressed by white people.

“Believe me, there’s no racist like a hard-Left racist”

Believe me, there’s no racist like a hard-Left racist: After a charity supposedly fighting for equality trolled CALVIN ROBINSON with a vile historical trope, he reveals the insults he often receives from left-wingers

After the initial shock and revulsion wore off, I felt oddly glad this week that a prominent Left-wing anti-racism charity had decided publicly to hurl a vile racist slur at me.

At last, I thought, people are going to hear about the abuse that is doled out to centre-Right individuals like me all the time, almost always from black and ethnic minority figures on the hard Left.

They often call me ‘Bounty’ or ‘coconut’ — sneers implying that I am somehow ‘brown on the outside, white on the inside’.

White House spokesman TJ Ducklo suspended without pay for threatening reporter

TJ Dicklo

White House spokesman TJ Ducklo has been suspended without pay for threatening to “destroy” a Politico journalist for reporting about his relationship.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced the one-week suspension on Friday, saying Ducklo has apologized to the reporter, Tara Palmeri, and “is the first to acknowledge this is not the standard of behavior set out by the President.”

Imagine if this had been a Trump spokesman.

Sex on the (Washed-Out) Brain

What we are observing in our feminized and “socially correct” culture today is a prurient obsession with sex—in particular, an inverse preoccupation with matters sexual, as if exemplifying the puritanical perversity of condemning that which one secretly desires. It’s as if we are now living in some febrile Na’vi world, our progressivist reformers having embarked on a vendetta against sexual desire and romantic love as felt and practiced by normal men and women. Jakob Burckhardt’s “terrible simplifcateurs” and concupiscent apologists proliferate among us in their myriads.

Is AOC Exaggerating Her ‘Near Death’ Experience at the Capitol?

Is AOC Exaggerating Her ‘Near Death’ Experience at the Capitol?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made headlines earlier this week for her dramatic narrative about the riot at the Capitol. But her story may not be all that it seems.

…Scary stuff, right? Well, according to Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), Ocasio-Cortez is full of it. Mace says that her office is two doors down from AOC’s and that “insurrectionists never stormed our hallway.”

John Kerry Accepted Environmental Award In Iceland After Arriving In Private Jet

“I understand that you came here with a private jet. Is that an environmental way to travel?” Grímsson asked Kerry, Fox News reported. Kerry explained it as a necessity for “somebody like me” and touted his career-long efforts in fighting climate change, citing the Paris Climate Accord as an example, which Biden re-entered the U.S. into through an executive order on Jan. 20.

“If you offset your carbon — it’s the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle,” Kerry told Grímsson

AOC’s body politics: The congresswoman uses a sexual assault claim as a political cudgel

AOC’s body politics: The congresswoman uses a sexual assault claim as a political cudgel

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is no stranger to attention. The second-term congresswoman was the second most talked-about politician in 2019, just behind then-President Donald Trump. AOC loves to frequently jump on livestream videos to talk directly to her fans and voters, whether while she’s making macaroni, building furniture, or playing a wildly popular multiplayer game. It was during one of these Instagram livestreams on Monday night that she committed perhaps her gravest sin yet as a politician.

It’s weird, she abused herself. #Itoo
