Students turning back on ‘bullying’ cancel culture, Harvard professor believes

Students are becoming less interested in cancel culture, a leading Harvard professor has suggested.

Arthur Brooks, Social science professor, said that the wave of academics or students who have been persecuted for their political and ideological views on campuses has “crested”.

Intense disagreements at British universities have resulted in fierce clashes between staff and students, with academics leaving their jobs as a result.

Two Woke Authoritarians Make Their Exit

First New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern, and now Scotland’s Nicola Sturgeon: the world’s chief nannies are quitting before voters have a chance to push them out. The pair thrived off imposing Covid restrictions, only to find far less sympathy for their blend of woke politics and authoritarian control in 2023. It seems that, freed from lockdowns, many people are no longer willing to be nudged, cajoled, hectored, censored, monitored, checked, and approved. Nor are they willing to sacrifice their rights, their children’s safety, and their standard of living to appease a leader’s appetite for hollow displays of virtue.

Now the speech police are coming for gamers

Today, free speech online is under siege from all angles. From the state, with its ever-expanding hate-speech laws. From tech companies, who see it as their moral mission to ‘protect’ users from ‘harm’. And from the media, who present the online world as a cesspool of ‘misinformation’ and ‘hate speech’, in need of ever-tighter moderation. Now these forces have combined, as part of a new push to regulate the interactions of online gamers.

Sensitivity readers are Twits to mess with the magic of Roald Dahl

The author’s books have been edited for fear of offending. Kids should be allowed to read them in their full, nasty, colourful glory

I grew up devouring Roald Dahl’s stories. His wonderful imagination, his ability to turn a phrase, his brilliantly colourful characters all fostered a love of reading that led me towards a career in books.

As a seven-year-old, I saw myself as Matilda more than any other character and spent a considerable amount of time trying to move objects via the power of my brain.

Black students gathered several white students on a specific spot of the playground and forced them to state ‘Black Lives Matter’ against their will,”, the police report states.

Someone is setting these kids up for a great fall.

Michael Shellenberger: Normies unite! Toward a liberal-conservative alliance against Wokeism

People who worked in hospital clinics in the United States and Great Britain are blowing the whistle on the rush to prescribe puberty-blocking drugs and surgeries to children suffering from gender dysphoria.

Their claims are shocking: thousands of children, many if not most of whom may be gay, lesbian, or bisexual, and suffering anxiety disorders and autism, are being sterilized for a psychiatric condition that most will grow out of.

Just like “repressed memories.” A lot of lawsuits will be launched but what is really needed is a Nuremburg 2.0 for these maniac medicos.

Elon Musk is right. Western woke censorship puts Iran to shame.

Elon Musk, the libertarian billionaire who drives progressives all over the world crazy, has just written that we live in a disturbing middle ground between Orwell’s 1984, Huxley’s Brave Brave New World and Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

Without mentioning the Nazis and the Soviets, Islamic regimes have problems with books. Erdogan’s Turkey has replaced Shakespeare and Brecht in state theaters with Turkish authors. He also threatened books by William S. Burroughs and “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck with censorship. A cache of half a million books was discovered in a hangar in Tehran, including Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, George Bernard Shaw and Albert Camus, Homer’s “Iliad”. They were not liked by the Islamic Revolution, which had seized them.

Auburn’s Black Student Union recently circulated a list of racial slurs for white people. Campus Reform reports that some of the popular ones include:

  • “palm people”
  • “failed abortions”
  • “deformed dna”
  • “mockery of humanity”
  • “bleach demons”
  • “albino pigs”
  • “not meant to exist”
  • “white ‘people’ was just god experimenting.”

Someone must dislike Blacks a great deal to have gone to so much trouble.

“I was sold for $200 as a sex slave… And they say they’re oppressed because people can’t follow their pronouns they invent every day?”

North Korea defector compares woke US ideology, education to regime tactics

“They were in Manhattan, living in the freest country you can imagine, and they’re saying they’re oppressed? It doesn’t even compute,” Yeonmi Park told The Post of students at her alma mater, Columbia University. “I was sold for $200 as a sex slave in the 21st century under the same sky. And they say they’re oppressed because people can’t follow their pronouns they invent every day?”

The 29-year-old defected from North Korea as a young teen, only to be human-trafficked in China. In 2014, she became one of just 200 North Koreans to live in the United States — and, as of last year, is an American citizen.

The Perfect Example of Disney’s Woke Virtue-Signaling

The news that Disney is making additional sequels to Frozen, Toy Story, and Zootopia put me back in mind of Frozen II, which I saw in the theater when it came out in late 2019. Its plot perfectly captured the trouble with woke virtue-signaling. It is, in fact, a fascinating document not only of the woke impulse at work in the world of Disney, but also of how trying give an audience of young, female humans what they want collides with that impulse.

Plaque commemorating Ottawa’s Karen Kulture during ‘Freedom Convoy’ removed

A commemorative plaque celebrating a watershed moment of citizen resistance to the ‘Freedom Convoy’ last year has been taken down.

The plaque commemorated the so-called ‘Battle of Billings Bridge,’ when hundreds of people blocked an intersection to prevent convoy protesters from driving downtown on the third weekend of the occupation.

Hitler’s Spiritual Descendants

When it comes to race, “Woke” is the new Nazi.

On Jan. 30, 1933, Paul von Hindenburg, the beleaguered president of Germany’s Weimar Republic, reluctantly appointed a former corporal to be chancellor of his politically chaotic nation. Ten weeks later, Adolf Hitler and his Nazis began codifying a series of anti-Semitic laws that would culminate in the Holocaust. Yet few realize that the Nazis’ anti-Semitic ideas came primarily from two intellectuals from the 19th century.

Ninety years later, that fact should provide a sober warning for Americans.

RAF diversity drive ‘discriminated against 160 white men’

Problems created by push for women and ethnic minorities come as crisis-hit Armed Forces also face sex harassment scandals

The RAF has been accused of discriminating against 160 white men in its effort to meet “aspirational diversity targets”.

Tobias Ellwood, chairman of the defence select committee, told MPs that the RAF’s former head of recruitment had identified the cases before she resigned in protest.

After the revelation, Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, head of the force, was asked if he had presided over a “lack of integrity at the top of the RAF”.

I bet they’re wondering why recruitment efforts are drastic failures.
