Global disruption looms large over biggest-ever Davos

Competing interests same goal any way you slice it.

Apart from the snow and the temperature, Greenland does not have much in common with the Swiss alps. But the fight for the future of the island looms over the gathering of world leaders and businesses at the World Economic Forum (WEF) this week.

Indeed, the timing of Donald Trump’s extraordinary threat seems likely to have had this meeting in mind.

Trump loves Davos – which is beyond strange given the views of his base.

Why the energy transition needs a global critical materials databank

Critical materials (also referred to as critical minerals) – such as cobalt, chromium, copper, graphite, lithium, silver and others – are essential for the needs of the energy transition, because they are increasingly used in the production of clean energy technologies, namely solar panels, wind turbines, batteries and electric cars. Having access to and ensuring supply of critical materials are among the key drivers of technological innovation, as China’s clean energy manufacturing boom demonstrates.

Critical materials markets are characterized by complex geography and a complicated market structure of extraction, processing and the intermediate and final use of metals. This complexity requires the availability of quality data – but most mineral supply markets remain highly opaque due to limited information. This is a serious bottleneck that is already disrupting mineral supply chains and poses a risk to the ongoing energy transition.

Once widely considered the gathering of the elite of a future world government, the World Economic Forum is leaving a legacy of increasing irrelevance. To be sure, the snow was good; the AI art installation and occasional forays into witchcraft may have stirred some; but the whole thing has devolved into a cocktail party for the self-important, with diminishing bearing on world politics.

Argentina’s Feisty President, Javier Milei, Stuns Davos With Attack on Secret ‘Socialist’ Agenda of Moneyed Western Elites

Just when you thought it was safe to write off Davos as irremediably dull — think Antony Blinken with a side order of Tom Friedman — along comes the self-described “anarcho-capitalist” president of Argentina, Javier Milei, to shake up the Swiss town with a one-two punch to what he perceives to be the “socialist agenda” of various elites.

The tirade came in the form of a half-hour long speech to a full house of policy wonks and boldfaced names in the business world who were advised by Mr. Milei to choose freedom over socialist-style state control, “dammit.”

Trudeau Gov’t Partner With WEF For China-Style Social Credit System

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is actively promoting digital IDs. The Known Traveler Digital Identity (KTDI) is a WEF initiative that, according to its website, “brings together a global consortium of individuals, governments, authorities, and the travel industry to enhance security in world travel.”

“Canada is KTDI’s most prominent member. Now, Canada wants to introduce a Federal Digital Identity Program.”

It is not “Canada” — it is our ruling Liberal government. It’s not “wants to introduce,” but rather “will force upon” Canadian society whether citizens like it or not.

Why not cut to the chase? Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in the process of transitioning Canada into a mini-replica of communist China– in which Digital ID is a critical component.
