Randall Denley: Ontario can’t handle Trudeau’s immigration influx

The news that Ontario’s population grew by just over 500,000 in the last 12 months is a bit alarming, given that the number is equal to Canada’s entire annual immigration target. Ontario’s total is about double its typical population growth.

Does a province desperately short of housing and health-care services really need another 500,000 people? It’s time politicians took a serious look at that question.

Large objects seen on roof of Ukraine nuclear reactor increase fears of Russia attack

Five large objects have been photographed on the roof of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, increasing fears that Russia may be preparing to blow it up.

Satellite images of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, taken by San Francisco-based Planet Labs on 5th July, showed that packages had been placed on the roof of Reactor No. 4.

None of the objects can be identified but this week, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was planning on blowing up the plant and then blaming it on Ukraine.

Jamie Sarkonak: Principal berated for ‘white supremacy’ sues TDSB over equity training

The problem with workplace diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training is that it can involve the berating of staff so bad that it leads to worker’s compensation claims — and even lawsuits.

It’s a lesson that’s currently being learned by Toronto District School Board (TDSB). In April, principal Richard Bilkszto sued TDSB for its failure to defend him in an allegedly hostile DEI training session that took place in 2021, where it was insinuated that he was a white supremacist for defending Canada as a less-racist place than the United States. TDSB has since sued the company that gave the DEI training, the KOJO Institute, for negligence and for breaching contract — asking for damages in the amount it will need to pay Bilkszto if he wins.

Biden Weighs Giving Ukraine Weapons Banned by Many U.S. Allies

Biden is in charge of tapioca

For more than six months, President Biden and his aides have been wrestling with one of the most vexing questions in the war in Ukraine: whether to risk letting Ukrainian forces run out of the artillery rounds they desperately need to fight Russia, or agree to ship them cluster munitions — widely banned weapons known to cause grievous injury to civilians, especially children.

On Thursday, Mr. Biden appeared on the verge of providing the cluster munitions to Ukraine, a step that would sharply separate him from many of his closest allies, who have signed an international treaty banning the use, stockpiling or transfer of such weapons.

‘Massively expensive’: Canadian Taxpayers Federation takes aim at $15B deal for Windsor battery plant

The $15-billion agreement to keep an electric vehicle (EV) battery plant in Windsor, Ont., is “massively expensive for taxpayers,” says the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

“These big corporations are getting buckets of cash courtesy of cost to taxpayers while the rest of us get tax hikes,” said Franco Terrazzano, federal director for the Ottawa-based federation.

“We have governments that are choosing to help multinational corporations over taxpayers.”

Military recruitment in the Canadian Armed Forces dropped by 35 percent in 2022, with only 5,242 volunteers signing up compared to 8,069 in 2021, according to a federal briefing note by the Department of National Defence.

Harper says right-leaning parties should have closer ties with Hungary

Former prime minister Stephen Harper says he wants closer ties between right-leaning political parties including the Conservative Party of Canada and the Hungarian government, who has been accused of democratic backsliding.

Harper chairs the International Democrat Union, a global alliance of right-leaning political parties that includes Canada’s Conservatives as well as the Fidesz Party led by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Our media is “Outraged” or “Appalled” and Harper is Hitler of course.

One Canadian grocer is already putting metal security tags on steaks to prevent theft — will others follow?

When Ian Runkle set off the security alarm on his way out of an Edmonton Walmart in May, he didn’t pause for the store guard who called after him. Runkle had rightfully paid for all his groceries at the self-checkout, and as a criminal defence lawyer, knew his rights.

“I kept walking because I’m not really under any obligation to stop,” he said. When cooking dinner later that night, Runkle found the culprit — a small, metal security tag hidden under the label of the steak he had purchased. The checkout machine didn’t catch it.

Two ISIS monsters and three children on way home from detention camps in Syria

Two Canadian women and three children on way home from detention camps in Syria

OTTAWA – Two women and three children who were temporarily missing in Syria after failing to board a repatriation flight to Canada in April are finally on their way home.

The women and children were among a group of 19 people Canada agreed to bring home from Kurdish-operated prison camps in northeastern Syria in January.

They have been held for years at displaced persons camps in a region now controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.

Stupid move allowing murder cultists into your home.
