Sabrina Maddeaux: If Facebook whistleblower was Canadian, she may never have come forward

What former Facebook data scientist Frances Haugen said was far less surprising than the fact she said it at all. The whistleblower made headlines when she testified before U.S. senators that Facebook knowingly operates products that “harm children, stoke division and weaken our democracy.”

Not so sure about that, Haugen’s totalitarian leanings match nicely with the Trudeau Liberals desire for censorship.

China condemns Canada, U.S. for sending warships through Taiwan Strait

The Chinese military on Sunday condemned Canada and the United States for each sending a warship through the Taiwan Strait last week, saying they were threatening peace and stability in the region.

China claims democratically ruled Taiwan as its own territory and has mounted repeated air force missions into Taiwan’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ) over the past year, provoking anger in Taipei.

China sent about 150 aircraft into the zone over a four-day period beginning on Oct. 1 in a further heightening of tensions between Beijing and Taipei that has sparked concern internationally.

Why government employees may want to ask for a pay cut

SecondStreet.org recently asked governments across the country a simple question – when was the last time you cut pay for your employees?

The question followed many news stories in Canada about businesses struggling during the pandemic and having no choice but to cut employee pay – movie chain Cineplex, the Winnipeg Free Press, Chrysler, Canadian Football League teams, energy giant Cenovus and countless others.

Adm. Art McDonald letter to senior military officials ‘shocking,’ says Gen. Eyre

A letter sent by Adm. Art McDonald to senior military officials claiming he has been exonerated on an allegation of sexual assault and should be immediately reinstated is “shocking,” says Canada’s acting top soldier.

In a letter sent by Gen. Wayne Eyre to senior staff and shared with Global News, the acting chief of the defence staff responded to the letter sent by McDonald, who was placed on indefinite leave by the government amid an increasingly public battle to return to the top post.

New ‘Buy American’ plan is alarming the auto sector — and the federal government

For months now, a legislative proposal inching its way through the U.S. Congress has been stoking consternation across the border.

Canadian policy-makers and businesses have been warily eyeing Buy American proposals designed to shift auto production to the U.S.

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said during a trip this week to Washington that she raised some of those concerns with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

Scandal, Embezzlement Accusations As Canada Sends Billions In Foreign Aid

According to the Liberal government’s own data, Canada’s foreign aid budgets involve transferring funds to the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and African Development Bank.

From 2003 to 2020, the World Bank’s Doing Business Report(DBR) was generally seen as a trusted measure of how business is conducted around the globe. Yet, according to former World Bank senior manager Paul Cadario, there has been controversy about the DBR’s methodology since its inception. China is a major shareholder of the World Bank and therefore has considerable financial leverage over it.

“The DBR was discontinued this year , after data irregularities in its 2018 and 2020 editions suggested that China, as well as a few other autocracies, were given unfair bumps.”

In other words, a discovery of corruption within the ranks. It is within this context that Cultural Action Party review Liberal government foreign aid policy.

Dear America: Don’t Become Canada

An obviously aroused Justin Trudeau abandons all sense of decorum while prancing about at a Gay Pride event.

Canada was the first “woke nation” on the planet.

If you missed Canada’s election late last month, you can be forgiven. It ended just like the last two before it: with Justin Trudeau’s left-wing Liberal Party handedly beating out the Conservative opposition just as most predicted. Being the perennial party of choice for the financial and media elite in Toronto and Montreal, the Liberals have won a whopping 75 percent of Canada’s elections since 1900, making the country resemble a kind of one-party-state of sorts.
