Charter is being “violated and abused” by COVID policies: former Newfoundland premier

Brian Peckford is the last living premier involved in the construction and adoption of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Now, the former Newfoundland and Labrador premier says the Charter and parliamentary democracy are being “violated and abused” by governments whose pandemic policies have taken aim at freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, and other Charter-guaranteed rights as well. As the Charter’s 40th anniversary nears, Peckford joined True North’s The Andrew Lawton Show to speak out about the “collective psychosis” he says is afflicting Canada.

AHS Removed 26,255 Staff Members to Achieve 92 Percent Vaccination Rate

Last week internal reports showed that Alberta Health Service staff were vaccinated at a rate of only 66 percent, with 69,442 employees being confirmed to be vaccinated out of 105,209.

Justin Trudeau Replacing Democracy With Enforced Liberalism

Can an abundance of so-called “coincidences” reach a point where they validate a fundamental truth? With this in mind, let us consider current political structure in Canada.

In a recent article entitled “Yesterday’s Conspiracy Theory Is Today’s Policy,” Canadian journalist Spencer Fernando reflects the principle:

“Vaccine passports went from being illegal, to being imposed, and then extended indefinitely.”

The Impending Mass Firing of America’s Unvaccinated

Police, firefighters, doctors, nurses, paramedics, airport security and prison guards across the country are facing termination this week if they don’t comply with their employers’ vaccine requirements. Many have already lost their jobs or have been disciplined. Other say they will defy the vaccine mandates on principle. As a result, essential workers may soon be in short supply in many parts of America.

Left-handed? You are now just as oppressed as black people, gays, and hamsters

Like the time you tried to open a door for an oppressed female and you had to backhand the door and even fumbled it a little bit because doors are made for righties. You looked like a bozo, and let’s be honest: you never had a chance at this chick in the first place. You’re left handed!

Not to alarm you, but the robot dogs now have sniper rifles

We haven’t checked in on SKYNET and the coming robot revolution for a while, but there has been yet another leap forward in potentially lethal robotic technology. Unveiled in Washington, DC last weekend, a new robotic “dog” was on display, but this time it didn’t come from Boston Dynamics. The similarities are significant, but this dog is the product of Ghost Robotics, a Philadelphia robotics company that provides “solutions for commercial and military partners.” Of course, there is one striking difference between this robotic dog and the previous ones we’ve looked at here. Boston Dynamics does not (at least not yet, to my knowledge) offer an actual sniper rifle as an optional accessory. This one does, and it’s fully functional.

Bataclan survivors recall being held hostage as gunmen fired on crowd

Group of 11 were forced to watch massacre and then used as human shields, trial over Paris attacks hears

Survivors of the 2015 terrorist attack on the Bataclan concert hall in Paris have described their fear and panic when they were held hostage in a corridor for more than two hours by two gunmen armed with Kalashnikovs and wearing explosive vests.

Three witnesses – one a 23-year-old barman at the time of the attack and two IT workers who were in their 30s – told France’s biggest ever criminal trial how they were among 11 people first forced to watch as the gunmen took pleasure in targeting and shooting concertgoers from a balcony, and then taken to a narrow upstairs corridor and used as human shields.

Eric Zemmour: Far-right journalist cast as Macron election rival

Eric Zemmour

There were still 100 people queuing outside the auditorium when they closed the doors. Not bad for a man who hasn’t officially declared his candidacy yet.

Eric Zemmour is shaking up France’s presidential race before it’s even begun.

And his rally in the small southern town of Béziers made an unsettling image for France’s far-right leader, Marine Le Pen. Polls suggest he’s on track to challenge her for leadership of the nationalist hard-right in France.

The child of Jewish Algerian immigrants, Zemmour has long drawn attention for his controversial views – claiming, for example, that French Jews were protected by the state during World War Two. In fact, France’s wartime Vichy regime sent thousands of French Jews as well as Jewish refugees to the Nazi death camps.

Giving genocide denial a platform: ISIS, the media and the Yazidis

Muslims tattooed their Yazidi girl slaves.

When the Dutch journalist Judit Neurink and her friends heard of the takeover of northern Iraq by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) from her base in Irbil (or Erbil), the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, they were surprised. Neurink, a Middle East specialist and editor of one of the leading Dutch daily papers, Trouw in Amsterdam, moved to Irbil in 2008. During the time she spent there, apart from reporting, she set up a media centre to train journalists and teach politicians and the police how to work with the media. She wrote her sixth book, The Women of the Caliphate, which described life inside ISIS territory, published in 2016. Yet, she had been as shocked as anyone when ISIS occupied Mosul, just 50 miles from Irbil and only 250 miles from Baghdad, on June 10, 2014.

Within two days, and with only an estimated 1,500 fighters, ISIS had overrun Iraq’s second-largest city, with a population of about one-and-a-half million people. The Iraqi troops simply melted away. It was hardly a fight.

The myth of lone-wolf terrorism

Would David Amess still be alive if someone had spoken up?

My heart sank twice last week: first when I heard about the brutal murder of Sir David Amess; and again when I started to read some of the disturbing commentary about the 25-year-old arrested on suspicion of carrying out the attack.

For many, the ethnicity and heritage of Ali Harbi Ali were wholly irrelevant to his alleged behaviour. Acknowledging that Ali is of Somali background, we were told, is racist and xenophobic. He must only be identified as British.

Two ‘Expert’ Failures and Their Consequences

How our technocratic elites have discarded traditional wisdom.

The most consequential change in the history of our political order has been the shift from a Democratic Republic to a Technocratic Oligarchy. In the former, the Federal government is limited, and its powers checked and balanced by the Bill of Rights, Congress, the Supreme Court, and the sovereignty powers of the states. In the latter, power is expanded and concentrated in the Federal government and executive agencies staffed by “experts” whose knowledge and judgement are supposedly superior to the practical wisdom, common sense, unalienable rights, and traditional self-government of the sovereign people and their representatives.

Have we reached the high water mark of woke?

American progressives are provoking a furious backlash.

Over the past decade, the woke agenda has crested like a giant tsunami, covering virtually the entirety of academia, the media, the corporate world and even the military. The Gramscian concept of ‘the long march through the institutions’, embraced by 1960s radicals like Germany’s Rudi Dutschke, has achieved overwhelming success.

Yet there are signs that the woke progressive model may be losing its appeal, even among some liberals.

A hobo no-go zone report

Referring to feral street people as “our unhoused neighbors” or “a person experiencing homelessness” is an attack on reality. In fact, they are mentally ill—schizophrenics, drug addicts, and alcoholics, usually in combination.

Because I don’t need to teach my kids about the Faces of Meth yet, we call the ghouls standing next to every freeway exit “hobos.” As in, “Don’t look over there, kids! That hobo forgot to put on pants today.”

HIGHEST EVER number of illegal migrants detained along US-Mexico border, ‘skyrocketed’ since Biden took office – reports

More than 1.7 million people who crossed the US-Mexico border illegally were detained over the previous 12-month period, the highest number ever recorded, according to Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) documents leaked to the media.

The revelation is based on a CBP report obtained by the Washington Post on Wednesday, covering the 2021 fiscal year, which started in October 2020 and ended three weeks ago. While no monthly breakdown of the figures was provided, the rise in illegal crossings coincided with the declaration that Democrat Joe Biden won the November 3 presidential election. Even the Post describes arrests as having “skyrocketed” after Biden was sworn in – with 1.3 million over the past nine months.

Ted Cruz Introduces Legislation To Send Illegal Immigrants To Martha’s Vineyard, Other ‘Democrat-Led Communities’

“For the past ten months, President Biden and his administration have willingly surrendered the United States’ southern border to dangerous criminal cartels, with no thought given to the South Texas border communities like McAllen and Del Rio, which are running low on resources from dealing with this massive influx of illegal immigrants,” Cruz said in a statement before introducing the legislation.

The leftwing attorneys are accused of distributing Molotov cocktails to fellow protesters

Two New York City lawyers pled guilty in a Brooklyn federal court Wednesday morning to one charge relating to the firebombing of a police vehicle during the George Floyd riots.

U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan will determine the length of the prison term, which could run much shorter than 10 years, at a sentencing proceeding in February 2022.

More than 10,000 active-duty airmen will not be vaccinated by deadline

With the Air Force’s Nov. 2 deadline for active-duty personnel to get the coronavirus vaccine less than two weeks away, any airman still unvaccinated will not qualify.

Less than 4% of active-duty airmen remain unvaccinated as of Oct. 19, according to Air Force data, and that accounts for just shy of 12,000 personnel out of the total force of roughly 312,000. In total, 92% of airmen are already vaccinated and 4.2% are partially vaccinated, according to the same data.
