Not long ago, English concerned words, biology was set in science, and math dealt with digits.

Who could have predicted such subjects would soon be tinted with talk of race?

California has become the first state to require large retailers to have gender-neutral sections for products like toys and toothbrushes — a law pushed by LGBT advocates who say that pink and blue marketing reinforces gender stereotypes and is harmful to children.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the new law Saturday that mandates large stores offer a gender-neutral section to display “a reasonable selection” of items “regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys.”

“… Yet, too many of my peers want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. To be “woke” today is to acknowledge the factors that intersect with mental illness, but to ignore the illness itself. It is almost taboo to suggest that social inequities are not the sole cause for the development of mental illness. That angers me because this isn’t a matter of opinion.

Or, to be more accurate, was the premiere spot up until a few years ago.

“SNL” pulls its satirical punches whenever a Democrat stumbles. And, in the Age of Biden, that happens more or less daily.

As we watch events unfold in 2021, obvious questions about the fitness of our national leaders present themselves. Who are these new woke national icons and how did they come to lord it over the rest of us? Here are some observations by way of preliminary explanation.

Netflix’s woke My Little Pony: A New Generation introduces its young viewers to themes of tolerance, prejudice and even fascism as it turns the colorful tiny horses into political pawns.

The film depicts anti-magic ponies – the ‘the baddies’ – as ignorant anti-science creatures likely to spread irrational fear and untruths.

It’s official: Hollywood has now lost its last marble.
