Umm Hudaifa was the first wife of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and was married to him while he oversaw IS’s brutal rule over large parts of Syria and Iraq. She is now being held in an Iraqi jail while she is investigated for terrorism-related crimes.
In the summer of 2014, Umm Hudaifa was living in Raqqa, IS’s then-stronghold in Syria, with her husband.

A man convicted of murdering a young teenage Burnaby girl has repeatedly told a pre-sentencing hearing that he didn’t kill her, after refusing to listen to his interpreter during an impact statement by the girl’s father.

The killing of a police officer by an Afghan-born Islamist in Mannheim, southern Germany, has led politicians to call for knives to be banned in public places.
Germans were outraged after a 29-year-old officer succumbed to wounds inflicted by a Muslim extremist who had attempted to murder anti-Islamism activist and journalist Michael Stürzenberger at a public rally on May 31st.

Seven men have been found guilty of a catalogue of sickening child sex offences after two teenage girls were abused in Rotherham.
The victims – who were aged between 11 and 16 at the time of the offending in the early 2000s, were both in care and were groomed and plied with alcohol and cannabis before being raped or assaulted. The National Crime Agency says they were often collected by their abusers from the children’s homes they lived at at the time before being assaulted.

Last Friday, five people were injured and one police officer was killed in a knife attack in the German city of Mannheim. The suspect is a 25-year-old man who came to Germany from Afghanistan in 2014.
Though there were no shouts of ‘Alluha Akbar’ heard on the video taken during the stabbing, there was immediate speculation that the attacker was an Islamist. The alleged organizer of a fatal Mississauga restaurant shooting in 2021 made a man pledge allegiance to ISIS before he told him he ordered two others to “slaughter” the victims, court heard Tuesday.

Saga Forsgren Elneborg, 20, was found strangled to death at her home in the city of Örebro in April 2023 in a case that shocked the Scandinavian country.
Prosecutors claimed that her 22-year-old boyfriend Mohamedamin Abdirisek Ibrahim decided to murder her rather than face the shame of telling his Muslim family that his girlfriend – believed to be half Thai, half Swedish and Christian – was expecting his baby.

The Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV)—the country’s domestic spy agency—has monitored the campaigner for the past ten years, and a state-funded Bavarian anti-extremism organisation has called Stürzenberger a conspiracy theorist for warning about political Islam getting a foothold in Germany.
