The education secretary, James Cleverly, said: “Access to funding must not stand in the way of every school having on-site access to a life-saving defibrillator.
“The evidence clearly shows that defibrillators drastically increase the chance of survival from a cardiac arrest, and it’s particularly important that they are available close to sports halls and playing fields that children, young people and the wider community use on a daily basis.
An article published in the peer-reviewed periodical of the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) states that healthcare workers were among the “most likely” to express vaccine hesitancy at the beginning of the pandemic.
In Cold Lake, Alta., Canada’s fighter jets are ready 24-hour a day at the Canadian Forces Base. The oil sands operations of Imperial Oil run around the clock. But the hospital emergency room in the community three hours east of Edmonton doesn’t always have a doctor.
For Mayor Craig Copeland, attracting new physicians has been a challenge for all of his six terms in office. His community has 15,000 people, and rural areas outside town count for another 15,000, meaning 30,000 people rely on the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre.
The crisis in Ontario’s hospitals is directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the pandemic didn’t break the system; it just revealed its deep fault lines.
Hospitals may be closing down due to the COVID outbreak, but doctors are saying it’s because of the ongoing staff shortage. ‘A nurse can’t be everywhere,’ says Cathryn Hoy, President of the Ontario Nurses’ Association.
An award-winning Australian musician who was left partially paralysed claims he was told privately by five different doctors that it was almost certainly a reaction to the Moderna vaccine but they would not put it in writing out of fear of being deregistered.
Tyson Illingworth, aka tyDi, who shot to fame at age 17 after being signed by Armin van Buuren’s Armada label, says he is still in constant pain and taking daily medications and injections, more than six months after being hospitalised and going through rehab to “learn to use my hands and feet again”.
Dr. Valadimir “Zev” Zelenko passed away today, leaving behind a legacy of helping others in the fight against Covid-19.
This Paper On Early Treatment Was The Key Paper With The Treatment Algorithm; I Wrote With Dr. McCullough & Is Listed As 2nd Author. But You See Who Is The Last Author, Zev, He Was Senior Scientist
We had Zev as last author as he was the senior scientist with guidance. It was his work we developed and formulated. He is and was transformational. This tells you his role in early treatment.
In memory, Zev Zelenko 1973-2022
Early this morning I was informed that my friend Zev Zelenko had died at the young age of 48 after a long battle with cancer.
Zev had a heart of gold and was never afraid to speak the truth.
I last talked to him on May 24 and asked him how he was doing and he basically said “I have metastatic sarcoma” so he knew the outlook was grim and he didn’t have a lot of time left.
On June 10, the last message he sent me was to let me know that his memoir was coming out in 2 months. It is called “Zelenko: How to decapitate the Serpent.” He wanted my help in promoting it.
Full disclosure: Mom’s been on Z-Stack (Dr. Zelenko’s prevention and treatment protocol) since this fiasco began.
A strange new medical anomaly has doctors baffled as it sweeps across the country. Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) is on the rise, and it’s tragically claiming the lives of healthy young adults, sometimes in their sleep.
Essentially, people are dying without displaying any prior sign of illness. They simply do not wake up after going to bed, or collapse during the day.
Reports of SADS have been increasing in recent weeks. A news.com web piece explains that, ‘Sudden Adult Death Syndrome … is an umbrella term to describe unexpected deaths in young people, usually under 40, when a post-mortem can find no obvious cause of death.’
Eighteen rectal cancer patients took a new drug from GlaxoSmithKline rather than face brutal treatments like chemotherapy and life-changing surgery, and all eighteen saw their tumors completely disappear, according to the trial results published Sunday in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). It is believed to be the first trial ever conducted in which all subjects became completely cancer-free.
Senator Larry Campbell, who struggles with depression, PTSD, and “getting old,” reveals that psilocybin microdoses helped improve his mood.
“This is the first time I’ve admitted this,” teased Senator Larry Campbell of his unexpected psilocybin experience while speaking at the opening ceremonies of the Catalyst Psychedelics Summit in Kingston, Ontario.
The World Health Organization (WHO), whose constitution defines health as ‘a state of physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity,’ has recently orchestrated remarkable reversals in human rights, poverty reduction, education, and physical, mental and social health indices in the name of responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
WHO proposes to expand the mechanisms that enabled this response, diverting unprecedented resources to addressing what in terms of history and disease are rare and relatively low-impact events. This will greatly benefit those who also did well from the Covid-19 outbreak, but has different implications for the rest of us. To address it calmly and rationally, we need to understand it.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) today confirmed a single case of monkeypox virus infection in an adult male with recent travel to Canada. Initial testing was completed late Tuesday at the State Public Health Laboratory in Jamaica Plain and confirmatory testing was completed today at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). DPH is working closely with the CDC, relevant local boards of health, and the patient’s health care providers to identify individuals who may have been in contact with the patient while he was infectious. This contact tracing approach is the most appropriate given the nature and transmission of the virus. The case poses no risk to the public, and the individual is hospitalized and in good condition.
One in nine COVID patients needing hospitalization for their illness end up dying or returning to the hospital within 30 days of their discharge. Researchers in Canada found that the 11 percent who are more likely to die or need rehospitalization tended to be older adults and men.
How about we leave American decisions on abortion access to Americans and focus on our health-care system, where a lack of both access and timely access to health care is a huge problem, exacerbated by the pandemic and years of federal and provincial government waste, incompetence and neglect?
“COVID-19 vaccines saved lives and got Canadians back to doing the things they love.
Today’s announcement means that Canadian workers and Canadian innovation will play a key role in keeping our communities safe now and in the future. It also means hundreds of new, well-paying jobs as we recover from this pandemic and build a better future for everyone.”
The Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada
