Barbara Kay: The useful idiots trotted out to bash Israel

Have you heard the expression, “Two Jews, three opinions”? Truly, we have always been a contentious people.

In judging the worthiness of any particular internal debate, our sages applied the criterion of motivation. Constructive debate, they decreed, was noble; debate intended to wound was ignoble. I consider “ignoble” any public rhetoric by Jews that provides both comfort and ammunition to our enemies.

A pro-Palestine demonstration targeting a Zara store on Sunday at Eaton Centre quickly went sideways as video surfaced of a man, his face partly concealed by a mask, uttering threats with police officers standing nearby.

There are people who should be in shackles for visiting this madness upon us.

Southern Poverty Law Center condemns feminists as white supremacists

This week, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) dropped a major investigation into “anti-LGBTQ+ pseudoscience”. Dubbed Project Captain, the report declares that the “network we identify supports and is supported by white Christian nationalist ideology that seeks to privilege straight, white, cisgender Christians in public policy and replace science and American law with Christian theology”.

The authors cast a strange and internally contradictory set of aspersions over the Enlightenment and “science” (their quotation marks, not mine), while deploying all the strategies they accuse their political opponents of practising. Then again, making sense of the opposition is not what this report is about.

‘Outrageous’: Threats to Ibrahim Ali’s lawyers spur court safety concerns in B.C.

VANCOUVER – The voice mail threatens to knock lawyer Kevin McCullough’s teeth out, and as for his client, Ibrahim Ali, the anonymous caller says: “I’m gonna cut him.”

The Dec 1. recording was provided to The Canadian Press by Ali’s lawyers, who say it is among a litany of threats they have received for their handling of the high-profile murder case.

Ali was convicted on Dec. 8 of first-degree murder for the killing of a 13-year-old girl in a B.C. park, and while the trial may be over, the fallout for McCullough and co-counsel Ben Lynskey continues.

Bannerman Park’s biggest tent city happened 131 years ago in the wake of a stunning fire

Since early fall, a tent city in Bannerman Park has been drawing attention to homelessness and the affordable housing crisis in St. John’s.

Many of the encampment’s occupants have declined emergency shelter placements due to safety and hygiene concerns and are instead using their visible presence in the heart of the capital city to advocate for long-term, accessible housing solutions for all.

But this is only the latest tent city to emerge at Bannerman Park.

The Media’s Curious Lack of Interest in Harvard’s Plagiarism Fiasco

Major media today are more inclined to keep their readers comfortable than to bring them hard truths.

Claudine Gay – Affirmative Action Hire

Reading the news these days hardly feels like engaging with uncompromising truth-seeking.

The stuff the corporate press chooses to pump out now, and the editorial choices they make regarding what is pursued and what is not pursued, has all the feel of public-relations work tailored specifically to excite and inspire a specific fan base of left-wingers.
