Kimmel Suspended Indefinitely From ABC

ABC is taking Jimmy Kimmel off the air after the late night host claimed on Monday that “the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

From the NYTIMES – ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Off Air for Charlie Kirk Comments

… Mr. Carr, in an interview on a right-wing podcast on Wednesday, said that Mr. Kimmel’s remarks about the suspect were part of a “concerted effort to lie to the American people” and said his agency was “going to have remedies that we can look at.”

“Frankly, when you see stuff like this — I mean, we can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Mr. Carr told the podcast’s host, Benny Johnson. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the F.C.C. ahead.”

Wow that was shitty of Kimmel.

The ignorance and idiocy of Hollywood’s Israel boycott

In Israel, there is a thriving television and film industry, which in recent years has become admired around the world. If you are one of the few people who have not watched the thriller, Fauda, a global sensation in Hebrew and Arabic that is particularly popular in the Arab world, binge it immediately; a new season is due for release in the coming months.

Lower your expectations for Spinal Tap II

This Is Spinal Tap is now such a deserved comedy behemoth that it’s easy to forget how gradual its ascent to generally agreed greatness was. Only over the years did so many lines and scenes from a low-key 1984 mockumentary about a heavy-rock band (amps that ‘go to 11’, a tiny Stonehenge, a classically inspired piece called ‘Lick My Love Pump’) become part of our lives.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, by contrast, comes amid a loud fanfare – which may be part of the problem, because the result certainly doesn’t live up to expectations that are inevitably sky-high. Then again, the sad truth is that it mightn’t have lived up to lower ones either.

I honestly can’t remember if Kathy introduced me to Spinal Tap or not.

No matter we both loved the original and a quote or two became standard responses within our world’s language.

Pixar Replacement: OpenAI‘s $30 Million ‘Critterz‘ Made Three Times Faster and Cheaper than Hollywood Animated Movies

OpenAI’s $30 million Critterz was reportedly made three times faster and cheaper than Hollywood animated movies.

As artificial intelligence becomes ever-more sophisticated, Hollywood may now find itself facing some challenges, as OpenAI has made an animated film leaving many wondering if AI can end giants like Pixar, according to a report by IBTimes UK.

OpenAI Backs AI-Made Animated Feature Film

The film, called ‘Critterz,’ aims to debut at the Cannes Film Festival and will leverage the startup’s AI tools and resources

OpenAI wants to prove that generative artificial intelligence can make movies faster and cheaper than Hollywood does today.

The startup is lending its tools and computing resources to the creation of a feature-length animated movie made largely with AI that is expected to be released in theaters globally next year.

“Critterz,” about forest creatures who go on an adventure after their village is disrupted by a stranger, is the brainchild of Chad Nelson, a creative specialist at OpenAI. Nelson started sketching out the characters three years ago while trying to make a short film with what was then OpenAI’s new DALL-E image-generation tool.

How Bruce Springsteen Fooled America

Springsteen is not a patriot. He isn’t the voice of American pride. He’s a salesman, and a disingenuous one at that

Bruce Springsteen is considered by many to be the voice of America. A patriot. A hero. The blue-collar troubadour who stood shoulder to shoulder with working men and sang their stories back to them. But according to Aaron Lewis, that image is a fraud. He’s right. The evidence is impossible to ignore.

Lewis rose in the late 1990s as frontman of Staind, one of the era’s biggest rock bands, selling millions and filling arenas. In recent years, he has reinvented himself as a solo country artist. Unlike most musicians parroting Hollywood politics, he wears his patriotism openly. His songs are bluntly pro-American, his shows draped in the Stars and Stripes. Mocked and scorned, he hasn’t backed down. That’s why his criticism of Springsteen carries weight.

Disney Wants Ideas For Movies That Will Appeal To Young Men. I Have A Few

Executives at Walt Disney Studios are reportedly pressing Hollywood creatives for movie ideas that will bring young men back to the theaters. According to Variety, Disney is hoping to get Gen Z men, which it defines as ages 13 to 28, interested in original films.

“The sources say Disney has been seeking new IP and pitches such as splashy global adventures and treasure hunts, as well as seasonal fare like films for the Halloween corridor,” Variety reports. “The calls come as the Star Wars machine struggles to produce any film project and the superhero genre sheds audiences by the minute.”

Nolte: After Deliberately Alienating Males, Desperate Disney Wants Them Back

The Disney Grooming Syndicate’s open and seething hostility towards men and boys reaches back more than a decade. Franchise after franchise has been retooled, deconstructed, and woke-raped to tell young men they are a disease and to deliver sweet feelzzz to women and the LGBTQ crowd. And as we have seen at the box office, that approach has blown up in the groomer’s bigoted, smug, self-satisfied fat face.

Variety Is Now Actively Rooting for the End of Hollywood

The magazine’s editor hasn’t caught on that America is done with Hollywoke.

One of the recurring features of the Mike Holman novels I’ve been writing over the past couple of years is the regularity of their content coming to pass in real life, and the latest, Blockbusters, which is available here at The American Spectator in serialized form, is no different.

Blockbusters essentially games out a scenario in which a large amount of capital is applied toward the idea that control of entertainment media transforms the film and TV industry into something very different and far more successful. It’s sort of a Get Shorty-meets-Wall Street-meets-Secret Of My Success.

It’s a lot of fun.

Conan O’Brien: ‘Late-Night Television Going to Disappear,‘ But Stephen Colbert ‘Too Essential to Go Away‘

Remember when Conan O’Brien went slumming in Haiti because Trump badmouthed the shithole state?

Former late-night TV host Conan O’Brien is saying that his former genre is dead, but he is also sure that canceled CBS host Stephen Colbert is “too essential to go away” permanently.

You mean non-stop woke whining and insulting half of America every night wasn’t a rating success?

Can’t pay, won’t pay: impoverished streaming services are driving viewers back to piracy

As subscription costs rise and choice diminishes on legal sites, film and TV fans are turning to VPNs and illicit streamers, with Sweden – home of both Spotify and The Pirate Bay – leading the way

With a trip to Florence booked, all I want is to rewatch Medici. The 2016 historical drama series tells of the rise of the powerful Florentine banking dynasty, and with it, the story of the Renaissance. Until recently, I could simply have gone to Netflix and found it there, alongside a wide array of award-winning and obscure titles. But when I Google the show in 2025, the Netflix link only takes me to a blank page. I don’t see it on HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV+, or any of the smaller streaming platforms. On Amazon Prime I am required to buy each of the three seasons or 24 episodes separately, whereupon they would be stored in a library subject to overnight deletion. Raised in the land of The Pirate Bay, the Swedish torrent index, I feel, for the first time in a decade, a nostalgia for the high seas of digital piracy. And I am not alone.
