The woke left’s response to the Islamist assault on Israel has exploded their phoney moral superiority for good.
First, the horror. No sooner had Hamas rolled into Israel on Saturday, murdering and kidnapping those they came across, than images of their depraved exploits were plastered across social media. Innocent people executed on the streets. A pensioner kidnapped and driven into Gaza on a golf buggy. A young woman’s lifeless body, stripped almost naked, paraded on the back of a pick-up truck as men spat on her and chanted ‘Allahu Akbar’. Ordinary people slaughtered and taken for no other crime than being Israeli, than being Jewish. Then, the sewer. Just as social media had confronted us with such unspeakable evil, it then confronted us with those in the West who looked upon these barbaric, blood-thirsty scenes – from the comfort of safe homes 2,000 miles away – and thought to themselves: Good.

Hamas celebrations stopped in Berlin amid warning of attacks on Jewish sites
German police broke up pro-Hamas celebrations in Berlin on Saturday night as the country’s antisemitism commissioner warned of attacks on Jewish sites.
Police made multiple arrests in the district of Neukoelln after officers tried to disperse around 40 people who were celebrating on the boulevard of Sonnenallee in the evening.
Officers reported chants of banned slogans such as “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”.

WARMINGTON: Some in Toronto celebrating mass murder of Israelis as death toll mounts
First Canada saw cheering for a Second World War Nazi-related Waffen SS soldier, now there’s jubilation in Toronto over the mass slaughter of innocent Israelis.
Most of the dead are believed to be Jewish – just like those exterminated in the Holocaust. But some here thought this was fantastic and went public to party about it.

Cameron Ortis trial: RCMP documents detail alleged multi-billion dollar terrorist money laundering scheme in GTA
Newly released documents show Canadian involvement in an international investigation of an alleged money laundering ring in the Greater Toronto Area that authorities believe is linked to a man accused of laundering money for terrorists.
Altaf Khanani, a Pakistani national, has been on the radar of international law enforcement since at least 2008, when he was arrested in his home country for allegedly transferring money illegally.
The U.S. State Department accused Khanani, once described in a media report as “one of the world’s most wanted fraudsters,” of laundering billions of dollars for organized crime and terrorist outfits, including al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Last week the European Parliament hosted an event in Brussels entitled ‘Close Guantanamo’. It was hosted by two Irish left-wing MEPs, and among the invites were representatives of Cage, which has been described by the French government as an ‘Islamist’ organisation, an allegation Cage denies. Cage was briefly infamous in Britain in 2015 when its director Asim Qureshi called Islamic State butcher Mohammed Emwazi, aka ‘Jihadi John’, who made a living hacking off Westerners’ heads, a ‘beautiful young man’ and blamed security services for his radicalisation. Qureshi later said he regretted his ‘inappropriate description’ of the Isis fighter.
Woman in Canada facing terrorism charge for alleged participation in ISIS activities: RCMP
The RCMP say a 29-year-old woman in Canada is facing a terrorism-related offence for her alleged participation in the activities of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS).
Police say Ammara Amjad returned to Canada from Syria on April 4 and was arrested by way of a terrorism peace bond. She was later released on bail conditions pending a future court appearance.
Narges Mohammadi: Iranian woman jailed for rights work wins Nobel Peace prize
Imprisoned Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi has won the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize.
Announcing the decision, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said Ms Mohammadi, 51, was honoured for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran.
Her struggle has come at a “tremendous personal cost”, committee chairwoman Berit Reiss-Andersen said.
Ms Mohammadi is currently serving a 10-year jail term in Iran’s notorious Evin prison in the capital, Tehran.

A 16-year-old Iranian schoolgirl has been hospitalized and left in a coma after falling unconscious on Tehran’s underground days ago.
Kurdish-focused rights group Hengaw said on Tuesday that Armita Garawand was assaulted by female officers from the country’s morality police after refusing to wear the Islamic headscarf.

The Dalai Lama can tell Pope Francis something about migrants
The Vatican is helping the islamization of Europe succeed.You can’t make this up.
The latest scenario from the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies does not bode well for Europe: by 2030, 2.9 to 4.7 million migrants will arrive from Africa and the Middle East (3.4 million in the moderate scenario).
But Pope Francis dismisses the great migrartion upheaval underway as “alarmist propaganda”.
In his closing speech at the Mediterranean Meetings in Marseille, the Pope warned of the risk of a “shipwreck of civilization” on the subject of migrants. For Francis, it is a shipwreck of conscience, that of giving in to the temptation of “indifference” and “closing our hearts” – that is to say, concretely, our borders – to all migrants who flock to the gates of Europe.
