The Liberal message remains Stephen Harper! Abortion! Guns!

It’s been over three weeks since the federal election campaign started, and the Liberal motto has still not quite deviated from “Stephen Harper! Abortion! Guns!”

This has been particularly acute in the last few days, as the Liberals – and certainly the media – have leveled attack after attack at Conservative leader Erin O’Toole over his decreasingly clear stance on firearms.

If anyone still had any doubt that Erin O’Toole is just another Liberal, his U-turns of the past few days should have cleared things up.

O’Toole ran as a “true blue” conservative during the CPC leadership race.

But his mask fell as soon as he became leader.

He flip-flopped on opposing Trudeau’s carbon tax. Now he wants one too.

He flip-flopped on defunding the CBC. Now he only promises to review their mandate.

He flip-flopped on opposing vaccine passports. Now he wants to impose one across the country, just like Trudeau.

He flip-flopped on Trudeau’s arbitrary and unfair firearms ban. Now he supports it.

Erin O’Toole is a liar. A hypocrite. A fraud.

He’s adopted all of Trudeau’s platform.

He’s just another Trudeau.

Marvin, there is only one alternative to prevent our country from become an authoritarian hellhole.

It’s the PPC.

We have two weeks left to flatten the lies and convince more Canadians to support us.

Talk to your family, friends and colleagues.

Reach out to your local PPC candidate and help them.

And if you can spare $25 today, please help us fight for Canada.

Many thanks,
-Max

‘Something is wrong’: Trump says he’s getting calls from foreign leaders

“They can’t believe it,” Trump told Breitbart News. “They can’t believe it. Just like you can’t believe it. Just like any sane rational person can’t believe it. We were going to get out — but we were going to get out with dignity and with honor. We were going to get out with all of the people. And we were going to take all of the equipment.”

As students return to school, an employment shortage has Ottawa’s skilled labour industry encouraging them to consider the trades as a career path.

Many tradespeople are hitting retirement age, industry experts say, and there aren’t enough young people signing up to fill those jobs.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has confirmed that, as of September 7, all fully vaccinated foreigners will be eligible to travel to Canada, despite several provincial governments installing vaccine passports over the much-feared fourth wave of COVID-19.

Here’s A List Of Corporations Funding The ‘Defund The Police’ Movement

Black Lives Matter Global Network and Color of Change have spent millions in their effort to defund the police. But, did you ever wonder where the money comes from? Would it surprise you to learn that corporations make large donations to both groups to be used in pushing their Defund the Police efforts? I’m not because I see them competing to be the most woke and until their stockholders raise a fuss, it will continue.

Biden Invites Pro-Sarsour ‘Rabbi’ Who Defended BDS for Rosh Hashana

Sick woman

When Jews were being beaten in the streets of New York and Los Angeles by Muslim thugs, she signed a letter in support of the anti-Israel movement while insisting it wasn’t anti-semitic.

“We refuse to allow the continued and inaccurate conflation of antisemitism with speech critical of Israel,” the letter signed by Elyse Wechterman, the executive director of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association, huffed even while Jews who had been assaulted still lay in the hospital.

UK: The Government Censorship Unit you’ve never heard of

The “Counter Disinformation Cell” is monitoring your online statements

Stories about censorship usually focus on the individuals prevented from publishing or saying something. But if we are to defend free expression from the new era of digital censorship, we need to focus much more closely on the censors themselves.

Few corporate actors are more powerful than social media companies and under the duress of political pressure, the power that they exercise over online discourse is slowly being melded to that of the state. Online speech standards based on maintaining corporate reputations have increasingly bent to political pressures and moral panics in recent years, often causing waves of online censorship in their wake.

The Afghan Endgame and the Proxy Myth – Those who seek to legitimize the Taliban only serve to delegitimize themselves.

In the arts, the writer must craft a fictional work to induce the willful suspension of disbelief: the audience must deny the fact the work isn’t real; immerse themselves in the imaginary settings and manufactured situations; and be emotionally invested in the fictional characters’ lives. When the fictional story is over, the audience returns to reality, edified—or at least entertained—by the experience.

By contrast, applying fictional narratives to actual foreign affairs and national security induces the suicidal suspension of disbelief. And no one is safe.

‘Immigration Created Barbarism’: Swedish Politician Blasts Gang Wars, Organised Crime

What was promised as an investment, profit and a flourishing multiculturalism has instead led to more unemployment, segregation and a thriving gang culture, a high profile Sweden Democrat has claimed.

In a searing opinion piece titled “Immigration Created Barbarism”, Adam Marttinen of the parliamentary Justice Committee accused mass immigration of contributing to gangland violence and organised crime that swept the country.

With an open swipe against former Swedish Prime Minister and Moderate Party leader Fredrik Reinfeldt, who once notoriously claimed that “Only barbarism is genuinely Swedish, all further development has come from abroad”, Marttinen claimed that Reinfeldt-led governments laid the foundation for the barbarism of gang wars that dominate the news cycle.

Canada’s slide towards corona authoritarianism

Justin Trudeau used to say vaccine passports were divisive and damaging. Now he’s embraced them.

Two of Canada’s largest provinces – Quebec and British Columbia – are set to introduce vaccine passports.

From this month onwards, almost all British Columbians and Quebecers over the age of 12 will be denied entry to non-essential facilities, from gyms to restaurants, unless they are able to provide proof that they have been vaccinated.

The Taliban embrace social media: ‘We too want to change perceptions’

In early May, as US and Nato forces began their final withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban stepped up their military offensive against Afghan national security forces.

But they also did something less common in the group’s history of conflict in the country – they launched a comprehensive social media campaign to go with it.

A network of social media accounts highlighted the alleged failures of the Kabul government while lauding the Taliban’s achievements.

Tweets boasted about the group’s recent victories – sometimes prematurely – and pushed several hashtags, including #kabulregimecrimes (attached to tweets accusing the Afghan government of war crimes); #westandwithTaliban (an attempt to drive grassroots support) and #ﻧَﺼْﺮٌ_ﻣٌِﻦَ_اللهِ_ﻭَﻓَﺘْﺢٌ_ﻗَﺮِﻳﺐٌ (help from God and victory is near). The first of the hashtags at least trended in Afghanistan.
