Scrappy local paper takes on San Francisco’s homeless-industrial complex

I got my start in journalism writing for the scrappy local community newspapers in San Francisco (The North Mission News/New Mission News), so I have a soft spot for these papers, given their capacity to ask questions the big papers never ask, not take activists’ self-interested statements for answers, and report in minute detail what the mainstream papers never notice, or more likely, have too many conflicts of interest to “notice.”

Elon Musk ‘refuses to turn on Starlink’ for Crimea drone attack

Elon Musk forced Ukraine to drop a planned naval drone strike in the Black Sea by refusing access to the Starlink satellite network, according to a US report.

The Ukrainian military was not able to remotely pilot a drone laden with explosives into a Russian ship in occupied Crimea following the decision of the SpaceX chief executive.

Mr Musk, the 52-year-old South African-born billionaire, has previously said he does not want Starlink used to conduct long-range offensive strikes.

He/Him Leftist Who Calls Pedophiles a ‘Stigmatized Group’ Trashes ‘Sound of Freedom’

Noah Berlatsky, who proudly wrote about how his bisexual wife came out as non-binary and his daughter as trans, was hired to trash the movie, Sound of Freedom, for Bloomberg. A movie which takes on the horror of child kidnapping and child rape is a movie that Berlatsky wants to stop people from watching.

This creature tweeted that “pedophiles are essentially a stigmatized group”, and that “people hate them.” People. Not him.

The grim truth about Low Traffic Neighbourhoods

These green traffic schemes are making life miserable for ordinary people.

Could this finally be the end of the Low Traffic Neighbourhood? Over the past three years, so-called LTNs, which are designed to decrease traffic on residential streets, have sprung up across the UK. Prime minister Rishi Sunak announced a review into LTNs over the weekend, while speaking to the Sunday Telegraph. Sunak’s comments followed transport secretary Mark Harper’s announcement that central government would no longer fund new LTNs in England.

Tragedy in Manipur: India’s Christians are suffering under ‘anti-conversion laws’

Carnage in Manipur showcases the tragedy unfolding around India’s anti-Christian ‘conversion laws’.

Two Christian women from the Kuki tribe, allegedly raped by Hindu extremists, are an example of how reluctant Western and Indian authorities are to call it persecution.

Both women, one middle-aged and the other in her 20s, were marched naked down a street towards a field before authorities claim they were gang-raped by ‘dozens’ of men in early May.

Ex-Hunter Biden partner Devon Archer testifies Joe Biden was on calls with foreign patrons ‘for the brand’

WASHINGTON — Former Hunter Biden business partner Devon Archer testified Monday to the House Oversight Committee about President Biden’s role in his son’s foreign dealings — detailing dozens of encounters as congressional Republicans move closer to launching an impeachment inquiry.

A source familiar with Archer’s nearly four-hour closed-door interview said that Archer testified that Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings added Hunter to its board in early 2014 because of the Biden “brand” as his dad led US policy toward Ukraine.

Conspiracy theorists must be eliminated says Klaus Schwab’s pal Yuval Harari

Conspiracy theorists must be eliminated

Yuval Harari, Klaus Schwab’s right-hand man has called for so-called “conspiracy theorists” to be banned from the Internet because of their “dangerous” belief that a global clique of elites controls the world, Azernews reports.

Harari condemned the theory that a shadowy elite of billionaires and globalists control the world, he called it “anti-Semitic” and “dangerous.”

… During a discussion at the Warwick Economic Summit, Harari boasted that the world’s “elites” would soon be able to use their immense power to avoid global mass extinction, which they themselves would create as part of a depopulation program.

Toronto police union calls on Olivia Chow to offer public support after rash of violence against officers

Toronto’s police union has criticized Mayor Olivia Chow for her lack of public support after a rash of recent violence against law enforcement officials.

The Toronto Police Association (TPA), which represents nearly 8,000 uniform and civilian members of the Toronto Police Service, issued a statement calling on the newly elected mayor to publicly acknowledge the incidents.

“In the last five days, we have had a police officer struck and injured by a stolen car, officers shot at, and a police dog killed in the line of duty. Will Mayor Chow offer any words of condolence or support for our members?” the TPA said in a tweet issued Thursday.

People City …

Driver seen mounting sidewalk before driving along bike lane downtown in road rage video

I drove through that intersection around 5 or so. The Gardner was closed westbound due to an accident so I scooted north to Dundas. Queen west was ludicrous as was King. While Bloor was OK I see the city has escalated its war on the car by essentuially turning it into a two lane street. No wonder people are going off the rails.

Trudeau blameless for asylum seekers sleeping in Toronto’s streets says Trudeau

‘It is unacceptable in a country like Canada,’ Trudeau says of asylum-seekers sleeping on Toronto streets

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says it is “unacceptable” that asylum-seekers were forced to camp out on Toronto streets when they were turned away from the city’s overwhelmed shelter system last month and is vowing to be “part of the mix” when it comes to solving the crisis.

Last week, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow renewed her call for the federal government to come up with long-term solutions for refugees coming to Toronto. She said the $97 million in funding that recently came from Ottawa is not enough to deal with the shelter space shortage.

“Unacceptable in a country like Canada?” You made Canada a shithole Junior.

When will be rid of this puke?

American Journalism Is Decadent and Depraved

Relying on Twitter instead of live sources, the media are losing money and credibility, one smear at a time.

Surveying the disgraceful condition of our nation’s 21st-century news media, there are times when the question occurs to me, “What would Wes Pruden do?” During the decade I worked as an assistant editor at The Washington Times, I occasionally had the misfortune of angering our esteemed editor-in-chief, who had a low tolerance for errors. Being called on the carpet in Mr. Pruden’s office was an experience one never wished to repeat. As the conservative newspaper in the nation’s capital, our work was always critically scrutinized, and Mr. Pruden enforced high standards to ensure that the news reporting in The Washington Times was always accurate. “Get it first, get it right,” was his motto, and woe be unto he who got it wrong.
