WEF in China: Global economy in a slump

For a few days, a subway station in Dalian, China, will be renamed. Instead of simply Congress Center it is now plastered with huge decals that say “Annual Meeting of the New Champions.”

Outside, the streets and sidewalks are sparkling clean, access roads all around have been cleared far and wide. Colorful flags flutter in the wind.

Dalian, a city on the Yellow Sea in northeast China, is the proud host of this year’s Summer Davos, as the meeting is more commonly known.

I wonder if Freeland will attend.

Global Elites Think You Are an Idiot. Don’t Let Them Control Your Life

To fight globalism, we need more sovereignty — strong nations. Nations that are great again.

National leaders need to be far enough away that they can’t stick their snouts in your business, but close enough that we can give them a good ass-kicking. All the globalist pretensions from a world government presuppose the idea that they would do it better. Governing is like driving. We always think we drive better than the guy next to us. And they think that, being rich or powerful, they know better how to decide — from Washington, from Geneva, or from Brussels — what a farmer from Illinois, a car mechanic from Berlin, or a cattle farmer from Almeria needs and wants for his life. Why? For the same reason you think you drive better than everyone else — because everyone else is an idiot.

Klaus Schwab’s WEF exit marks the end of Davos Man

Klaus Schwab has decided it’s time to go. The 86-year-old Swiss-born entrepreneur is stepping down as the executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the elite social networking group he founded in 1971.

For over 50 years, Schwab has overseen the rise of a formidable business empire, worth £345 million in 2022/23, the most recent year for which we have annual accounts. The group includes the convention itself, which takes over Davos every January, and sister organisations such as Global Shapers, Young Global Leaders and Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneurs, the latter boasting “over 500 city based hubs”.  As well as a networking event, WEF is both a think tank and a sprawling network of ersatz NGOs.

Klaus Schwab Resigns as World Economic Forum Chairman. Sorta.

Klaus Schwab, founder and long-time executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), emailed staff on Tuesday to announce his intent to step down. The email indicated that Schwab, who has led the organization since 1971, will move to a non-executive chairman role. The transition is awaiting approval from the Swiss government and is anticipated to be completed before the WEF’s annual meeting in 2025.

Former Liberal Finance Minister’s Thank-You Letter to WEF Suggests More Collaboration Than Disclosed

Close interactions between Canadian cabinet ministers and the World Economic Forum are well-documented, but a newly revealed letter suggests forum staff may have been doing more work with the federal government than previously disclosed.

In an undated letter to a WEF official, former Finance Minister Bill Morneau praised the organization and its collaboration to achieve “common” objectives.

The Davos consensus is finally cracking

The bulk of reports percolating out of the WEF’s annual meeting have been scornful, revealing a proposed programme of enlightened elite global governance that is not going as planned. Geopolitics is back with a vengeance; the “energy transition” has turned out, so far, mostly to mean unilateral economic disarmament in favour of Russia and China. Populations are growing angry in the face of sharp rises in both mass migration and the cost of living.

Argentinian prez Javier Milei scolds Davos elites with common sense

A wise old friend once said to me that if Christianity died out, what would come next would not be atheism but polytheism.

That is, instead of worshipping one God, people would start worshipping a whole range of gods.

I thought of that yesterday while watching a Brazilian shaman called Putanny Yawanawa performing a native spiritual ceremony onstage at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Beware the WEF’s new misinformation panic

AI-powered lies and manipulation constitute the gravest threat to humanity. At least this is the dystopian scenario espoused by the collective wisdom of 1,500 experts surveyed in the World Economic Forum’s 2024 Global Risks Report last week.

Unfortunately, such outbreaks of “elite panic” are a recurring phenomenon. Whenever the public sphere is expanded through new communications technology, the traditional gatekeepers fret about the dangers of allowing the general public — too fickle and unlearned — unmediated access to information.

Feds Encourage Canadian Businesses to Join WEF’s Initiative to Advance Net-Zero Goal

The federal government is encouraging Canadian businesses to participate in a World Economic Forum (WEF) initiative that will use their buying power to drive decarbonization across seven industries globally, record shows.

Endorsement of the First Movers Coalition (FMC), which the federal Liberals joined as government partner in January, is contained in a document tabled in Parliament on Dec. 11 in response to questions posed by Conservative MP Leslyn Lewis in October.

Ms. Lewis asked what obligations and actions Ottawa has undertaken to fulfill its commitments as a partner of the FMC.

Klaus Schwab & WEF’s Secret Blueprint to Control Every Aspect of Your Life

Klaus Schwab took $6,000 in seed money in 1971 and transformed the World Economic Forum (WEF) from a humble gathering of academics into the most exclusive club in the world. The WEF now rakes in $390 million, annually.

Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, Their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life follows the money beyond the politicians—and their petty squabbles in Washington—straight to top: Davos. It is in this tiny Alpine town that the jet-setting billionaires and shadowy bureaucrats are plotting out the next decade of our lives.

Canada Has Spent Over $23 Million on WEF Projects

Since November 2015, Canada’s federal government has sent nearly $23.5 million to projects involving the World Economic Forum (WEF), documents obtained by The Epoch Times show.

The numbers are contained in a 127-page response tabled in the House of Commons Sept. 18 to a question posed in June by Conservative MP Leslyn Lewis.

The WEF and the Climate Cult: Colluding for a World-wide Welfare State

One should never underestimate the Left’s propensity for projecting its sins upon its victims; nor, when the Left does manage to admit the destructive effects of their regressive ideology, to proclaim these disastrous consequences as fundamental transformational and “liberation.” To avoid such a fraught misunderstanding, one must ever remember the Left perverts the purported rationale of every entity captured in their “long march” through the institutions.

To wit: The World Economic Forum (WEF).
