Independent Canadian MP Derek Sloan has called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s politicization of COVID-19 vaccines as a “criminal” election ploy.
“It’s clear that the Liberals will say or do anything to win a few votes and Justin Trudeau just a few months ago called vaccine passports a divisive issue. It is clear that they are willing to turn on a dime to anything, to gain them power,” Sloan told LifeSiteNews.
Speaking to reporters at a campaign stop in Winnipeg, where he announced new sick pay benefits, Trudeau said “protecting Canadians is job one of the government,” and Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole’s pledge to make the unvaccinated take rapid tests rather than shots is a “mistake” that threatens public health.
All five of Canada’s big banks will soon make vaccines mandatory for all staff who wish to return to the office, and those who don’t comply will have to agree to regular testing.
As reported on Wednesday, Trudeau shrugged off a question about rising inflation rates by giving a nonsensical answer that avoided answering the question directly.
While leading vaccines are still providing high levels of protection from COVID-19, the delta variant is proving their toughest adversary yet.

Holding an election during a pandemic is unfair to Canadians in remote communities. With Canada entering the fourth wave of COVID-19 thanks to the Delta variant and vaccinations plateauing, this election will not only be risky, but will diminish the voices of those who do not have the luxury of voting in person.
The unmitigated disaster, and tragedy, that the American withdrawal from Afghanistan has turned into will likely soon fade out of the news cycle. But the consequences of the disaster are likely to be long reaching, and spell trouble for Canada. An increasingly unreliable and inward looking America is a dangerous reality we need to quickly adjust to.
The refugees will include “particularly vulnerable” Afghans still in the country or who’ve already fled to neighboring states, which in addition to female leaders and government employees also comprises human rights defenders, persecuted minorities and journalists.
Rather than do what a true leader does – bring people together – Trudeau is seeking to turn Canadians against each other, demonize each other, and spread fear.
