US takes down Iran-linked news sites, alleges disinformation

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — American authorities took down a range of Iran’s state-linked news websites they accused of spreading “disinformation” on Tuesday, a U.S. official said, a move that appeared to be a far-reaching crackdown on Iranian media amid heightened tensions between the two countries.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the case had not yet been officially announced by the American government, said the U.S. had seized roughly three dozen websites, the majority of which are linked to Iranian disinformation efforts.

Iran nuclear deal: President-elect Raisi issues warning over talks

Iran’s president-elect has welcomed the negotiations with world powers aimed at reviving a 2015 nuclear deal, but said they must guarantee national interests.

At his first news conference since his victory in Friday’s election, Ebrahim Raisi promised he would not allow the talks in Vienna to be dragged out.

He also insisted that Iran’s ballistic missile programme was “not negotiable”.

Biden will give them anything they want.

DeSantis edges out Trump in 2024 straw poll, Tucker Carlson rules out bid

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis edged out ​former President Donald Trump as conservatives’ choice for president in 2024 in a straw poll conducted over the weekend — as Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced that he is not considering a run for the White House.

DeSantis pulled in 74 percent approval to Trump’s 71 percent in the poll conducted at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver.

Joe Biden entered the Oval Office with no mandate of any kind. The Senate is deadlocked. Democrats in the House hold a razor-thin majority. Joe himself is widely considered by many Americans to be an illegitimate President who took power based on widespread electoral fraud.

Under these circumstances one might normally anticipate four years of standing pat, playing it safe and steering toward the middle. These, however, are not normal times. Biden’s administration is under the control of zealots and insurrectionists bent on transforming America and making revolutionary change. “Bulls–t:” US congressman condemns extension of Canada-US border closure

US Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-D) had some harsh words for the Trudeau government when he learned the Canada-US will remain closed for another month.

On Friday, Public Safety Minister Bill Blair announced the border closure for non-essential travel would be extended until at least July 21. The border has been closed since March 16, 2020.

Higgins, who represents the border cities of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, took to Twitter to say the decision is harmful and disrespectful to residents of both countries.

“There’s no other way to say: another month’s delay is bulls–t,” tweeted the congressman.

The previous US administration had designated Iran’s proxies, the Houthis, a terrorist group.

‘Unplanned’ outages hit Texas power plants in soaring temperatures

Officials with Texas’ power grid operator pleaded with residents Monday to limit their electrical usage amid soaring temperatures and a series of mechanical problems at power plants.

The appeal, from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, comes four months after deadly blackouts during a winter storm left millions of people without power — and weeks after state legislators passed a package of measures aimed at fixing some of the problems exposed by the storm.
