COVID Hysteria Latest Evidence—Left Authoritarianism Is A Thing

COVID-19 has notoriously exposed the inner authoritarian among a lot of people who ordinarily claim to be liberals, e.g., New York Legislation Provides for Indefinite Detention of Unvaccinated at Governor’s Whim, by Kay Smythe, NationalFile.com, December 18, 2021. You can tell that theirs is a characteristically Left Authoritarianism because of its irrational focus on equality rather than efficacy, e.g., its refusal to look at differential racial impact and its refusal to put restrictions on key at-risk populations (the elderly, obese) rather than socializing the suffering across the entire population—because that would be (aargh!) “discrimination.” But the existence of Left Authoritarianism should not be a surprise. There’s been gathering evidence for it in the technical literature.

The Spectator editor Fraser Nelson recently had an exchange with Graham Medley, chair of SPI-M, a committee of Sage Modeling, who came up with a pretty grim outlook for the “Omicron” (Moronic) variant of the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19). It turns out that Sage only churns out worst-case scenarios, Moronic included, that sidestep any possibility of a positive outcome because this is what politicians expect in order to impose more fascism.

COVID-19: ‘Omicron tidal wave’ is coming, hospitals will be overwhelmed, predict scientists

New modelling shows B.C. could reach 10,000 new COVID-19 cases a day within two weeks, causing hospitals to become overwhelmed with patients, say a group of B.C.-based scientists.

And they believe the only way to prevent that is by shutting down all restaurants and indoor public events for the next three weeks.
