No Money, No Nukes: Time to Bankrupt China’s Regime

“We are probably not going to be able to do anything to stop, slow down, disrupt, interdict, or destroy the Chinese nuclear development program that they have projected out over the next 10 to 20 years,” said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley on March 29 at a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee. “They’re going to do that in accordance with their own plan.”

Milley is wrong about China’s nuclear weapons ambitions. He is, unfortunately, expressing the same pessimism that pervaded the Nixon, Ford and Carter years, when the American foreign policy establishment took the Soviet Union as a given and therefore promoted détente.

Ultra-rich have influence over our government . . . no, not that one

US media went ballistic over Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ until-now-unreported vacationing courtesy of his host, longtime family friend, GOP megadonor and Texas real-estate billionaire Harlan Crow.

But that reminds us again of how little the press takes note of the influence of a far more consequential multibillionaire, George Soros.

For what it’s worth, Thomas explains that the rules didn’t require him to disclose those trips until recently, and he will going forward.

‘They’re starting to die’: fears Ukraine’s drone supremacy may soon be over

Crouching in a freezing basement or risking it all on top of a nine-storey building, the drone squads in the war zone of Bakhmut are ubiquitous. Some are forced to lurk a few hundred metres from, or even on, the frontline. Without them, Ukraine’s efforts to hold on to the embattled city would be much harder, perhaps impossible.

But the concern for Ukraine, according to three frontline drone operators deployed in the city over the winter, is that the Russians are close to countering the most popular models in operation, those made by the Chinese manufacturer DJI. “They’re adept and they are manufacturing these special jamming systems,” said Yaroslav, 31.

This Tibetan-Canadian activist has been sounding the alarm on Chinese interference for years

From what I can tell, China has done a superb job intimidating emigres in Canada.

Nobody I reached out to in the Alberta business or research community wants to talk about intimidation by Beijing — on the record — except for one. He’s Nima Dorjee, a Tibetan-Canadian who has been raising the alarm bells for decades now on China’s interference. He has an axe to grind, or maybe an axe to hone.

Transsexual, 44, elects to die by euthanasia after botched sex-change operation turned him into a ‘monster’

A Belgian transsexual has chosen to die by euthanasia after a botched sex change operation to complete his transformation into a man left him a ‘monster’.

Nathan Verhelst, 44, died yesterday afternoon after being allowed to have his life ended on the grounds of ‘unbearable psychological suffering’.

It is understood to be the first time someone in Belgium has chosen euthanasia after a sex-change, and comes soon after it emerged that it is now the cause of nearly one in 50 deaths in the country.

Sam Bankman-Fried ‘joked’ about Alameda Research losing $50M: ‘Such is life’

Sam Bankman-Fried allegedly joked about his doomed hedge fund Alameda Research losing track of as much as $50 million in assets, telling another executive: “Such is life.”

“Alameda is unauditable” and “hilariously beyond any threshold of any auditor being able to even get partially through an audit,” Bankman-Fried wrote in an email about the now-defunct Alameda that was cited in court papers by FTX.

This is bad, a former senior employee who resigned on principle details his ignored warnings to SBF and his insider cronies.

Toronto’s mayoral race has begun and experts predict it’s about to get fiery

The first week of Toronto’s mayoral byelection was packed with campaign events and policy proposals, but experts predict that will give way to fiery attacks as candidates fight to gain ground.

The official campaign is less than a week old and it’s already drawn a pack of over 30 contenders to replace John Tory. But experts closely following city politics say that no one has the name recognition of Toronto’s former mayor. That means they’ll need to spend big and make bold policy statements to get on the radar of voters.

Study: Catastrophic Climate Predictions Fail to Shift Attitudes

A simulation based on apocalyptic images designed to highlight “the disastrous effects of climate change” had the opposite impact on those who viewed it and failed to shift attitudes, a study from Singapore Management University details.

I am of an age to have witnessed the alleged threats of mass starvation, a new ice age and acid rain quashed by reality.

Climate change aka global warming is just the latest scam by the watermelon elite to plunder & enslave us.

How police say a peaceful, Indigenous-led protest over a B.C. pipeline was hijacked by violent outsiders

A security guard was swarmed in a truck near a worksite by a group of people in masks and camouflage firing flare guns. He was then forced to flee into the dead of night, while the assailants escaped.

When the RCMP released those details last week about a recent incident along the Coastal GasLink pipeline project near Houston, B.C., they could have copied and pasted them from a news release they issued more than a year ago.

But that’s where the comparison ends.

BUT WHITE SUPREMACISTS ARE THE REAL THREAT!

When Mounties Pose as Mobsters, Some Canadians Cry Foul

A con game that undercover police use to obtain confessions in Canada secures convictions, but opponents say it’s a breeding ground for false confessions.

The police were hot on his trail for two murders and when pressured by the leader of his new gang to explain what he’d done, Trestan Brown confided in her. He figured he could trust her. She was, after all, a fellow criminal.

“Be up front with me and I’ll take care of you,” the gang leader, Steph, told Mr. Brown in a hotel room along the lakefront of Kingston, Ontario, according to court records.

So Mr. Brown, who is now 30, confessed, describing his role in the 2016 shooting deaths of two men in the Toronto area — and soon found himself under arrest.

‘Liberals in trouble’ over China’s attempted meddling in Canadian elections, say pollsters

The China interference story has ‘long legs, and some twists and turns.’ The Liberals should be ‘quite concerned because if the current Conservative advantage consolidates and the longer the numbers stay here, it becomes the new normal, and it will require more effort to dislodge the trend line,’ says pollster Nik Nanos.
