The revolutionary power of heresy

Freedom of speech has toppled tyrants and propelled humanity forward. We lose it at our peril.

Words hurt, they say. This is the ideological underpinning to so much censorship today – the idea that words wound, as a punch might wound. The imagery of violence is deployed in almost every call for censure in the 21st-century West. Speech has been reimagined as aggression, hence ‘microaggressions’. People speak of feeling ‘assaulted’ by speech. ‘Words, like sticks and stones, can assault; they can injure; they can exclude’ – that’s the thesis of Words That Wound, an influential tome published in 1993. Activists claim to feel ‘erased’ by controversial or disagreeable utterances. Trans campaigners speak darkly of ‘trans erasure’, as if words from the other side of the divide, the speech of gender-critical feminists, might contain that most awesome and nullifying power of genocide.

Secession is a threat Californians should take seriously

The state’s restive interior is becoming a more influential force

At the height of the anti-Trump hysteria after 2016, Democrats in California talked often about “Calexit”, which would allow the Golden State to secede and, no doubt, form an ideal Ecotopia of its own. Now that the Democrats are in power in Washington and Sacramento, there are new calls to break up the Golden State, this time from more conservative regions in the state’s interior.

Canada: ‘Pride’ vs. Freedom

In times like these — especially during “Pride Month” — it’s uplifting to encounter someone like Bill Whatcott, who has won against a tyrannical government pushing LGBT madness.

Canada has been even more militant than the U.S. against citizens who push back against that ruthless agenda. Canada has no First Amendment. And its “Charter Rights” that should guarantee free speech are easily ignored.

Did vaccine scientist ‘thrown to his death’ have proof of Wuhan lab leak?

A Chinese military scientist who was reportedly thrown to his death from the roof of a Wuhan institute is at the centre of mounting evidence that the Covid pandemic resulted from a lab leak.

Intelligence obtained by members of the US Senate reveals that Zhou Yusen filed a patent for a Covid-19 vaccine on February 24, 2020, barely a month after China put Wuhan into lockdown because of the outbreak.

US vaccine developers told investigators that it would have been impossible to have generated the data cited in the patent so swiftly – it would have taken about three months’ work, meaning that scientists at the Wuhan Institute for Virology were secretly working on a Covid vaccine in November, two months before Beijing told the world about the pandemic.

UN Climate agency distorts science, promotes green industry lobby

The dubious “ problem” of purported global warming has become a key driver of public policy, bringing social coercion and huge capital allocations by governments and corporations across the world.

Thus, very skeptical scrutiny should be brought to bear on proposals for frantic “ urgent action” on this matter. Trillions of dollars and millions of lives are at stake, depending on their recommendations and proposals.

Joly does it again … Never Heard Of Her … Dominican Republic says it did not approve Canada’s Haiti aid office

Next up Joly will bring and end to Putin’s reign

PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) – The Dominican Republic said on Friday it did not approve the installation of a Canadian office to coordinate support for neighboring Haiti’s national police, a day after Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly announced plans to set one up this summer.

Howard Levitt: Toronto the Good is but a mirage.

On a recent Saturday night, I arrived home at 1 a.m. to find a car parked in front of my house. It’s unusual but not unheard of, and anyway this is Toronto, no big deal. I didn’t really notice it.

But when I left my own vehicle, two men jumped out of that parked car and rushed toward me, their heads and necks covered by those Dali masks from Netflix’s “Money Heist.” It seemed surreal, if macabre. Then the larger one put a 12-inch knife to my throat and demanded: “Give me your key, don’t make me do something I don’t want to have to do.”

Pierre Poilievre is about to find out if voters like him — and if his anti-Justin Trudeau strategy is working

MONTREAL—When voters go to the polls in four federal byelections spread across Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec on Monday, the results will not alter the dynamics in the House of Commons. But they will provide a reality check on some of the assumptions that underpin the strategies of the main parties.

At the time of the last federal election, the anti-vax movement was running strong. That was problematic for the Conservative party — both during and after the campaign — as the issue pit the part of its base that vehemently opposed the COVID measures against a majority of provaccination Canadians.

As a US whistle-blower raises the UFO question, perhaps it’s time the world looked for answers

Earlier this month, The Debrief, which describes itself as a platform dedicated to credible reporting on science, tech and defence news published an article about a whistle-blower who says he gave the US Congress and the Intelligence Community Inspector General extensive classified information about deeply covert programmes that he says possess retrieved craft of non-human origin.

The whistle-blower is David Charles Grusch, a former combat officer in Afghanistan and veteran of the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office. He has also filed a complaint alleging he suffered illegal retaliation for his confidential disclosures.

Interesting interview with Michael Schellenberger on why he is unafraid to risk his credibilty on the need UFO investigation.

It’s a shame what Pride has become

Joe Biden and Transvestite Lover

It’s officially what the White House calls “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, And Intersex Pride Month.” Though I’m gay, I feel something besides pride on the occasion. The socially compulsory celebration now is something to dread. It means that for the entire month of June, you’ll get to hear about the plight of transgender people, just like you do the other 11 months of the year. It also means your social media feeds have become one long rainbow, littered with tacky memes about how we must “protect trans kids” and “respect polyamorous asexuals” or whatever. Or, if you lean right (which today means anywhere to the left of Mao Zedong), you’ll see a billion posts about how Bud Light betrayed the Founding Fathers by hiring Dylan Mulvaney as a spokesperson.

Ukraine war: Putin confirms first nuclear weapons moved to Belarus

Russia has already stationed a first batch of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, Vladimir Putin says.

Russia’s president told a forum they would only be used if Russia’s territory or state was threatened.

The US government says there is no indication the Kremlin plans to use nuclear weapons to attack Ukraine.

“We don’t see any indications that Russia is preparing to use a nuclear weapon,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said after Mr Putin’s comments.

The Biden Administration’s Secret Capitulation to Iran’s Regime

In spite of strong opposition from the Congress, the Biden administration has been holding secret talks in Oman to reward the ruling mullahs of Iran with a nuclear deal that will pave the way for Iran legally to obtain as many nuclear weapons as it likes, empower the ruling mullahs with billions of dollars, lift sanctions, allow it to rejoin the global financial system and enhance the theocratic regime’s legitimacy on the global stage.
