Toronto hospitals close clinics, halt appointments due to COVID-19 vaccine shortages

Shortages of COVID-19 vaccines have forced two major Toronto health networks that serve some of the hardest-hit communities in the province to either ramp down or outright cancel appointments for shots.

The Scarborough Health Network (SHN) says it will be closing its Centennial College and Centenary hospital clinics Wednesday.

Dr. Lisa Salaman-Switzman, an emergency physician with SHN, said in a series of tweets the moves will result in the cancellation of about 10,000 appointments over the next several days.

CDC Warns Americans Against Travel to Canada, Even if They’re Vaccinated

“Because of the current situation in Canada, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants and should avoid all travel to Canada,” the website now reads. “If you must travel to Canada, get fully vaccinated before travel. All travelers should wear a mask, stay 6 feet from others, avoid crowds, and wash their hands.”

Wait, what? What do vaccines do? And what about airlines? And what about Roxham Rd?

Mayhem in Montreal: COVID-19 Riots Shake Canada

Some Canadians have had enough of the lockdowns.

While the United States dealt with yet another night of violent rioting in response to a police shooting in Minnesota, riots were also occurring in Montreal, for a different reason.

Montreal is no stranger to turmoil and rioting, but Sunday’s culprits were anti-lockdown protesters, not Quebecois nationalists. The protests were in response to a new 8 p.m curfew in the city as a result of increased community spread of COVID-19, with dissidents chanting “Freedom for the young.” It seems the French revolutionary spirit has not completely left the Montrealers; their actions included setting fires and smashing storefronts. There were seven arrests and over 100 citations for violation of public health rules.

BONOKOSKI: The COVID-19 news just keeps on getting worse

There is such a thing as a COVID Misery Index, developed by the brains at the non-partisan Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI), a think-tank that does the hard slog for those of us with lesser IQs.

Its latest index update, though, should surprise no one. The MLI has determined that “slow vaccinations have led to Canada’s excess death rate surging past the United States.”

Chinese Flu sufferer criticized for calling it Chinese flu

A Town of Essex councillor has triggered anger among many locally and far beyond after posting on Twitter about testing positive for “the Chinese Flu.”

Chris Vander Doelen, who retired five years ago from the Windsor Star and has served on council since being elected in 2018, posted the following on Friday: “Damn. My test for the Chinese flu came back positive. So I hafta lay low for another week — a punishment worse than the illness proved to be.”

I wonder how many of those critics are tied to the CCP?
