There was another time in U.S. history when a president was incapable of serving. His name was Woodrow Wilson, and he had had a stroke, a debilitating one. He never recovered. For about 18 months, the nation was without a president. World War I was over, and the country was on the cusp of the Roaring 20s, so perhaps having a leader wasn’t as imperative.
Senator Cotton’s Stand – a bill to protect the military from critical race theory

Tomorrow, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton will introduce legislation to ban critical race theory trainings in the United States military. The bill is concise, and desperately needed. As I have warned since last year, critical race theory and related ideologies have begun to make their way into the armed services, with some branches promoting “white fragility” book clubs and the West Point military academy teaching CRT as part of a leadership program.
Weaponizing Race and Gender

Perhaps the most frightening thing happening in America is the weaponizing of race and gender. We need to be wary, because this is a war for power. This is a war to deny American citizens our Constitutional rights and to create a totalitarian society controlled by the woke left.
We must not allow this to happen, or it will mean the defeat of all the principles and all the freedoms that this country was built upon. The latest battle in this war is the media coverage of, and the Democrat talking points about, the horrific recent shootings in Atlanta. But I believe the war started years ago.
The War on Sex – Today’s ravenous gender radicals are poised to eat their own.

In his 1973 book The Inevitability of Patriarchy, the sociologist Steven Goldberg described sex as “the single most decisive determinant of personal identity.” Today, one wonders if such a book could even be published. Even if it were, it would certainly face a massive assault by the scholarly establishment, the “news” media, and much of the rest of elite culture, including that of many self-styled conservatives.
China on the Rise: Never Forget the Horror of Chinese Totalitarianism
That way we’ll remain aware of the dangers posed by the CCP’s creation of another Red Emperor.
The People’s Republic of China is America’s biggest foreign policy challenge. China is an ancient civilization and a fascinating country. It also is regressing toward brutal authoritarianism if not totalitarianism. This terrible legacy undermines the legitimacy of the Chinese political system.
For many people, misrule under Mao Zedong, the so-called Great Helmsman and Red Emperor, might seem like old news. But the PRC continues to illustrate the danger of infusing absolute dictatorship with communist ideology. That toxic combination yielded years of immiserating poverty, brutal tyranny, social chaos, and mass murder.
American Exodus – Don’t wait for the oligarchy to let you in. Just walk away.

…Today, the oligarchy that controls American society’s commanding heights leaves those who are neither its members nor its clients little choice but to marshal their forces for their own exodus. The federal government, the governments of states and localities run by the Democratic Party, along with the major corporations, the educational establishment, and the news media set strict but movable boundaries about what they may or may not say—on pain of being cast out, isolated from society’s mainstream. Using an ever-shifting variety of urgent excuses, which range from the coronavirus, to the threat of domestic terrorism, to catastrophic climate change, to the evils of racism, they issue edicts that they enforce through anti-democratic means—from social pressure and threats, to corporate censorship of digital platforms, to bureaucratic fiat. Nobody voted for this.
Rex Murphy: How to turn turnip brains into learned adults, and other tips about university

There is considerable turmoil and confusion on very many North American campuses. Students in particular, and even some professors, are somewhat perplexed on the “idea of a university,” and the particular relationships to be found on campus. I’d like to offer a very slim vade mecum or guide on a few essential understandings. Kind of a pamphlet — On Going to University. It is mainly addressed to would-be students. Here goes.
Why do you go? To train your mind and put something good in it.
Border czar Harris compared ICE officers to KKK, supports sanctuary cities

Vice President Kamala Harris is the worst possible choice to be handling the crisis on our southern border — she’s demonstrated time and time again that she doesn’t support the work of our nation’s border officers and supports radical immigration policies such as sanctuary cities and decriminalizing border crossings.
In a 2018 interview with MSNBC, then-Sen. Harris traveled to the southern border to announce a “complete overhaul” of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
‘Cinderella’ production canceled over concerns the cast is too white
A planned production of Cinderella has been canceled over concerns that the cast was too white.
“It was 98% white,” artistic director Michael Brindisi said of the cast. “That doesn’t work with what we’re saying we’re going to do.”
‘It’s going to get worse’: Former ambassador predicts more strain in Canada-China relationship
TORONTO — The relationship between Canada and China continues to deteriorate following the trials of Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, which were conducted under a shroud of secrecy in Beijing last week.
Now Paul Heinbecker, a former Canadian ambassador to Germany and representative to the United Nations, says things could get worse for Canada-China relations.
Diane Francis: Health Canada must stop endangering lives by delaying second doses of COVID vaccines
It is unconscionable for Health Canada to have ignored the advice of pharmaceutical makers and allowed inordinate delays in administering second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
Two more studies have come my way, added to a British one I wrote about last week, that underscore the danger to lives of Canada’s reckless procurement failure compounded by the world’s only federally approved dosage rationing of four months.
China Continues to Show Its Contempt for the U.S.

Last week in Anchorage, Alaska, Chinese diplomats dressed down Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. Both seem stunned by the broadsides.
Not since newly elected President John Kennedy was humiliated at the Vienna summit in June 1961 by USSR strongman Nikita Khrushchev have American diplomats been so roughly manhandled by a Communist government.
Joe Biden clears very low bar at first press conference
Things go so much more smoothly when Washington reporters actually like the person functioning as president. And so, President Joe Biden cleared the very low bar that was set for his first press conference on Thursday.
It’s not that our biggest problems have gone away. Almost 140,000 people have died from the coronavirus since Biden was elected. More than 10 million people remain unemployed. The Border Patrol has gone back to functioning as a full-time child care program for Latin America’s poor after Biden opened the border to all of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
Canada expelled eight foreigners for terrorism or spying in 2020
Eight foreigners suspected of espionage, subversion or terrorism were removed from Canada last year, according to the federal government.
The department of Public Safety would not reveal the countries that the individuals were acting on behalf of, citing privacy laws, nor the specific nature of their activities in Canada.
“However, we can tell you that in 2020, the CBSA [Canada Border Services Agency] removed eight individuals deemed inadmissible on security grounds,” Public Safety spokesman Tim Warmington said in a statement. “Removal on security grounds may include persons who are found inadmissible for espionage, subversion, terrorism and/or for membership in groups involved in such activities.”
Only 8?
