Canada’s Next Elected Leaders: Let’s Be Global Citizens

Last week, a Canadian journalist tweeted that global issues don’t “tend to play big for Canadian voters.”

Before you accept that as fact, consider how much Canadian leaders actually prioritize those issues (or not) and whether it’s the classic chicken-or-the-egg question.

In other words, are Canadian leaders doing enough to elevate the international dimensions of the challenges the country faces among the public?

Ontario PC Party issues ultimatum to unvaccinated MPPs, gives until Thursday to get COVID-19 vaccine

An Ontario PC MPP, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Rebel News that all party MPPs suspected of not having been vaccinated against COVID-19 are being warned by party leaders that they have until Thursday to get the shot. Failing to do so, they face being kicked from the PC party caucus.

A contentious issue it is. As it would be for any social issue that could be branded an act of racism. Here we speak of a political circumstance untouched by mainstream media.

Is it an act of condemnation to elucidate the manner in which 3rd World immigration impacts Canadian politics? To do so may not involve criticism of politicians based upon ethnicity. All-Girls Robotics Team From Afghanistan Begging to Come to Canada: Report

Afghanistan’s all-girls robotics team is trying to escape the country and make it to Canada while the Taliban, known for its cruelty against women, continues to regain control over the nation.

“To talk to these girls and listen to them crying over the phone to be saved… Begging that the Canadians save them… These girls have a future—they deserve to have a future. They all want to go to college. They will not be able to do that if they remain in Afghanistan,” said human rights lawyer Kimberley Motley on CBC News Network.
