Ryan Routh trial: Trump’s ‘would-be assassin’ silenced by judge

The man accused of attempting to assassinate President Trump at his golf course in Florida last year was silenced by a judge as he gave his opening statement at trial.

Ryan Routh is representing himself at the trial in Fort Pierce, Florida, after dismissing his two public defenders. He has pleaded not guilty to five charges, including attempting to kill a presidential candidate, being a felon in possession of a firearm and assaulting a federal officer.

An MSNBC Anchor Just Torched the Latest Anti-Trump Hoax

The anti-Trump media machine just suffered another embarrassing collapse, and it happened in front of millions of viewers.

On Sunday, President Donald Trump attended the U.S. Open men’s final in New York, and if you only followed the initial wave of left-wing reports, you’d think the crowd drove him from Arthur Ashe Stadium by deafening boos. Social media was bursting with giddy claims from leftists that Trump had been “mercilessly booed,” and the legacy media happily repeated the narrative.

Ryan Routh to stand trial for alleged Trump assassination attempt

This week, a man accused of plotting to assassinate US President Donald Trump last September will stand trial in Florida.

The incident – which occurred just weeks after a bullet grazed Trump’s ear in another assassination attempt in Pennsylvania – further underscored the issue of political violence in the months leading up to the 2024 election.

Both incidents prompted intense scrutiny of the US Secret Service and its ability to protect high-profile presidential candidates like Trump.

Conrad Black: The derangement over Trump marches on

Andrew Coyne is an intelligent man and a victim of the recently discovered mental affliction which is caused by the lawful elevation of Donald J. Trump to the office of President of the United States twice. Unfortunately, Andrew’s column in the Globe and Mail on Aug. 29 is demented rubbish. He wrote that “the dictatorship of Donald Trump is no longer a theoretical possibility or even a distant probability. It is an imminent reality.” He accuses Trump of accumulating powers “illegally, in brazen defiance of the Constitution.” He cites the appropriately approved addition of a ballroom to the White House as indicative of his determination to remain there after the end of his term, and suggested he might simply remain in the White House, either having taken it upon himself to cancel the 2028 presidential election, or to allow it to proceed and ignore its results, both of which he would be able to do, despite the post-Roosevelt prohibition of a third term as president, because the senior officials of the armed forces at that point will be his appointees. He concludes: “That Mr. Trump is bent on making himself dictator is no longer in doubt.” It is well-established that the U.S. has a non-political military.

NY Times Compares Trump to Hitler for Wanting ‘Science with Practical Results’

Tuesday’s New York Times led with a 2,500-word screed by science reporter William Broad. “Historians See Autocratic Playbook in Trump’s Attacks on Science” took off from that headline and became quickly even more laughable, taking us back 400 years to the Inquisition. The prominent story was even illustrated with a painting of astronomer Galileo’s 1633 church trial for heresy for insisting the Earth moves around the sun.

What is lost when fewer men go to university?

Nobody panic – but men are less likely to attend university than their female counterparts. This is borne out by the data, as The Globe and Mail’s Joe Friesen reports – a growing trend that has taken root over generations.

Why? One factor may be a public school system that may be better suited to female students, something referred to by some as the “girlification” of education, a term I came across in my colleague Rachel Giese’s 2018 book Boys: What it Means to Become a Man. Are males as alienated – in the education system, but also in society at large – as the manosphere would have us believe? And is this contributing to the growing number of men skipping university?

Trump is bad, men should be emasculated, traditional male roles are evil, university is wonderful, Trump voters are awful and Trump is bad.

Lefties Losing It Over Trump’s Cartel Boat Strike

One of the most bizarre things about living in Trump’s America is how his mere existence drives some people insane.

On the one hand, seen in one way, it is sorta funny. Every move, grunt, utterance, or gesture made by Trump creates an equal and opposite reaction from the Democrats and the media. Trump knows this and often uses it to his advantage or amusement, and if you enjoy puppet shows, you might compare this to a Punch and Judy performance.

Joy Reid Goes Full Conspiracy Theorist, Claims Trump ‘Was Supposedly Shot

Former MSNBC host and professional crazy person Joy Reid joined former colleague Katie Phang on her YouTube show that partners with the MeidasTouch Network on Tuesday to argue that the news media is not being tough enough when it comes to questions around President Trump’s health. In one specific instance, Reid went deep down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole and claimed Trump was only “supposedly shot,” and she’s just asking questions.

Donald Trump says he is not a dictator. Isn’t he?

Speaking in the Oval Office this week, Donald Trump had something he wanted to clarify.

“I’m not a dictator. I don’t like a dictator,” the president said.

Yet his comments came weeks after he deployed armed soldiers and Humvee-style military vehicles to patrol the streets of Washington, claiming, despite all available evidence, that the use of the national guard was necessary to control crime.

The remarks followed Trump withholding, or threatening to withhold, billions of dollars from universities, and after the increasingly politicized FBI raid on the home of John Bolton, a prominent critic of Trump.

The Guardian is the living conscience of a happy Gulag guard.

Stupid Stuff Andrew Coyne Says: Donald Trump is on the brink of becoming a dictator. Can he be stopped?

By now it should be clear that the subjection of the United States to the dictatorship of Donald Trump is no longer a theoretical possibility or even a distant probability. It is an imminent reality.

It is not here, quite – critics of the President remain at large, the courts are still attempting to enforce the rule of law, the results of the 2026 and 2028 elections have not yet been determined – but the pieces are being put in place at astonishing speed.

John Bolton rips Trump’s ‘incoherent’ FBI raid, Ukraine plan in first comments since returning home

Ex-Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton spoke out Tuesday for the first time since his Maryland home and Washington, DC office were raided by the FBI on Friday — and he came out swinging against his former boss.

In a series of X posts, Bolton was back to decrying the 45th and 47th president’s foreign policy — as well as the law enforcement actions targeting him.
