EV tax credit ‘not good news’ for Canada, ambassador to U.S. says

Canada’s ambassador to the U.S. stressed further that a proposed tax credit that encourages electric vehicle production in the U.S. would cause harm to Canada’s economy.

“It’s not good news for Canada. It’s also really not good news for the U.S.,” Ambassador Kirsten Hillman said during an interview with Global News’ Mercedes Stephenson on The West Block.

Biden loves kicking Trudeau in the nuts, and who can blame him, so this proposed credit may come to pass. The Liberal – left don’t want you allowed to drive anything anyway, not even a horse and buggy. Frankly Justin and his fellow Eco-Cultists are likely very happy at the prospect that vehicles of any type will not be manufactured or assembled in Canada.

Canada has no choice but to bar Huawei from 5G mobile networks, security experts say

OTTAWA — As the Liberal government prepares to unfurl its policy on next-generation mobile networks, global security experts say all signs point to the exclusion of Chinese vendor Huawei Technologies from the long-awaited blueprint.

The development of 5G, or fifth-generation, networks will give people speedier online connections and provide vast data capacity to meet ravenous demand as more and more things link to the internet and innovations such as virtual reality, immersive gaming and autonomous vehicles emerge.

The opposition Conservatives have long pressed the Liberals to deny Huawei a role in building the country’s 5G infrastructure, saying it would allow Beijing to spy on Canadians more easily.

At a tense moment for Canada-U.S. relations, Trudeau travels to D.C. for trilateral talks

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will travel to Washington this week for the first Three Amigos summit in five years — a trilateral meeting with U.S. and Mexican leaders that has been dismissed in the past as high on symbolism and low on substance.

The one-day summit comes at a challenging time for the Canada-U.S. relationship.

The election of U.S. President Joe Biden was celebrated by many in Canada as the dawn of a new era in bilateral relations after the fractious four-year term of his predecessor, Donald Trump. During his campaign, Biden promised a return to “normalcy” and better relations with U.S. allies; the revival of the once-dormant Three Amigos gathering is a sign that the Trump-era froideur is over.

The average home price in Canada rose over 50 per cent last year

As reported by CBC , “The Canadian Real Estate Association says the average price of a home in this country has gone up more than 50 per cent in the last five years. Nationally, the average home price in September was up 13.9 per cent from the same month last year.” This is obviously a boon for those who already own a home in Canada, but it represents key opportunities for growth for those who are not yet involved with the property market – or those who are interested in further investment.
