March Border Crossings Jump to 15-Year High

More than 171,000 migrants and 19,000 unaccompanied minors were apprehended

U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 171,000 migrants at the southern border in March, marking a 15-year high.

The figure includes nearly 19,000 unaccompanied minors, which tops the prior all-time monthly high of nearly 12,000 in May 2019. According to the Washington Post, the surge has allowed nearly 1,000 illegal migrants—often cartel smugglers bringing drugs—to enter the United States daily without being captured.

China won’t tolerate international criticism: The CCP’s pursuit of its foreign critics is nasty and vindictive.

The Chinese Communist Party has been busy pushing through electoral and legal ‘reforms’ in Hong Kong that give it unprecedented powers.

The changes to Hong Kong’s Legislative Council (LegCo) are designed to ensure that a chamber that at least once provided a platform for pro-democracy politicians becomes merely a rubber-stamping operation, acting in the interests of China and big business.

Weinstein Appeals New York Rape Conviction As Lawyers Allege Biased Juror Misled Judge

Roughly 13 months after he was sentenced to more than 23 years in prison (an effective life sentence for the 69-year-old movie mogul) after being convicted of rape, nefarious former Hollywood super-producer (and Democratic mega-donor) Harvey Weinstein and his legal team filed an appeal on Monday. In the filing, lawyers for the mogul argued that his trial was tainted by the involvement of a juror who had published a book about the predations of older men against younger women.

Gun ownership among Black Americans is soaring

“In times of uncertainty people want to be able to have the means to defend themselves,” a law professor said.

Black people are buying guns at a high record rate, partially due to fear and anxiety, according to The Guardian.

Black people owning guns have gone up 58.2 percent, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) — and gun groups like the “Not F**king Around Coalition (NFAC)” consist of armed social justice advocates who demand justice for George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, visibly strapped with handguns.

Why America’s Elites Want to End the Middle Class

Why America’s Elites Want to End the Middle Class

Feudalism is a viable alternative to tolerating a middle class, especially lucrative to the multinational corporations and globalist billionaires that hide this agenda behind a moral masquerade.

A recent column by Victor Davis Hanson titled “Radical New Rules for Post-America” lists “10 new ideas that are changing America, maybe permanently.” Hanson offers a thorough description of what’s wrong: Fiscal and monetary negligence, selective enforcement or nonenforcement of laws, anti-white racism, rights and privileges for immigrants over citizens, an infantilized culture, hypocrisy, urban chaos, censorship and cancel culture, politicized “science,” and “woke” as the new religion, with Big Tech as the clergy.

While there may not be a more succinct description of the new and radical rules Americans face these days, Hanson is covering familiar territory. But what is the cause of these changes?

‘Yankee Go Home’

Ed West is a prominent British conservative journalist. In this piece, written more in a tone of sorrow than anger, he reflects on how he has soured on America. Excerpts:

To my generation, growing up in the Cold War, that sense of America The Protector still lingered. I remember as a child seeing US troops at Checkpoint Charlie and being aware that it was thanks to them that we didn’t have to keep our eyes down like the poor prisoners of East Berlin. As a British child, when you watched American films or American TV, you identified with the Americans against our common enemies around the world.

US supreme court denies Alex Jones’s appeal in Sandy Hook shooting case

The US supreme court on Monday declined to hear an appeal by the Infowars host, Trump ally and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who was fighting a Connecticut court sanction in a defamation lawsuit brought by relatives of some victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting.

Jones was penalized in 2019 by a trial court judge for an angry outburst against an attorney for the relatives and for violating numerous orders to turn over documents to lawyers. Judge Barbara Bellis barred Jones from filing a motion to dismiss the case and said she would order Jones to pay some of the families’ legal fees.

Three top medical officers in Ontario call for stronger provincial measures, ‘stay-at-home’ orders and online learning where necessary

The medical officers of health for Toronto, Peel and Ottawa are urging the province to take further steps to protect their residents, saying the newly-applied “emergency brake” will not do enough to curb a new wave of virus spread in their regions.

In a letter dated April 4 to the province’s Dr. David Williams, doctors Eileen de Villa, Lawrence Loh and Vera Etches cite data provided by the province’s own science advisory table as reason for further action.

“A stay-at-home order issued by the province through an emergency order is necessary to prevent and mitigate large scale morbidity and mortality and irreparable strain on the healthcare system,” the co-signed letter says.

Mining executives warn Ottawa about dependence on China for strategic minerals amid deteriorating relations

OTTAWA — Mining executives and national security experts are warning the federal government about China’s domination of strategic mineral supplies, saying Ottawa needs to better protect supply chains for modern technology that relies on them like electric vehicles and smart phones.

I have read that one reason China became predominant in rare earth metals is that processing is an ecologically messy endeavour so Western companies shied away. Communist China of course could not care less about Western environmental concerns and seized the opportunity. Expect rare earth mining to be the next target of our eco-luddites.

Biden Edges Away From Israel

Biden’s re-up of foreign aid to the PA is a slap in the face to Israel.

Commencing shortly after his inauguration, President Biden has been decreasing U.S. support for Israel that had existed under former President Trump. He has done so by resuming relations with and payments to the Palestinian Authority (PA), undermining the Abraham Accords; by withdrawing U.S. opposition to the Durban Declaration; and by stating his intention to resume U.S. participation in Obama’s nuclear weapons deal with Iran.

Obama 2.0.
