NJ first-graders to learn about gender identity in new sex-ed lessons

Planned sex education lessons for first-graders in New Jersey will include discussions of gender identity — outraging some parents and Republican politicians including potential presidential candidate and former Gov. Chris Christie.

A 30-minute lesson called “Pink, Blue and Purple” aims to teach the 6-year-olds to define “gender, gender identity and gender role stereotypes,” Fox News reported Friday.

It also includes instructions for teachers to tell students that their gender identity is up to them, according to materials reportedly distributed to parents at a Feb. 22 meeting of the Westfield Board of Education and posted online.

“You might feel like you’re a boy even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘girl’ parts,” the lesson plan says.

Florida bill would ban pornographic content in schools, require parents’ consent for sex-ed

A new bill in Florida hailed by pro-family advocates would introduce strict penalties for graphic material in public schools and prohibit teaching students sex education without parents’ explicit permission.

Authored by Republican state Sen. Dennis Baxley, SB 1842 would impose a raft of changes designed to protect children and strengthen parental control over sexual content in K-12 schools.

Expect Federal overreach on this too.

Academics Rush To Defend Teacher Who Taught ‘Pornography Literacy’

Fonte left the school in June, the third high-profile staffer to depart the progressive school due to parental outrage.

But educators defended the teacher’s methods to the New York Times, saying that she did not teach anything inappropriate and that her methods were in line with both National Sex Education Standards and the World Health Organization’s International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education, standards used in public schools in New York City.

NY prep school students sent to “porn literacy” training

Imagine you’re a parent paying nearly $50K per year (per child) to send your children to an elite college-prep high school. What is your response when you find out that the curriculum has been expanded to include a lecture offering literacy in the subject of pornography? That’s what happened to a number of families at the elite Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in Manhattan this month. When the students were scheduled to attend a health and sexuality workshop, most didn’t think much of it. Health class always covers topics including reproduction, birth control and all the rest. But when the kids showed up, they learned it was a “pornography literacy” course with the subtitle “An intersectional focus on mainstream porn.” Needless to say, things went downhill from there. And consider this your “questionable content warning” if you click on that link.

New York Lawmaker Pushes Sex Ed Overhaul: Teaching ‘Gender Identity’ To 5-Year-Olds, ‘Anal Sex’ To 11-Year-Olds

A New York state senator is pushing to reform New York’s health curriculum to include teaching topics such as “gender identity” to children as young as 5 years old.

Freshman state Sen. Samra Brouk, a Democrat, is sponsoring a bill in the Senate that would require state educators to adopt sex education standards created by a left-wing activist group, the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS).

Be aware, “Child Rights” are coming: academics argue that comprehensive sex ed is “a child’s human right”

Attempts to solidify the state’s role as mothers and fathers within society continue to emerge.

Two lecturers from the University College Cork in Ireland co-wrote a recent paper arguing that a very explicit form of sexuality education is “primarily a child’s human right, independent of state discretion and/or parental rights.”

New term: ‘consenting pre-adult’.
