Nickelodeon airs segment that discusses “environmental racism”

“What do these cities have in common?” said the host of the segment, CBS News correspondent Jamie Yuccas. “They’re all examples of environmental racism, a form of systemic racism where minority and low-income communities are surrounded by health hazards because they live near sewage, mines, landfills, power stations, [and] major roads.”

Could dimming the sun help to cool the Earth? Bill Gates wants to spray millions of tonnes of CHALK into the stratosphere to reflect sunlight and slow global warming – but critics fear it could be disastrous

The first test of a project backed to spray millions of tonnes of chalk into the stratosphere, in an attempt to ‘dim the sun’ and cool the Earth, could happen in June.

Harvard University experts will test the system by sending a large balloon 12 miles above the Swedish town of Kiruna and have it drop 2kg of chalk dust into the stratosphere.

The aim of the estimated $3 million mission, backed by billionaire Bill Gates, is to have the chalk deflect a portion of the sun’s radiation, stop it from hitting the surface, and cool the planet.

Why can’t they just fudge the temperature records down instead of up?

Penis Size Is Shrinking Due To Environmental Pollution, Scientist Warns

‘A question of life and death’: Why climate action must also take racial justice into account

Without diversity among its leadership, environmentalist groups risk being unable to speak to — and potentially recruit — members from a wider range of backgrounds and perspectives, according to Ryerson University sociology professor Cheryl Teelucksingh.

“A lot of the environmental movement historically has come out of a [focus on] wilderness protection, conservation sort of orientation, and that has not included the livelihood concerns that Black and racialized populations really emphasize,” she said.

France Is Making Ecocide Illegal, But What Does That Mean?

Damaging the environment is set to become illegal in France, punishable by fines of up to €4.5 million and up to 10 years in prison.

A citizens’ assembly included criminalising ‘ecocide’ in its recommendations for the government earlier this year. A group of 150 randomly selected French citizens voted on proposals for combatting the climate crisis and among the proposals was a suggestion to make ‘ecocide’ (extensive damage to ecosystems) an offence punishable by law.
