In Minneapolis—birthplace of the nationwide defund-the-police movement— another viral police killing has ignited a local firestorm. But the circumstances of this case, in contrast to George Floyd’s death in police custody, have highlighted the activist Left’s perverse prioritization of violent criminals over their victims and the folly of one of their preferred policing reforms.
On July 13, at about 9:30 P.M., police responded to a call from 24-year-old Arabella Foss-Yarbrough, a mother of two young children. She told police that a man had “shot through” her apartment while she was cooking dinner for her kids, adding, “I don’t know if I should shoot back. I have [a] license to carry.”

Following the escape of the hostages and the subsequent storming of the synagogue by law enforcement—which resulted in the death of Akram—dialogue and discussion ensued regarding issues of anti-Semitism in the United States, synagogue security and the Jewish community’s general sense of safety.

Ukraine war: Russian investigator says 92 Ukrainians charged with war crimes
Moscow has charged 92 members of the Ukrainian armed forces with crimes against humanity, the head of Russia’s investigative committee has said.
Alexander Bastrykin told government news site Rossiiskaya Gazeta over 1,300 criminal investigations had begun.
He also proposed an international tribunal backed by countries including Iran, Syria and Bolivia – traditional allies of Russia.
Ukraine is also conducting its own war crimes investigations.
3 confirmed dead, including suspect, after multiple shootings in Langley, B.C.
Two victims are dead and two others are seriously hurt after a series of shootings at several different locations in Langley, B.C., prompted emergency alerts early Monday.
A suspect was later identified and shot dead by police.
RCMP were called to the downtown core of the City of Langley and the neighbouring Township of Langley for reported shootings “in the early hours of the morning,” according to a statement.
Blair, Lucki tell Commons committee they didn’t meddle in N.S. shooting probe
Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair and RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki told a House of Commons committee Monday that they did not interfere in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigation into the 2020 mass shooting in Nova Scotia.
“Let me begin, and let me be clear. I did not interfere in the investigation around this tragedy,” Lucki told members of the House of Commons public safety and national security committee.
“Specifically, I was not directed to publicly release information about weapons used by the perpetrator to help advance pending gun control legislation.”
