Report: U.S. Taxpayers Bankrolled Dangerous Research By ‘Covid Patients Zero’ In Wuhan

A hypothesis about the origins of Covid-19 censored by Big Tech and labeled a “conspiracy” by corporate media, the federal government, and World Health Organization (WHO) is now backed by new evidence. Documents obtained by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request show U.S. taxpayers funded the research of three Wuhan Institute of Virology lab staffers in China whom U.S. officials told reporters are “patients zero” for Covid-19.

The ACLU’s morally perverse masterclass on how not to campaign against the death penalty

The American Civil Liberties Union was formerly known for its principled stance on civil liberties. But today, it has become a group dominated by progressive ideologues. Illustrations of this shift are numerous, but a recent tweet about the death penalty is likely among the best. Not only does it show just how out-of-touch the ACLU is with the rest of the country, but it is also a masterclass in how not to campaign against the death penalty.

Here’s the story: On Saturday, the ACLU posted a graphic on Twitter reading “Florida has executed Duane Owen,” along with a caption saying “The state of Florida never provided medically necessary gender-affirming care to Duane Owen — causing her enormous suffering and violating her right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment for the more than 30 years she was in state custody.”

Complex Systems Won’t Survive the Competence Crisis

At a casual glance, the recent cascades of American disasters might seem unrelated. In a span of fewer than six months in 2017, three U.S. Naval warships experienced three separate collisions resulting in 17 deaths. A year later, powerlines owned by PG&E started a wildfire that killed 85 people. The pipeline carrying almost half of the East Coast’s gasoline shut down due to a ransomware attack. Almost half a million intermodal containers sat on cargo ships unable to dock at Los Angeles ports. A train carrying thousands of tons of hazardous and flammable chemicals derailed near East Palestine, Ohio. Air Traffic Control cleared a FedEx plane to land on a runway occupied by a Southwest plane preparing to take off. Eye drops contaminated with antibiotic-resistant bacteria killed four and blinded fourteen.

Russian People Turn Passive in the War, Spurring Predictions That the Break-Up of the Federation Is Inevitable

Western defense officials now estimate that over the last 16 months 200,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded in Ukraine. This is almost triple the casualties suffered by the Soviet Union during a decade in Afghanistan. Doubts are growing that Russia can sustain this cost. In the 1980s, the Soviet Union had twice the population of today’s Russia.

Beyond the elite, the morale of the Russian soldiers and civilians seems low. In interview after interview posted last week by Ukraine’s UA media consortium, Russian POWs say they do not understand why they are in Ukraine and complain of disorganization and poor leadership.

Flashback: Meghan Markle gets staffers to conduct podcast interviews for her

“This isn’t the first time people have questioned whether Meghan actually speaks to her interviewees,” Cockburn wrote, all of those months ago. “After an episode with Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie, an old Markle friend from her Suits days in Montreal, it was clear that the conversation was recorded in separate studios, as podcast producer J.P. Davidson tweeted, “Thrilled to finally share that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was in our studio with producer Will for her interview with Meghan Markle.”

Looking Forward to the Galactic Era

Last year I wrote an article on the possibility that all fantastic stories about UFOs actually turn out to be true. Since then, a lot has happened, with a drip-drop of stories in the media about the U.S. government having multiple extra-terrestrial craft in its possession, and actively trying to backward engineer them. Then there is the amazing news report from Las Vegas about a man calling 911 to report two “not human” beings in his backyard.

The most recent contribution is a compelling commentary about how financial regulators should approach the question of UFO disclosure: how do we avoid disruptive market instability?

The French Women’s Nightmare

Sexual harassment by “Maghrebi types.”

Migrants – which in France today means, overwhelmingly, maghrébins, or Muslim Arabs from North Africa — commit 48% of the rapes in Paris and 55% in Marseille. Muslims make up 10% of the French population, but more than 50% of the prison population. Recently, a feminist collective posted videos of French women for whom sexual harassment by “Maghrebi types” has become a common, and nightmarish, occurrence. More on their experiences can be found here: “‘It is always the Maghrebi types who follow, whistle at, and insult me’ – French women recount their experience with sexual harassment from foreigners,” by John Cody, Remix News, June 5, 2023 …

IMF Pushes Global Central Bank Digital Currency Platform as Cashless Trend Gains Momentum

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is working on a platform that would allow various central bank digital currencies (CBDC) to interoperate on a global scale, Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva told participants at a conference.

“CBDCs should not be fragmented national propositions … To have more efficient and fairer transactions, we need systems that connect countries—we need interoperability,” Georgieva said in Rabat, Morocco, on June 19.

“For this reason at the IMF, we are working on the concept of a global CBDC platform,” she added.

Inside Oakland, the uber-liberal US city overwhelmed by crime

Progressive drug policies have led to fentanyl use soaring, with violence rising too

Aman dressed in dirty rags emerges from “fentanyl island”, watched as he shuffles past by Seneca Scott, an Oakland native who rarely travels to this strip of blighted wasteland underneath an underpass without a Smith & Wesson at his hip.

“We don’t have rule of law in Oakland right now,” Scott says as he tours a city that is perhaps America’s most left wing, but is littered with drug encampments which have become a breeding ground for violent crime.

Alberta, Saskatchewan Premiers Won’t Implement Ottawa’s Sustainable Jobs Act

The Prairie provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan are united in their opposition to Ottawa’s sustainable jobs act and net-zero plan.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe told reporters on June 14 that his province will not be implementing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s ‘Just Transition’ legislation, as Bill C-50 has been called, and will also not be taking part in any discussions.

Canada Needs to Convene a “9/11 Commission” on China’s Election Interference

It is in America’s interest to find out the salacious details of foreign interference in democratic elections, especially when it occurs in our northern neighbor.

Unless its wildfires cause the skies in New York City to turn the color of a sci-fi dystopia, Americans tend not to think much about Canada. But you know who has not forgotten about our neighbor to the north? China’s ruler, Xi Jinping.

As part of China’s unfriendly competition with the West, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) chairman appears to have overseen a far-reaching and complicated effort to advance Beijing’s interests through direct interference in Canada’s 2019 and 2021 federal elections.

Blinken ruffles feathers by stating US ‘does not support Taiwan independence’ after meeting China’s Xi

WASHINGTON – Secretary of State Antony Blinken raised eyebrows Monday, telling reporters the US “does not support Taiwan independence” after meeting in Beijing with officials including Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Blinken’s statement ruffled the feathers of many Republicans in Congress, who viewed the statement – and the secretary’s inability to re-establish military-to-military communications – as an inappropriate kowtow to America’s greatest adversary.

Kelly McParland: Olivia Chow’s Toronto fantasy could bring progressive doom

Olivia Chow looks likely to win Toronto’s upcoming mayoral vote. She enjoys just 30 per cent support, but in a crowded field that could be enough. Chow’s platform is the same basic New Democrat theology she’s promoted for years. Canada’s biggest city has serious problems these days, lots of them. Are a familiar face and high-minded ideals enough to solve them? We’ll find out.
