Would America survive a civil war?

The US army could not withstand an insurgency

Historically speaking, empires on average last for around 250 years, after which they tend to either slowly — or very, very quickly — fall apart due to overreach and internal conflict. Somewhat ominously, the 250th birthday of America is coming up in 2026.

Yet when, towards the end of Trump’s presidency, a radical friend of mine told me that he thought America was headed for civil war, I dismissed the argument out of hand. Why? How? It takes a unique confluence of mistakes and crises for civil war to appear possible, and an even longer list of mistakes, crises and elite screw-ups for them to happen.

Keep burning those fossil fuels – Mankind’s use of coal, oil and gas is a very wonderful thing.

Fossil fuel. No two words evoke greater disgust in the 21st century. Newsreaders utter these dread words with naked disdain. Green campaigners speak of fossil fuels in the same fearful, besmirching tones that medieval Christians would have used when speaking of Beelzebub. Google these two F-words and you’ll be treated to photo after photo of black, choking factories. ‘Keep it in the ground!’, environmentalists cry, convinced that humanity’s digging for coal, oil and gas, and our burning of these long dormant fuels to create energy, has propelled our planet into a hellscape of pollution. The Extinction Rebellion death cult marches behind banners declaring ‘Fossil fuels = death’. These dug-up fossils are ‘fuelling the apocalypse’, academics claim.

Step Aside, Trans People, The Left has a New Mission: Normalizing Pedophilia

Communist goal #26Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as “normal, natural, and healthy.”

The left is trying to normalize the idea of adult sex with children, and what better way to make pedophiles seem normal than to give them a nice name. Leftists are now referring to pedos as “MAPs” which is short for “minor-attracted persons.” Don’t be fooled: a pedophile is a pedophile, no matter what the pinkos choose to call them.

When All The Media Narratives Collapse

In case after case, the US MSM just keeps getting it wrong.

The news is a perilous business. It’s perilous because the first draft of history is almost always somewhat wrong, and needs a second draft, and a third, and so on, over time, until the historian can investigate with more perspective and calm. The job of journalists is to do as best they can, day by day, and respond swiftly when they screw up, correct the record, and move forward. I’ve learned this the hard way, not least in the combination of credulousness and trauma I harbored in the wake of 9/11.

But when the sources of news keep getting things wrong, and all the errors lie in the exact same direction, and they are reluctant to acknowledge error, we have a problem. If you look back at the last few years, the record of errors, small and large, about major stories, is hard to deny. It’s as if the more Donald Trump accused the MSM of being “fake news” the more assiduously they tried to prove him right.

Jack Mintz: Will Alberta become a ‘have-not’ province if it loses oil and gas?

With the prime minister’s declaration in Glasgow last week that the screws will be tightened on oil and gas emissions to achieve net zero by 2050, it is not far-fetched to suppose that Alberta could eventually become a “have-not” province. Even with good news, such as Amazon’s $4-billion investment in a Calgary hub, a declining oil and gas sector will erode Alberta’s growth.

Canada letting another ISIS terrorist back in

Mother of Canadian girl freed from ISIS detention camp in Syria heading to Canada soon

The Canadian government has issued an emergency passport to the mother of a young girl who was freed from an ISIS detention camp in northeastern Syria earlier this year so she can return home to Canada and reunite with her daughter.

“It’s going to be the best moment of my life,” the woman told CBC News. “That moment is all I’ve been thinking about this whole time.”

CBC News is not naming the woman because of security reasons, and to protect her daughter.

The woman and her daughter were being held in a Syrian detention camp for people with alleged ties to ISIS

The Real Crime in Kenosha

It’s injustice from top to bottom in Kenosha, and it’s provoked by the media.

The media crime syndicate strikes again, targeting a teenager and creating mayhem in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Will they pay a price? Doubtful.

Kenosha, Wisconsin, a mid-sized midwestern town on the west side of Lake Michigan, has around 99,000 residents. There are family-owned restaurants and businesses and neighbors know one another. Kenosha is about five minutes from the Illinois border. It’s two hours to Chicago or Madison and 45 minutes to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Liberals leaving nuclear’s future ‘to the market’ while other countries bet big

OTTAWA – While other major economies are making big bets on nuclear energy to get to a carbon neutral future, Canada’s Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault says the market will decide which carbon-free technologies replace fossil fuels.

Want an electric car? You better go BIG for nuclear. Of course our “betters” don’t want the peasants driving at all.

The myth of St Meghan – When will the liberal left admit that they went to the barricades for two vapid, privileged chancers?

Not for the first time, Meghan Markle’s ‘truth’ has apparently collided with the actual truth.

Over a three-day hearing at the Court of Appeal this week, the Duchess of Sussex admitted to misleading the High Court as key parts of her privacy case against Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Mail on Sunday, were called into question.

Liberals’ Plan to Curb ‘Internet Harms’ Puts Free Speech at Risk: Expert

The Liberal government’s upcoming legislation to address “online harms” could undermine Canadians’ freedom of speech and render diasporas from authoritarian countries more vulnerable, says the director of an internet security advocacy group.

Between July 27 and Sept. 25, the federal government held public consultations on its proposal to introduce new legislative and regulatory frameworks for social media platforms that aim to address five categories of “harmful content” online: hate speech, terrorist content, content that incites violence, child sexual exploitation, and non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
