‘Grandmas buying shotguns’: US dealers see ammunition shortage as sales surge

The coronavirus pandemic in the US has been accompanied by soaring gun sales attributed to fears around social unrest and crime and, in some cases, people having more time for hunting.

But now ammunition has fallen into short supply.

Manufacturers say they are producing as much as they can but in many gun stores shelves are sparse and prices are concurrently rising.

Millions of Americans at risk of losing homes as virus cases spike

Millions of Americans could find themselves homeless starting Sunday when a nationwide ban on evictions expires, even as billions in government funds meant to help them go untapped.

The wave of evictions would come as the fast-spreading Delta variant has taken hold in the country and rental housing is in high demand in the hot real estate market.

US President Joe Biden on Thursday urged Congress to extend the 11-month-old eviction moratorium, after a recent Supreme Court ruling meant the White House could not extend the measure through September as intended.

Erin O’Toole approaches an election with a party so fractured that some Conservatives want him to lose

OTTAWA—The poles holding up the federal Conservatives’ big blue tent are wobbling, raising questions about whether the huff and puff of the next election could just blow it down.

Multiple party sources tell the Toronto Star discussions within their ranks these days bring to mind the early 2000s and a fractured right that rendered conservatives incapable of taking down the governing Liberals.

“Everyone is mad on all sides,” said one senior conservative operative speaking on the condition of anonymity due to their work on campaigns.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? The CPC has been turned into LPC 2.0.

Men calling themselves women? Erin is for it and mind those pronouns h8tr!.

Free trade? The 3rd world needs your jobs and Erin will make sure they get them.

Carbon tax? Our green-scam is not a tax says Erin.

Anti-Abortion? Not in the CPC you aren’t.

Multicult & Diversity? Faggedaboutit! The CPC is as vested in identity politics as Trudeau. Now step aside as we erase your heritage.

Mass immigration? No different than the Liberals. The goal is to swamp the nation with whoever they can convince to come here, all to please their corporate masters desire to suppress wages and profit from shortages and maybe finagle a few “ethnic” votes for the party.

“A smaller piece of a shrinking pie for you” may as well be the CPC election slogan, it would be the only honest one.

New heads of Toronto CSIS office say they want to hire a more diverse group of spies

When Katherine Hannah and Zahra Musaji first started at the Canadian Security and Intelligence Agency back in 1999, they couldn’t have told you what colour the carpet was on the management levels.

Hannah said they were told at the time that women didn’t work in counterterrorism at CSIS — that they were supposed to work in human resources.

“There wasn’t a lot of diversity. It was hard to see how you fit,” said Musaji.

Funny, but I don’t feel safer.

Ontario reports 218 new Covid cases … and 3 cheers for the Liberals

The Ministry of Health says that there were 218 new instances of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus confirmed on Saturday.

Ontario’s rolling-seven day average of new cases now stands at 189. That metric has increased on each of the last six days after previously being on a steady decline for months.

BONOKOSKI: Beating back of sensical thinking during pandemic crisis

The trumping of common sense by politics has always been a bane.

What makes no sense is suddenly sensible — at least to the political party in power trying to jerry-rig a crisis.

No party exemplifies this today better than the Trudeau Liberals.

Study: Vaccinated people can carry as much virus as others

In another big setback for the nation’s efforts to stamp out the coronavirus, scientists who studied a big COVID-19 outbreak in Massachusetts concluded that vaccinated people who got so-called breakthrough infections carried about the same amount of the coronavirus as those who did not get the shots.

Good grief. Even Breitbart is leaving out the facts about Delta: for most people the symptoms are like having a mild cold.

TERRAZZANO: Canada has a divide and it’s between the government and taxpayers

COVID-19 has shone a light on a fundamental divide within Canada: the growing government bureaucracy and those forced to pay for it.

This contrast is illustrated by Statistics Canada’s latest jobs report. The private sector, including those who are self-employed, has shed 520,400 jobs since COVID-19 hit us, while the number of government jobs across the country has increased by 180,000.

Of those new government jobs, 52,900 are public administration bureaucrats.

New bill would force government to disclose online censorship requests

A Republican senator has introduced a bill that would require the White House to disclose the censorship requests it sends to Facebook and other social media companies. The introduction of the bill follows a revelation that the White House was flagging posts promoting COVID misinformation on Facebook.

Don’t they know the US government is above the law?

Canada’s gov’t. proposes ‘Digital Safety Commissioner’ to shut down websites deemed ‘harmful’

July 30, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Canada’s Federal government released plans Thursday to create a “Digital Safety Commissioner” who would have the power to shut down websites deemed a threat to “democracy,” and to promote content deemed “harmful.”

“Canadians expect their government to take action against serious forms of harmful content online. We need to create new rules for social media platforms and online services to address harmful online content and hold individuals accountable, while respecting the importance of freedom of expression in a free and democratic society,” said Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada David Lametti in a press release regarding the government launch of a “public consultation on a proposed approach for promoting a safe, inclusive and open online environment.”

The Liberal party government is a corrupt enemy of freedom.

YouTube’s Sky News Australia suspension ‘disturbing’ assault on freedom of thought

The freedom to engage in debate and challenge conventional thinking and wisdoms were not always accepted as human rights.

Philosophically the notion has existed for millennia with the most modern interpretations gaining their foothold in Greek debating chambers.

It has changed shape frequently and even been snuffed out by leaders of more totalitarian persuasions.

If a society was lucky, it returned. If not, poverty, starvation and horror tended to follow.

YouTube and the rest of the Big Tech menace must be brought to heel.

‘This is about our children:’ Ottawa march calls for independent investigation into residential schools

More than 500 people marched through downtown Ottawa on Saturday, calling for an independent investigation into Canada’s residential schools.

NDP MPs Mumilaaq Qaqqaq and Charlie Angus organized the “March for Truth and Justice” on Parliament Hill and in downtown Ottawa.

In a post on Instagram, Qaqqaq, the MP for Nunvaut, said the march will “demand an independent investigation into Canada’s crimes against Indigenous Peoples. Enough is enough: (Prime Minister) Justin Trudeau and (Minister of Justice) David Lametti need to stop making excuses and ensure that we have a special prosecutor.”

PRAGER: The Media Produces Derangement: Proof From New York Times Readers

This past weekend, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd added another column to the myriad irrational and hysterical pieces about the “existential threat” climate change allegedly poses to human life.

As I do after almost every piece I read on the internet, I read comments submitted by readers.

One provided me with an epiphany.

It was a comment submitted by New York Times reader “Sophia” of Bangor, Maine:

“I have one child, a daughter, who told me age 8 that she would never have a child because of global warming. She’s now 34 and has never changed her mind. So I will not experience a grandchild. For her wisdom, I am grateful. I would be heartsick if I did have a grandchild who would have to experience the onslaught of changing climate.”

How can Canada avoid a fourth wave of COVID-19? Doctors weigh in

After federal COVID-19 modelling showed that the fall could bring about yet another surge in COVID-19 cases with the Delta variant spreading rapidly, doctors say that the best way to avoid a fourth wave is to vaccinate, test, trace and isolate.

Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, released modelling on Friday that indicates cases are beginning to rise as a result of the more contagious Delta variant, but there is still time to flatten the curve.

Massive Protests Worldwide Against Vaccine Passports

Interestingly enough, while all of these countries are protesting, mainly because these tyrannical vaccine passports have already been passed as though they are law, the united States remains relatively quiet. Yet, here are millions worldwide protesting the lies and the tyranny of their corrupt governments.
