Lack of ‘national security culture’ in Ottawa to blame for missed intel: ex-officials

Canada’s politicians need to be more proactive to responding to foreign interference by establishing a “national security culture” within the government to recognize threats when they emerge, former intelligence and security officials say.

While they believe institutions like the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) are equipped to respond to national security issues — though underfunded — very few people outside those agencies are experienced with the issue.

There is a security culture in Ottawa, the LPC is fully cooperative with Communist China.

RFK Jr. Claims He Can Beat Joe Biden in 2024 Primary

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that he believes he has a path to defeating President Joe Biden in a 2024 primary in response to claims he’s a long-shot candidate.

In a recent interview, Kennedy said, “Yes, I can win,” when asked about his chances of ousting Biden in the primary. “The public polls are showing me at 20 percent over for the Democrats,” he added, “and our private polling is showing that I have very strong support among independents and even Republicans.”

I hope he does well.

Pipeline plot twist: where Line 5 threatens nature, now nature is a threat to Line 5

The controversial Canada-U.S. oil and gas conduit known as Line 5 could be facing its toughest challenger yet: the very watershed the pipeline’s detractors are trying to protect.

Spring flooding has washed away significant portions of the riverbank where Line 5 intersects Wisconsin’s Bad River, a meandering, 120-kilometre course through Indigenous territory that feeds Lake Superior and a complex network of ecologically delicate wetlands.

This could prove disastrous.

Bad birdie! Twitter-faithful reject Musk’s CEO

Twitter users are a resilient bunch of customers. They spent the best part of a decade living under the increasingly totalitarian regime of Big Tech and its ‘community guidelines’. Entire systems of language trickery had to be created to navigate the censorial landscape where dissenters were not only assaulted by shadowy algorithms, users were erased. Never was this practice more depraved than Twitter’s removal of Big Pharma victims for the crime of reporting their injuries to the world.

The return of bad Twitter.

California state senator Steven Bradford, a member of the state’s Reparations Task Force, is warning black residents that massive reparations payments are “just not happening.”

The Democratic lawmaker’s warning comes after the task force approved a detailed plan that would see the state pay up to $1.2 million in reparations to each eligible black resident, if approved by state lawmakers.

Trust

Among the most basic factors in what we may call the “practice of daily life” is one that is most easily forgotten or commonly neglected: trust. I mean, to begin with, trust in what we habitually regard as reliable without giving it a moment’s thought, as something we rarely doubt, let alone conceptualize. We seem to have little idea of the degree to which trust determines our every move, gesture and act. Trust, as James Bowman observes of honor in Honor: A History, is “reflexive” and at its core “inseparable from the human condition.”

Who are the real ‘Involuntary Celibate Violent Extremists’?

Most of the six million–plus illegal aliens who have entered the U.S. under the Biden Regime are young, unattached single males who speak only Spanish and are illiterate, impoverished, and lack vocational skills, making assimilation extremely challenging. They are low-status males who may never be able to have sex, find romance, or start a family. Condemned to bachelorhood, with nothing to live for and nothing to lose, they are tailor-made to form violent criminal gangs like MS-13.

You Are Not Destined to Live in Quiet Times

Humanity’s third major technological revolution is leading us into a future more promising and also more dangerous than any since the dawn of history. It’s coming faster than you think.

The COVID pandemic and the rise of AI have something in common. Between them, they have upended one of the most consequential debates among American tech analysts, and largely refuted the claim that progress in America was coming to an end—that the Adams curve was flattening out as a Great Stagnation cooled the dynamism of American life.

The case for stagnation was a strong one. Current technologies, advocates warned, were providing diminishing returns, and productivity growth in American life was slowing. The regulatory burden on innovation in the United States inexorably grew. Compared with the optimism that accompanied earlier innovations like electricity, indoor plumbing, the internal combustion engine, antibiotics, refrigeration, and mass communications, Americans in the internet age seemed noticeably more risk averse and pessimistic about the future.

Rashida Tlaib Poses Danger to America

Both Democrats and Republicans have recognized that Israel stabilizes and fortifies the powder keg called the Middle East. For the past 75 years since the establishment of the modern State of Israel this has been true. America needs Israel and Israel needs America. It is for all practical purposes a mutual admiration society.

How Multiculturalism Toppled Rome

From Britain to the Middle East, Rome enjoyed support from vast numbers of people who had a stake in its success, even though their ancestors were not originally Roman or even Italian.

Nearly 2,000 years ago, the Roman emperor Gaius assembled a massive invasion force and marched it across Europe to the English Channel. The elite of the greatest army in the world, along with a massive array of siege engines, drew up in battle formation along the shore, awaiting orders. Mounting a platform, Gaius commanded the trumpets to sound and then issued the orders: “Gather shells!” The soldiers frantically scrambled around the beach to fill their helmets with seashells. Gaius then erected a monument to celebrate this “victory against the sea” and transported the “booty” a thousand miles back to Rome for a triumphal march.

Berlin: Two Antisemitic Attacks Per Day in 2022

Newly published figures from the Research and Information Center on Antisemitism (RIAS) in Berlin have revealed that in Germany’s capital city, which percentage-wise hosts one of the largest Muslim populations of any major European capital, more than two antisemitic attacks per day were recorded in 2022.

In its report titled “Antisemitic Incidents in Berlin in 2022,” published on Wednesday, May 10th, RIAS Berlin, which kept track of all antisemitic incidents across all districts, social classes, and political orientations, recorded 848 anti-Jewish incidents of physical and verbal nature, a total which amounts to 2.3 incidents per day, the daily Berliner Zeitung reports.

One incident of extreme violence, 21 assaults, 31 targeted property damage, 24 threats, and 751 incidents of abusive behavior involving, among other things, 36 gatherings and 20 mass mailings were among the 848 antisemitic incidents that were recorded last year, the organization states in its report.

Mendicino concedes there could be new ‘Chinese police stations’ in Canada, insists RCMP will shut them down

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino concedes there may be new so-called “Chinese police stations” in Canada after saying last month they’d all been shut down, but he insists the RCMP will close any new sites if they do exist.

The Spanish human rights organization Safeguard Defenders said last fall it had identified more than 100 of these alleged Chinese overseas police stations, including several in Canada. The groups says these stations serve to spy on Chinese dissidents in Canada and abroad and collect information about opponents to the regime in Beijing, under the guise of providing resources to Chinese people living abroad.

Could be? That’s the answer you’d expect from a CCP compromised government.
