The Home Secretary was responding to a Mail investigation into Imam Irfan Chishti MBE, who has played a leading role in the country’s Prevent programme designed to combat radicalisation since 2013.
His company, Me and You Education, gives training to the police, the NHS and in schools on how to spot extremists and neutralise radicalisation. On its website, Mr Chishti says that his goal is to heal divisions between communities.

Police in Los Angeles have arrested one of the pro-Palestinian activists that attacked a group of diners, while allegedly using anti-Semitic slurs. The man has been charged with assault and could face hate crime charges.
The man, who the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) described as “one of the primary suspects in the assault and beating of several men” outside a restaurant in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles on Tuesday, was taken into custody on Saturday thanks to tips provided by the public, the LAPD said.

Iran’s foreign ministry has denounced as “shameful” an Ontario Superior Court of Justice ruling that found Iran intentionally shot down Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 in an act of terrorism.
The judge issued the judgment Thursday against Iran in a civil lawsuit filed by four families who lost loved ones in the destruction of the plane shortly after takeoff in Tehran on Jan. 8, 2020.
In a statement issued today, ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said the court’s decision lacked legitimate evidence.

MPs and campaigners have condemned pro-Palestine protesters for waving signs referring to Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust during protests against Israeli actions in the Middle East.
One man standing in Trafalgar Square yesterday held a Palestinian flag with a placard reading, ‘Stop doing what Hitler did to you’, while a poster held by a woman read, ‘Israel, the new Nazi state’.
Another sign in London referred to ‘Holocaust Part 2’ and another – referring to Israel’s Prime Minister – read ‘Netanyahu surpasses Hitler in barbarism’.
Good news, everyone is ritualistically condemning antisemitism.
And just like the condemnations of ‘Anti-Asian Hate’, it’s a hollow exercise because the condemnations refuse to actually name the perpetrators.

Radical Birmingham cleric Shaykh Asrar Rashid, who once labelled the Queen a “disgusting woman”, has called on Muslim states to wage holy war and launch air strikes to drive “cowardly” Jews out of Israel.
In a chilling video on Islamic news site 5Pillars, the Birmingham cleric said the “only solution” to the Israel conflict was “jihad” by Muslim-majority countries.
He called for air strikes on Tel Aviv, which, he boasted, would have Israelis with European passports “running back to Europe” as he mocked “the Jews … as a cowardly nation”.

A Jewish family was leaving a synagogue when a group of men drove by and insulted the family until an armed bystander got between them, a local CBS affiliate reported Thursday.
Eric Orgen said he was walking with his wife and daughter when the men yelled and threw garbage at the family, according to CBS12 News.
“They just started screaming some derogatory things towards Jewish people out the window,” Orgen told CBS12 News. The men said, “free Palestine, die Jew, F you Jew, I’m gonna rape your wife,” according to Orgen.
The US government has told Islamic State-affiliated fighters in Nigeria they are not eligible for a reward after reports that the leader of Boko Haram had died during clashes in a forest in the north-east.

An upsetting afternoon. I was quietly reading the news on my phone about a group of about 20 Palestinian terrorists, young people in their 20s, in a caravan of SUVs flying Palestinian flags. They pulled up in front of a Japanese sushi café a couple of miles from my house, in the lower part of Beverly Hills, a neighborhood largely of older Jewish people.
