Defense giant Lockheed Martin just reported a rare — and yuge — quarterly loss of $1.6 billion, but CEO James D. Taiclet sounded unfazed, thanks to a “magical” classified aeronautics program he claims will create a “game-changing capability for our joint U.S. and international customers.”
Is it a bird? A plane? Superman?
Before we get to the speculation — and there is some juicy stuff — a quick look at how the company lost so much money on something that Taiclet said Lockheed “probably won’t be able to talk about what that is for many years to come.”
This has long been the subject of intense speculation – reverse engineered UFO tech or the result of a US research breakthrough? Beats me Scully.

German officials this week filed charges against a Syrian migrant who critically injured a Spanish tourist during a knife attack at Berlin’s Holocaust Memorial in February.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office said in its indictment that this location was deliberately chosen because of the individual’s “radical Islamist and antisemitic views.” It adds that he sent photos of himself to members of Islamic State just before the attack, “giving the organisation the opportunity to claim responsibility.”

One should never dismiss out of hand the accusations one hears from time to time, that unkind Albertans make racist remarks to, or in the hearing of, immigrants of colour. In a population of five million, even one tenth of one percent would be five thousand people and were it only half that, it’s still enough to make quite a few people uncomfortable.
And that is indeed what the Calgary office of the Alberta Newcomers Centre told Fakiha Baig, a reporter for the Canadian Press recently. Quoting Centre staff, Baig writes,

The government of Canada is adamant — with certain, shifting caveats — that it has not allowed arms shipments to Israel since January 2024, and yet Israeli import data and publicly available shipping records appear to contradict that claim.
The data was uncovered by a group of researchers from four NGOs: World Beyond War, the Palestinian Youth Movement, Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East and Independent Jewish Voices.
They found entries in the database of the Israel Tax Authority that show Canadian goods continuing to enter Israel, described by the Israeli government as military weapon parts and ammunition.

Remember how, in recent years, nearly every high-profile “racist incident” that dominated the headlines eventually turned out to be a false flag or outright hoax? Well, nothing’s changed. The outrage-obsessed left has apparently run out of real things to be angry about, so now they’re inventing reasons to keep the mob frothing.

Pay now, or pay more later. That’s the message sent by the International Court of Justice to fossil fuel-producing countries in an “advisory opinion” on climate change released last week. The opinion responds to a request for legal advice from all 193 United Nations member states.
“Failure of the state to take appropriate action to protect the climate system from GHG [greenhouse gas] emissions including through fossil fuel production, fossil fuel consumption, the granting of fossil fuel exploration licenses, or the provision of fossil fuel subsidies may constitute an internationally wrongful act which is attributable to that state,” the court wrote in its unanimous decision.
A normal PM would tell that Kangaroo Kourt to shove it. Carney welcomes it as yet another avenue to shut down the oil industry.

Have you returned from a grocery store this summer after having dropped a small fortune on a steak, only to peel it off the barbeque to find it just wasn’t that satisfying?
It may not have been just the price that let your taste buds down. While the price of beef has surged since January — leading to price increases in popular grilling cuts like striploin, up 34 per cent, top sirloin, up 34 per cent, and rib cuts, up almost 12 per cent — there could be another reason why your steak left you with a bad taste in your mouth.

Did persons in the White House use the autopen to forge President Biden’s signature?
Much ink has been spilled on the topic of whether use of the autopen to sign President Joe Biden’s name to pardons, executive orders, legislation, and other documents invalidates the actions. But these analyses overly complicate and miss the key point: Was the document a forgery?
I don’t doubt the fraud allegation at all.

Adam Lambert sits on a rickety wooden chair just outside the main chapel at the Hollywood United Methodist Church on a break from rehearsing the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
Dressed in beige shorts and a vest with matching mid-calf boots, Lambert wears his trademark glitter eye makeup with thick black liner. He’s calm and collected, content to spend his lunch break chatting, even though the rehearsal schedule is a breakneck nine days total. He chalks up his easygoing demeanor to the high-wattage professionalism of the cast, and his familiarity with the music.
Why is this needed?

ODESA, Ukraine — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tried to dismantle his country’s anti-corruption infrastructure last week in a shameful power grab that has stained his domestic and international credibility. Yet, the mass protests that followed, which forced Zelenskyy to quickly reverse course, illustrate that Ukrainian democracy remains resilient and that illiberal governance will not be tolerated by its citizens.

On July 24, Egyptian-born Michael Youssef, senior pastor of Church of The Apostles in Atlanta and author of more than 50 books, including The Third Jihad, wrote that while visiting a Middle Eastern nation, he met with a highly placed Muslim official.
“He leaned toward me and said, ‘Doctor Youssef, can you tell me why the Muslim Brotherhood is outlawed as a terrorist organization in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Egypt – but is allowed to flourish in America?’ I said, ‘I can think of no answer except foolishness and ignorance.'”
