An anti-woke counter-revolution is sweeping through the media

From Hollywood to the newsroom, the hegemony of the ‘progressives’ is finally faltering.

The purchase of Paramount and CBS by David Ellison – scion of Larry Ellison, the world’s third-richest man, with a $250 billion tech fortune – marks a shift away from one-party domination of the media and culture. It follows Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, now X, and the Trumpian capture of Washington DC’s Kennedy Center.

Westerners’ Abusive Relationship with Their Governments

Two years ago, world-class researcher and analyst “Sundance” posted an alarming essay on his website, The Conservative Treehouse.  Taking a look back at the previous years’ severe COVID tyranny, the rise of the Biden administration’s censorship regime, and the false media narratives pushing a NATO-Russia war in Ukraine, “Sundance” soberly concluded that “We the People” are in an abusive relationship with government.  Within that essay, he embedded a picture of a woman holding a sign that reads: “DANGER: You are being conditioned to view your freedom as selfish.”

Terry Glavin: China is a predator and détente should be out of the question

It should be obvious by now that the world order that has sustained prosperity in the northern hemisphere in a mostly uninterrupted epoch of peace over the past 80 years is dramatically unravelling. It just might take a while yet before we can definitively pinpoint the moment or the event that caused everything to finally fall apart.

How Somali Fraudsters Swamped Minnesota’s Social Services System on Tim Walz’s Watch

The fraud scandal that rattled Minnesota was staggering in its scale and brazenness.

Federal prosecutors charged dozens of people with felonies, accusing them of stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from a government program meant to keep children fed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

At first, many in the state saw the case as a one-off abuse during a health emergency. But as new schemes targeting the state’s generous safety net programs came to light, state and federal officials began to grapple with a jarring reality.

France’s Schools Are on the Verge of Collapse: Uncontrolled, unassimilated immigration is destroying the French education system.

France school attack police training

French schools are failing badly. A report from the Observatory of Immigration and Demography (OID), published this week, lays bare the extent of the education system’s struggle with immigration. The report’s author, teacher and writer Joachim Le Floch-Imad, delivers the verdict that “immigration is not the primary cause of our schools’ problems, but it exacerbates all of their difficulties.”

After all, France’s demographics have changed at a rapid pace, placing unprecedented pressure on classrooms, teachers and the basic mission of the school system. In 2024, 31% of newborns had at least one parent born outside the EU. Births to two non-EU-born parents are up 74% since 2000. Today, 40% of children under four in France are either migrants or have a migrant background. And more than one in five fourth-grade (aged nine and 10) speaks a language other than French at home.

SLOBODIAN: Is Canada secretly preparing for World War III? Inside the ‘three-to-five-year’ war warnings, shocking the military

Top military officers are warning serving members that Canada must prepare for a major world war within the next “three to five years.”

“Command is saying ‘get ready, brace yourselves.’ They said the next chapter is about to begin and it’s going to be like nothing we’ve seen before,” said one source who attended a recent assembly.

Kinetic warfare. Imminent mobilization.

Carney’s pipeline marks a shift from values-based trade-offs to economically grounded ones

“This is Canada working. This is co-operative federalism.”

That is how Prime Minister Mark Carney framed the recent memorandum of understanding between Ottawa and Alberta to build a pipeline to Canada’s west coast.

Credit where credit is due: it’s a sharp line.

But it didn’t take long for rhetoric to collide with reality.

In Germany Left-Wing Extremism Simply Does Not Exist!

Why German youth embrace violence and extremism

In 2023, a 15- and a 17-year-old plotted to attack a Christmas market in Leverkusen (North Rhine-Westphalia). In online chats, the two supporters of the “Islamic State” (IS), considered a terrorist organization by German domestic intelligence, plotted to kill as many people as possible by driving a truck into the crowd of revellers. Two days before the planned attack, the teenagers were arrested after police had become aware of their online chats. The minors were sentenced to four years in prison in 2024.

Cases like this are increasingly worrying German security authorities. The Federal Criminal Police (BKA) has for years been recording an increase in violent crime . The number of juvenile suspects under the age of 18 has increased by almost a third since 2019, and the number of suspects under the age of 14 has even risen by two-thirds in the same period.

DW is a state funded propaganda outlet like our own CBC.

With the AfD on the rise DW no doubt fears for funding hence the steady drumbeat of “far-right” extremism.

Oh look the Antifa that doesn’t exist does battle with the Police.

Do Mark Carney’s pipeline politics change the calculus of future confidence votes?

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s agreement with Alberta toward a new oil pipeline to the Pacific coast has angered the few opposition MPs who saved his Liberal government from falling in a recent confidence vote, increasing the prospect of a snap election.

On Thursday, Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that outlined the conditions needed for Ottawa to back a new pipeline proposal, which included strengthening the province’s industrial carbon pricing system and supporting a carbon capture and storage project advanced by the Pathways Alliance — a consortium of Canada’s six largest oilsands companies.

In exchange, the federal government will scrap the long-promised oil and gas emissions cap, and exempt Alberta from regulations pressing provinces to decarbonize their electricity grid.

The strange silence over slaughtered Nigerian Christians is ending

Douglas Todd: More people in the West are overcoming ignorance or indifference to learn about the atrocities being visited upon many church members in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country.

There are many reasons that massacres of Nigerian Christians haven’t received much media attention in the West, particularly compared with the coverage of conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

And one of those reasons is that many Nigerians, including in Canada, are afraid to speak out publicly against the atrocities carried out by Jihadist extremists and others, some of which occur during worship services. NGOs estimate tens of thousands of deaths and abductions.

The Burning of Bethany Magee

What one more horrific attack reveals about violence, failure, and our fraying social compact.

I’m haunted by what happened to Bethany MaGee. Haunted by how, in the midst of something as ordinary as a subway journey, she found herself doused with gasoline and set ablaze. Haunted that she’s now in a burn unit fighting for her life. Haunted at the thought that, even if she survives, she’ll likely be scarred for life, not simply from the burns themselves, but from the emotional trauma.

Zelenskyy faces ‘mini-revolution’ as Yermak’s fall reshapes Ukraine’s wartime power system

Ukraine’s political system is bracing for a “mini-revolution” as the county’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is forced to adapt to life without his closest adviser, chief enforcer and most loyal associate, Andriy Yermak, who resigned on Friday after his apartment was searched as part of a widening anti-corruption probe.

Yermak’s resignation could have tremendous consequences for domestic governance, as well as for Ukraine’s negotiating position in talks over ending the war with Russia, where he had served as the head of Ukraine’s delegation to peace talks with the White House.

“It’s a mini-revolution in the political system and the governance system,” said Kyiv-based political analyst Volodymyr Fesenko. “Yermak was the key element in the system of power that Zelensky had built.”

Fresh Reporting on Asylum Seekers at the U.S.-Canadian Border

This week I published an article, months in the works, that followed the dramatic efforts of a senior nurse and the mother of two who had been living as an unauthorized immigrant in the United States for 22 years, as she tried to legally join her Canadian brother here.

We’re expected to bend over and accept every “refugee” that knocks on our door or we’ll be called racists by our so called elites.
