Toronto’s youth firearm arrests up 161% in 2 years, new data shows

Misguided youth.

Youth firearm arrests in Toronto have skyrocketed by 161 per cent over the past two years, new data shows, and police say the uptick is happening as gangs increasingly look to recruit young people.

From January 1 to July 7, 2022, there were 41 youth firearm arrests, while the same period this year saw 107, according to police data updated this week.

Meanwhile, the number of adult firearm arrests in the city has risen two cent over the last two years. In 2022, from Jan. 1 to July 7, there were 410 adult firearm arrests, while the same period this year saw 418.

Gold stolen in Toronto airport heist now likely overseas, police admit

Peel Regional Police have quietly conceded that millions in gold stolen from Toronto Pearson Airport in April 2023 was likely quickly smuggled out of Canada to the Middle East or South Asia.

“We believe a large portion has gone overseas to markets that are flush with gold,” lead investigator Det. Sgt. Mike Mavity told members of the Peel Police Service Board during a June 21 meeting.

“That would be Dubai, or India, where you can take gold with serial numbers on it and they will still honour it and melt it down…. And we believe that happened very shortly after the incident.”

She lied to get her twin daughters Inuit status and is about to be sentenced for fraud. Again.

Noah Noah says he has no positive memories of Karima Manji, the woman who used his mother, Kitty Noah, to obtain Inuit identities for her twin daughters so she could gain access to funds only available to Inuit beneficiaries.

“She was really awful,” Noah said of Manji during a CBC News interview in 2023 at his Iqaluit home.

A truly awful family who do not deserve to be in Canada.

Rupa Subramanya: I’m Stuck Between the Woke Left and the Nativist Right

Hope that’s not a beef burger.

During the last few months of 2023, a Hindu temple in the Toronto suburb of Brampton, Ontario, erected a statue of the Hindu demigod Hanuman. The 55-foot statue, which looms over its neighborhood, was built on grounds owned by the temple, paid for with private funds, and violated no building codes.

I’m a Hindu myself—an immigrant from India who came to Canada in 1998 to attend college. I became a journalist and later a Canadian citizen, eventually gaining a reputation as a reporter and conservative-leaning commenter. Like many of my fellow conservatives, I decried government overreach on Covid-19 policy responses, criticized the government of Justin Trudeau, and covered the excesses of the progressive left. I believe passionately in property rights, the rule of law, and the importance of free expression.

Quite a range of responses to her tweet

Canada has become a cautionary tale of what happens when you let antisemitism run unchecked

When will it stop? Is an end in sight? Just when we want to believe we’ve seen the worst in antisemitism in Canada and hope that the surge in anti-Jewish hate crimes and related incidents that began after Oct. 7 will subside, we’re hit with a fresh reality check.

Indeed, it’s now almost as if each new day brings more troubling headlines for Canada’s Jewish community about yet another disturbing antisemitic action.

‘It’s really heartbreaking to know that we are not supported’: Muslims tell MPs about their experiences with Islamophobia in Canada

OTTAWA — Following the 2021 terrorist attack that killed four members of a Muslim family in London, Ont., Liberal MP Shafqat Ali no longer felt it was safe enough for his hijab-wearing daughter to walk to school alone.

“That incident has put a lasting impact on every Muslim in Canada,” the Brampton MP told parliamentarians Monday.

Has any country other than Canada ever had such a destructive immigration policy?

Poor immigration source country selection has resulted in the import of numerous ethnic and religious conflicts that have no place in Canada.

Bad policy such as multiculturalism that serves only to balkanize society reinforces those poor choices.

But identity politics reigns in this once beautiful land.

If you vote LPC please have yourself committed to a mental institution.

Joe Oliver: A principled Canada would protect its Jews

… In Canada, as elsewhere, Israel’s enemies target it with unhinged ferocity. Too many decent people don’t recognize that this vilification is unjustified and one-sided because it’s been normalized by an accommodating establishment and mainstream media. Moral clarity was always an endangered species in the Middle Eastern conflict.

A principled Canada would protect it’s Jews? Really?

Would that be the principled Canada of Jews for Gaza?

Would that be the principled Canada of Bernie Farber’s CAHN?

Would that be the principled Canada that has demonized White people through DEI and CRT for the past decade?

Would that be the principled Canada of fake mass graves and burning churches?

Would that be the principled Canada that force marched us down the one way street of multiculturalism and diversity while denigrating our nation as founded on genocide?

Would that be the principled Canada whose elites have flooded the nation with incompatible immigrant cultures yet demands that we bigots learn to be tolerant?

Would that be the principled Canada that declares White supremacism a major threat while allowing multiple imported ethnic conflicts to be fought out in our streets?

Would that be the principled Canada that smeared you as a racist for daring to point out the folly of Mass Islamist immigration?

Would that be the principled  Canada where some of the same super tolerant blowhards who called us Islamophobes are suddenly the most enthusiastic of Islamophobes?

Would that be the principled Canada whose security services play down the threat of Muslim terrorism to please their political masters?

Would that be the principled Canada where identity politics is so out of hand that they appointed an Islamophobia Tsar who doubles as an Hamas cheerleader?

Would that be the principled Canada where the Mayor of Toronto declares a ceremonial flag raising “divisive”?

Would that be the principled Canada where most of the government media is as suspect as Press TV?

You see I’m a little confused. I consider myself to be a decent person even if I am one of those Islamophobic Demon Whites this country’s elites hate so fucking much so I’m more than a little surprised you’re asking for my help.

PS. That principled Canada you refer to is a thing of the past. Our principled elites trashed it or have you forgotten?

America’s Unprotected Class

Three years ago, the left-wing mayor of a Budapest district oversaw the erection of a statue in honor of the U.S. Black Lives Matter movement. When journalists asked her for the point of putting up a monument to BLM, given that Hungary has very few black people, the politician said, “The BLM goals of opposing racism and police brutality are just as relevant in Hungary as anywhere else.”

The unusual Budapest statue (which was destroyed quickly after it was erected) was but one of hundreds of pro-BLM European demonstrations following the death of George Floyd. American racial conflicts have a way of going global in the age of worldwide mass media, as if left-wing crowds in Britain and continental Europe were connected by a central nervous system.

Prominent Black charity that receives significant tax dollar funding paid $1.5M to 2 board members’ companies, records show

Screen grabs from BBPA-Financial-Statements-2023

Some members of a prominent charity for the Canadian Black business community are calling for its board of directors to resign and for a third-party audit after discovering the non-profit paid two former board members’ companies at least $1.5 million for services while they were on the board or CEO of the charity.

CBC Toronto obtained dozens of pages of internal records concerning the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) — including invoices and transaction records — which show the non-profit did not disclose more than $800,000 of that spending as related party transactions to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

I’m shocked. Screen shots taken from  BBPA-Financial-Statements-2023

Jamie Sarkonak: No off-ramp to diversity quotas, federal research executive says

Canadian universities, at the direction of the federal Liberal government and the research granting agencies for which it’s responsible, have made race- and sex- based discrimination a matter of everyday business. And they don’t seem to have a plan to pare it back.

Take the president of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Ted Hewitt, who attended the House of Commons committee on science and research last Thursday for its study on post-secondary funding. Under his organization’s watch is the administration of the Canada Research Chairs Program, which is supposed to provide prestigious multi-year grants to highly competitive researchers across Canada. Only, it can hardly be called competitive, as the program is bound by strict diversity quotas.

New CRTC Questionnaire Asks Broadcasters About Their Diversity Practices, Raising Concerns About Ideological Creep

The CRTC is asking Canadian broadcasters for extensive details on their diversity initiatives in hiring and broadcasting.

In a four-page letter sent May 1 by email, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) asked broadcasters six questions on their “program offerings and employment opportunities” to see if they met the requirements of the Online Streaming Act.
