Sounds like the most awful neighborhood in Toronto …

Agents of change

A small neighbourhood in Toronto has built a program to help residents reduce their household emissions. Could their grassroots approach become a template for the rest of the country?

On a snow-flecked Sunday afternoon in mid-December, Paul Dowsett gathered a group of neighbours in his backyard for a toast.

Although the event featured mulled wine and a crackling bonfire, this was no holiday party. Rather, it was an event to celebrate homeowners in the Pocket — an east Toronto neighbourhood — who have committed to an energy retrofit to reduce their carbon footprint.

A Pocket resident since 1997, Dowsett is an architect by trade and a local sage on matters of sustainability. Dressed in a striking green lumber jacket, the 61-year-old extolled his neighbours’ climate consciousness, and after a breezy explainer on the environmental harms of natural gas, related some breaking news.

‘Woke’ $10M MLK ‘penis’ statue insults black community: Coretta Scott King kin

Even some kin of Coretta Scott King hate the new $10 million sculpture just dedicated to her and her iconic civil rights leader husband in Boston — with a cousin claiming it “looks like a penis.”

The massive bronze piece, titled “The Embrace,” features two sets of arms holding each other, an artistic interpretation of the classic photo of Coretta and hubby Martin Luther King Jr. hugging after he won the Nobel Peace Price in 1964.

“The mainstream media … was reporting on it like it was all beautiful, ’cause they were told they had to say that,” Seneca Scott, Coretta’s cousin, told The Post by phone Sunday, referring to the new artwork on the Boston Common.

CCP State Media Praises ‘Davos Spirit’ as Conference Begins

As the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Davos 2023 conference is set to begin on Monday and elitist attendees fly a thousand private jets to Switzerland to lecture on the climate crisis, one country seems particularly enthusiastic for the event to begin. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state propaganda outlet Global Times praised the “Davos Spirit” in a tweet, claiming, “China’s ideals and achievements also made the Davos Spirit more dazzling.”

Girl weeps as she recalls seeing naked cross-dresser’s penis in women’s changing room at California YMCA – and says woke staff scolded her for complaining

A Californian teenager sobbed before the city council as she told of her trauma at seeing ‘a naked man’ she says was a transgender woman inside the women’s changing rooms at her local YMCA.

Rebecca Philips, 17, addressed the meeting in Santee, a city suburb of San Diego, on Wednesday night to demand reform to the existing policy after encountering the unidentified individual.

She told the council how, two weeks ago, she was getting changed after swimming at the Santee YMCA when she saw a transgender woman naked in the changing rooms.

The real “school to prison” pipeline

The Left likes to complain about a so-called “school to prison pipeline,” where school disciplinary policies drive at-risk kids into a life of crime.

Every Leftist organization under the sun has been attacking the issue, pushing for more lax discipline in the schools to “decriminalize” kids.

The ADL of all people–which at one time was not a ridiculous organization–describes the pipeline thusly …

Young people turning to Satanism instead of ‘stuffy’ Christianity

Leaders of the religion claim its opportunities for people to engage in activism on issues such as gender and sexuality is appealing

“With our rituals, there’s never any murder, there’s never any sacrifice, there’s never any blood rites to Satan. We don’t worship the devil. We don’t cast magic spells…”

In fact, as the Global Order of Satan UK – as well as other leaders and members of Satanic groups around the world insist – it would be difficult to spot a Satanist walking down the street.

Yet while the macabre occult rituals, virgin sacrifices, chalices of blood and belief in the actual Devil are a thing of the past, Satanism is luring increasing numbers of young people disillusioned with “outdated” and “dogmatic” traditional religions to join its fold by offering an “alternative” to “stuffy”, traditional faiths.

LAPD blasted by almost 10,000 of its own cops for ‘political pandering’ after it bans the Thin Blue Line flag

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has banned the Thin Blue Line flag from public areas within police departments this week over a complaint that the flag represents ‘violent, extremist views.’

The ‘thin blue line’ typically refers to the concept of the police as the line which keeps society from descending into violent chaos and has been used by the ‘Blue Lives Matter’ movement which began in December 2014 after the homicide of two New York Police Department (NYPD) officers.

Poilievre gives speech to group facing criticism for residential school, discrimination comments

Conservative party Leader Pierre Poilievre defended his decision Friday to speak to a think tank that has come under fire for comments on residential schools and discrimination.

“We speak with groups all the time with which we disagree,” Poilievre said in an interview after his speech to the Frontier Centre for Public Policy in Winnipeg.

In 2018, the centre ran radio ads, which were soon pulled, that said it was a myth residential schools robbed Indigenous children of their childhood.

Last summer, the centre posted a commentary on its website that said stories about murdered and secretly buried residential schoolchildren are highly suspicious, if not completely false. And last month, the centre posted an article that said anti-white male policies represent the only systemic discrimination there is.
