Kosovar Man Burns Wife Alive After Early Release in Belgium

On July 3rd, a Kosovar Muslim man, identified as Mirsad H., set his wife, Dula K., on fire in the Belgian village of Houthalen-Helchteren after being released from incarceration months early due to prison overcrowding. The attack happened in front of the couple’s five children, one of whom tried to extinguish the flames while waiting for help to arrive. The woman is now in a medically induced coma, fighting for her life, with her chances of survival minimal according to the doctors treating her.

Mirsad H. was previously known to the police, having amassed a considerable rap sheet including illegal possession of a weapon and receiving stolen goods. Before the horrific attack on his wife, he had been serving a 37-month prison sentence for domestic violence.

GIESBRECHT: Is Carney incompetent — or pushing a dangerous agenda?

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced this week that Canada would formally recognize a Palestinian state in September. Immediately, former U.S. president Donald Trump responded that Carney’s decision would make a deal with Canada “very hard.” His commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, called Carney’s two-state decision “tone deaf.”

Then Trump hiked tariffs on Canada to 35 per cent.

Days after its release, Ottawa calls report on lethal exports to Israel ‘flawed’

OTTAWA — Ottawa is insisting it hasn’t sent lethal weapons to Israel, days after the release of a report stating Israeli customs data indicates Canadian arms are still being exported there regularly.

Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says items that the Israel Tax Authority identified as “bullets” were actually “paintball-style projectiles” that cannot be used in combat, even though the bullets were identified by the authority as “munitions of war and parts thereof.”

The Cincinnati Cop-Outs

Recently, a large group of black youths began pummeling several white adults in downtown Cincinnati.

The original altercation apparently broke out between a black and white male in he-said/he-said fashion. But that dispute soon turned into a virtual free-for-all.

Numerous male and female black youths sucker-punched a middle-aged woman and a man. Others continued to kick or body slam the victims, who were sprawled on their backs and seemingly unconscious.

Canada ‘disappointed’ by Trump boosting tariffs to 35%, says Carney

Prime Minister Mark Carney released a statement just past midnight on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to increase a tariff on Canadian goods to 35 per cent.

“While the Canadian government is disappointed by this action, we remain committed to [the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement], which is the world’s second-largest free trade agreement by trading volume,” the statement read.

“The U.S. application of CUSMA means that the U.S. average tariff rate on Canadian goods remains one of its lowest for all of its trading partners. Other sectors of our economy — including lumber, steel, aluminum and automobiles — are, however, heavily impacted by U.S. duties and tariffs.”

Unpleasant but CUSMA offers some relief.

The Fall of Ugly Liberal Chicks

I can imagine that headline getting a lot of people upset – you’re not supposed to call people ugly – but some people are ugly and everyone knows it. I’m not talking exclusively physically, though that’s a big part. A good-looking woman, for example, can be rendered completely unattractive if she’s stupid or, I assume, liberal (it’s never really happened, in my dating experience, as most liberal women could easily pose for “before” photos for any number of ailments and afflictions, so them being attractive is only theoretical).

Kamala Harris says she doesn’t plan to return to ‘broken’ system of US politics

Kamala Harris has said that she currently has no desire to re-enter “the system” of American politics because it is “broken”.

On Thursday night the defeated Democratic party’s presidential nominee, who replaced Joe Biden late in the 2024 campaign after he dropped his re-election bid, gave her first interview since losing the election to Donald Trump, talking to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show.

After she announced she will not run for the governorship of California just a day earlier, Harris told the TV show that it was about something more “basic” than whether she wanted to run for something else instead – with the subtext being whether she will attempt a White House run again in 2028.

Gary Anandasangaree must resign as Public Safety Minister

Lying Liberal DEI MP

It would be tolerable – though just barely – if Gary Anandasangaree was, say, minister of Fisheries, or minister of Artificial Intelligence. One does not need to know about gun licensing, for example, to work on a transition plan away from open net-pen salmon farming on the West coast; a firewall preventing a minister from weighing in on matters involving listed terrorist organizations would not affect approvals for AI data centres. One requires good judgment to serve as any member of Cabinet, to be sure, but the stakes are decidedly higher when we’re talking about the safety and security of the country, as opposed to the safety and security of the Rocky Mountain ridged mussel.

Lion Electric will not respect warranties on school buses sold in United States

Lion electric bus

MONTREAL — Quebec vehicle-maker Lion Electric will no longer honour warranties on school buses and trucks sold in the United States, leaving clients south of the border in the lurch.

After seeking protection from its creditors in December, the struggling manufacturer was acquired by a group of Quebec investors in May with a plan to focus exclusively on electric school buses assembled and sold in the province. The company has retained its manufacturing plant in St-Jérôme, Que.

Earlier this month, the court-appointed monitor overseeing Lion’s restructuring sent a letter to U.S. clients informing them that their warranties and purchase orders have been voided.
