CAIR’s Support for Parents Opposed to ‘LGBT’ Curriculum Reflects Move Away from Fake Progressive Stance

After years of allowing its branches to collaborate with leftists on issues related to sexuality, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is standing with conservative parents in Maryland to rally for the right to opt their children out of “LGBT” teachings they deem objectionable.

This latest development reflects a more general trend in U.S. Islamism, in which there is an increasing tendency for Islamists to partner with conservatives — Islamists now pretending to support traditional family values. CAIR leaders and other Islamists are moving away from the previous tendency to pander to leftist and “progressive” opinion for tactical reasons. Yet, as may be seen below, the situation remains in flux with some elements at the local level continuing the trend of pandering to local progressives, even as CAIR’s national leadership appears to be more openly advocating Islamist positions regarding the “LGBT” issue.

Canada’s Sluggish Response to Chinese Political Influence

Another day, another revelation that the People’s Republic of China is engaged in political warfare against the West.

Last week, Canada arrested and charged a former officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, William Majcher, for aiding “the Chinese government’s efforts to identify and intimidate an individual outside the scope of Canadian law.” Worse, it appears that Mr. Majcher did not act alone, as he was granted bail “on conditions that include not communicating with another former Mountie with whom he is alleged to have conspired.”

Bytown Blackie’s Star: Conservative Messaging is more effective at attracting donations than Trudeau’s so we need to put the government in charge of party financing

An editorial from Bytown Blackie and Katie Telford.

If Justin Trudeau wants to curb extremism in politics, he should start here

As Justin Trudeau prepares his cabinet ministers’ marching orders, he should consider putting a new item on the list — resurrecting the per-vote subsidy for federal political parties.

Currently, parties are financially dependent on donors, who are often moved to give in response to emotional messaging. That’s why the parties focus on identity politics — why we hear so much about abortion rights, gun laws and “Liberal censorship.” It’s why we see fundraising notes from the Conservatives warning “Canada’s democracy is in danger.”

… Changing the way parties are financed by adopting a per-vote subsidy — and reducing contribution limits for political donations — could be part of the solution.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation pursues European submission

OIC: strategy:”The Ummah began with one person, the Prophet. The success of a Muslim minority is to one day become a majority.”

When she died in 2007, Oriana Fallaci was on trial in Bergamo, Italy. A judge had seen fit to send the writer to trial on charges of. “Contempt for the Islamic religion”. The magistrate had argued that some sentences in her books are “unequivocally offensive to Islam”. An arrest warrant was also issued from Switzerland. If my friend Oriana were alive today, perhaps we would see her with shackles on her wrists.

During the period when the Saudi Supreme Court (which is not really a supreme court, but more a congregation of imams) gave the green light to a thousand lashes and ten years in prison for the liberal blogger Raif Badawi, guilty of having “offended Islam,” a delegation of United Nations bureaucrats landed in Jeddah to promote an “international conference on religious freedom”. No, this is not a joke.

China is Preparing for War – Are We?

From reclaiming farmland and building ships to massive investment in foreign countries and in AI, all signs point to war readiness.

With annual inflation at only 3 percent in June, and second quarter GDP growing at 2.4 percent, it looks like a return to normalcy. With the S&P Index up over 19 percent year to date, and the NASDAQ Composite Index roaring at 37 percent, and total travel spending up 5.5 percent year to date through May, it is easy to think that while all is still not quite well, it has still gotten a lot better. But not quite so fast.

This Is Your City on Fentanyl

Oregon’s decriminalization law has transformed large parts of Portland’s downtown into an open-air drug market.

Officer Daniel DiMatteo is a 24-year police veteran—ten years with the Chicago P.D., then 14 years and counting with the Portland Police Bureau. He’s worked on gang crime and gun violence. And now, he spends much of his time trying to deal with Portland’s drug crisis.

On the day I met him, in March 2023, DiMatteo was patrolling a stretch of downtown around Washington Center, a decommissioned shopping mall that has become a hot spot for drug use. Not long afterward, cops swept the area after it saw 11 overdoses in one night. But on this day, it was full of people, many of them homeless, most using drugs in broad daylight.

Let Ukraine Bomb Russia

Ukraine’s ability to launch attacks deep within Russian territory are vital if the Ukrainian military’s counteroffensive is to stand any chance of liberating its territory from Russian occupation.

In recent days, Ukraine has launched a series of drone attacks against Russian targets, including two drone strikes against a skyscraper in central Moscow and an attempted drone strike against Russian naval ships in the Black Sea.

The skyscraper, which houses teams from Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, and Ministry of Industry and Trade, was the target of drone strikes on two consecutive days.

Disturbing audio captures racism grifter attacking principal’s ‘white supremacy’ before he killed himself

An anti-racism instructor was recorded mocking and laughing at a beloved Toronto principal who challenged her teachings — holding him up as an example of white supremacy “resistance,” according to a report.

Richard Bilkszto, 60, later committed suicide.

Bilkszto’s July death came after diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, instructor Kike Ojo-Thompson proclaimed Canada was more racist than the United States, a statement the principal pushed back on.

‘Disaster’: warning for democracy as experts condemn Meta over Canada news ban

Social media giant Meta’s ban on news access on its platforms in Canada is an “epic miscalculation” that could damage journalism and promote the spread of misinformation and fake news, experts are warning.

The company announced the move on Tuesday, saying they had begun the process to end access to news on Facebook and Instagram for users in Canada.

The policy came in retaliation for a new law, the Online News Act, created in an effort to help shore up revenue at Canadian journalism outlets by forcing intermediaries such as Meta and Google’s parent company Alphabet to chip in.
