EU’s Top Military Chief: Ukraine Counteroffensive Is Floundering

The EU’s top general warned in an interview with the German Die Welt this week that the Russian war machine has much more longevity than most observers believe and that the current Ukrainian counteroffensive is failing to produce the results needed to restore the nation’s full territorial integrity.

Four-star Austrian general and chair of the European Union’s Military Committee (EUMC) General Robert Brieger said he was “cautious to expect a breakthrough” by Ukrainian ground forces as President Zelensky again reiterated his country’s commitment to retaking Crimea, which has been under Russian occupation since 2014.

How internet sleuths are already trying to prove Lucy Letby innocent

After 10 months of harrowing evidence and lengthy, rigorous cross-examinations, the neonatal nurse Lucy Letby was eventually convicted of murdering seven babies who were in her care and attempting to kill six more, making her the most prolific child serial killer in modern history.

She has been given multiple whole life terms, and there are calls for a full government inquiry into how this was allowed to happen at the hospital where she continued to work for three years after whistleblowers spoke up. The judge, Mr Justice Goss, said the “cruelty and calculation” of Letby’s actions between June 2015 and June 2016 were “truly horrific”.

Wolfgang Münchau: the end of the German era

AfD voters are rebelling against a failing economy

For decades, Germany was a beacon of centrist political stability. During her 16-year leadership, Angela Merkel led a succession of grand coalitions which neutralised the political extremes, and piloted her country through an era of steady economic growth.

Today, that political settlement has dissolved. Germany’s reliance on Russian gas has devastated its industrial economy, while the surface tranquillity of the Merkel era is a distant memory. Alternative für Deutschland, a far-Right populist party, has been the beneficiary of this chaos, surging in the polls to become the second-most popular party in Germany.

No 911 call…No toxicology…No ID of witness: What are the Obamas trying to hide about death of their personal chef?

Big Mike got jealous?

Police in Massachusetts are continuing to cover up information about the death of Obama personal chef Tafari Campbell even after declaring the case closed this week, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The response has prompted an outcry from First Amendment advocates who have been left asking: ‘What do they have to hide?’

And it has also sparked a plethora of conspiracy theories including the role of the former president’s family in the cover-up and Campbell’s relationship with the unidentified woman who witnessed his death.

China’s Real Estate Woes Send Another Warning to Canada

Canada should follow US lead in decoupling from China, says business professor

The global economy has been waiting for China’s post-COVID economic boom, but that has not materialized. And the opposite could well be playing out, with analysts saying Canada has yet another reminder to wean itself off China.

At issue is China’s bloated property market, which by some estimates makes up over 25 percent of China’s economy. At risk are commodity prices, which had been given a long-term boost from China’s overbuilding of real estate.

Decouple from China? It won’t happen.

The sole purpose of the Liberal Party is to ensure that our China Class is able to enrich themselves at the ChiCom trough.

In return the LPC and friends surrender our nation’s sovereignty to their ChiCom masters.

Jacksonville Dollar General shooting leaves four people dead including gunman whose assault rifle was covered in Nazi swastikas for ‘racially motivated’ attack

A shooting at a Florida Dollar General store in Northwest Jacksonville which left three black people dead was ‘racially motivated,’ officials say.

The incident, which also saw the white gunman die from a self-inflicted gun wound, on Saturday is being investigated as a hate crime by the FBI and local authorities.

The suspected shooter used an assault rifle covered in Nazi swastikas in the attack, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Conrad Black: The often-ignored truth

With reluctance, I revisit Aboriginal issues, to assault directly the federal government’s compulsive pious posturing about what is commonly and misleadingly called “reconciliation.” Practically everyone agrees that Canada’s First Nations have many legitimate grievances and wishes justice for them. To accomplish this, we must not only produce a radically new policy; we must also undo the injustices we have inflicted on ourselves. The controversy over the “unmarked graves of missing children” has gone quiet, presumably because its propagators declined to use the money that has been allocated to establish whether there are any such graves. This controversy blew up so quickly into shocking charges bandied about and repeated all over the world that a pause enables us to review them briefly with no hyperbole.

Truth and justice die when your career can be destroyed by a claim you can’t disprove

What are the most damaging claims you can make about someone in our society? The ones that would truly damage – if not ruin – the reputation of anyone they were levelled against.

There is “murderer”, I suppose. “Paedophile”, definitely. And then there is “racist”. All are highly reputationally destructive, especially if asserted repeatedly.

But notice that there is a difference between these charges. The first two can be fought in a court and can be easily disproved if they are wrong. If someone claimed, online or off, that you had murdered someone, then you could take them to court for slander or libel and it could be shown in court that you had not in fact murdered anyone. They would have to prove that you did, and if they couldn’t, then they would be in trouble. The same goes for the charge of paedophilia. If someone made that charge against you, it would be possible to sue them and they would be shown in court to have made a baseless claim.

Fani’s Gift to Trump

He will spell out in excruciating detail and with ample evidence why he challenged the 2020 election.

If Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis didn’t exist, Donald Trump would have had to invent her.

Thanks to her bizarre RICO indictment of Trump for allegedly conspiring to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election, Willis has afforded him the opportunity to publish and monetize his history-making mugshot. That arrest photo of Trump scowling beneath the seal of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is and will continue to be the gift that keeps on giving as it appears on billboards, yard signs, posters, bumper stickers, T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, coffee mugs, the internet, and TV.

Jon Stewart’s Real Legacy Is A Generation Of Smug, Lazy, Dishonest News Consumers

In a recent tweet critiquing the legacy of Jon Stewart, I summarized that for my generation, who were coming of age during 9/11 and the war in Iraq, we were desperately in search of anyone who could cut through the corporate media partisanship. We craved an everyman to tell it like it was. We were given Jon Stewart. And just like he taught us, we became smug, disingenuous, and lazy thinkers.

The post went viral with Elon Musk weighing in, stating, “I rather liked the old Daily Show and Colbert Report. But now they’ve gone off in a direction that is…” Thousands agreed.

Portland’s Predictable Doom Loop

The people elected and selected to run Portland, Oregon, are like kids who get their first car and never think to change the oil. The city is led by a cadre of ardent leftists who thought they could just rev the engine, ignore maintenance, and see the city magically run itself. Instead, they’ve driven the City of Roses into a Doom Loop.

Toronto’s fate is sealed.

Leftists will always promise a brighter tomorrow that never arrives no matter how much money is spent.

Things will only get worse in TO just as they do in every US city controlled by Democrats.

Iran’s Religious Influence Spreading throughout the United States

The Iranian regime is advancing its ideology and increasing its influence in Shia mosques throughout the United States, while the Biden administration is sitting idly by, presumably still seeking to return to a disastrous nuclear deal, lift sanctions against Iran, and fund the regime to launch more terrorist attacks, further repress its own citizens, and pave the way for it legally to obtain an unlimited supply of nuclear weapons.
