Big Tech must not be judge, jury and executioner

YouTube’s clampdown on Russell Brand is an affront to due process.

I’m almost surprised it took them this long. Barely three days after comic, actor and self-styled online guru Russell Brand was accused of rape and sexual assault – as part of a blockbuster Sunday Times, Times and Channel 4 investigation – YouTube has ‘demonetised’ all of his videos on its platform, depriving him of any advertising income.

America’s sanctuary cities are falling apart

Places like New York are struggling to deal with an influx of migrants

If it were not so tragic, it would be funny. For years the progressive Left — in the US as well as across the West — has boasted about its willingness to accept people even if they have arrived in America illegally. With over one million having crossed the border illegally since Joe Biden took office — and their numbers are rising — the facade of the sanctuary city is falling apart.

Watching Girls Die Online

When raw food influencer Zhanna Samsonova died in July at the age of 39, after reportedly eating only fruit for the past seven years, she was just the latest person to join a tragic club: anorexic influencers who have starved themselves to death in public. Other recent examples include Amy Ellis earlier this year, who had 140K followers on TikTok, and Josi Maria in 2020, who had 138K followers on Instagram. There was also Kylie Jaye, a so-called fitness guru who died a few weeks before her birthday, and Nikki Grahame, a reality TV star, who was found dead the following month in her London flat in April 2021.

Extinction Rebellion activists killed dozens of fish with green-dye protest, says mayor

Activists from the Extinction Rebellion movement have been accused of killing fish in the river and fountains of a French town with a bright green dye that they poured in the water to protest against a toxic waste project.

Éric Straumann, the mayor of Colmar, an Alsatian town whose waterside district is known as Little Venice, said dozens of dead fish were found floating on the surface after the protesters dumped drums of fluorescein in the River Lauch at the weekend.

Black Lives Matter Protests Led to Fewer Police Killings, More Murders: Study

During the five-year period of the study, reported murders rose by about 11.5 percent.

While police killings declined in the aftermath of Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests, a recent study found that there was a jump in homicides as police became “less proactive” due to worries about public perception and lawsuits.

The Sept. 14 study analyzed two major waves of BLM protests—those following the death of Michael Brown, from 2014 to 2015, and those following the death of George Floyd, from 2020 to 2021.

Police defend use of Taser on 12-year-old who allegedly assaulted Oshawa school staff member

Identifies as 12 year old girl

Police are defending the use of a Taser to stop a 12-year-old girl from allegedly assaulting a school staff member in Oshawa.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Durham Police Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss said that officers called to Sir Albert Love Catholic School on Monday morning had to make a “split second decision” amid what she said was an active assault call.

“She (the girl) was actively violently assaulting a female staff member of that school. That female staff member did have injuries. That assault was ongoing and officers made the decision at the time to deploy the Taser and it was effective,” she said.

Tasha Kheiriddin: Trudeau, China have most to gain from India tensions

The House of Commons is back — and with it, a crisis no one saw coming. On Monday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that “Over the past number of weeks, Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India and the killing of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar.” Trudeau then intoned, “Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty.”

It sounds like Trudeau is working for China to me.

Men in ‘frightening’ Nazi uniforms clash with locals at 1940s festival

A brawl broke out at a 1940s festival after a group of people turned up dressed in Nazi uniforms.

The annual Second World War-themed event in Sheringham, north Norfolk, drew up to 25,000 people, many of them in period dress, at the weekend.

Among them was a group of at least 10 men in Nazi-era German uniforms, including some with SS markings on their collars as well as badges featuring the “death’s head” symbol and swastikas.

No one takes Junior seriously: Canada’s allies rebuff its requests to join in accusations against India

Weeks before Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau aired an explosive accusation that Indian officials may have been behind the slaying of a Sikh separatist leader in British Columbia, Ottawa asked its closest allies, including Washington, to publicly condemn the murder. But the overtures were rebuffed, underscoring the diplomatic balancing act facing the Biden administration and its allies as they work to court an Asian power seen as a crucial counterweight to China.

Junior is such a loser. A desperate call to the Star was made…

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre urges PM Trudeau to reveal evidence of India’s role in killing of Canadian Sikh leader

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Tuesday to provide Canadians with hard evidence that agents of the Indian government were behind the slaying of a prominent Sikh leader that has led to a deep chill in Indo-Canadian relations.
The Prime Minister announced Monday that Ottawa had credible intelligence that India carried out the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and it expelled India’s top foreign intelligence officer in the High Commission in Ottawa.

No wonder Junior looked like someone pissed in his cornflakes….

India read the riot act to the Canadian NSA during the G-20 summit

PM Justin Trudeau is playing vote bank politics in singling out India for interference in internal affairs of Canada. He just does not have a case.

Days after chief of proscribed Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) Hardeep Singh Nijjar was gunned down by unidentified men in Vancouver on June 18, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar went on record stating that rise of so-called Khalistan politics was driven by “vote bank politics” in Canada.

Why we’re all populists now

If events continue to take their current course, the world in 2070 will be as different from today as that of 1970 was from 1920

Fifteen years ago, populist politicians and parties were seen as a reactionary blip which would soon fade. They are instead not only still present but rapidly gaining strength and power across the developed world.

It’s well past time to wonder if populist sentiments will fade. It’s rather time to consider the heretofore unthinkable: perhaps populism will be to the twenty-first century what labor union-backed social democracy was to the twentieth.
