Groomed to Kill

The massacre in Nashville is not the fault of conservatives, it is the bitter fruit of a madness that has poisoned an entire generation.

After the horrific massacre in Nashville, the Democratic Party is hellbent on feeding the malignant narcissism of the “trans community,” in which they see a reliable, perpetually aggrieved voter base and a tool with which to terrorize society.

This isn’t “Christian nationalism.” Virtually every institution is sending a message that murderous violence toward Christians is acceptable, or at least less bad than exposing the “trans community” to obloquy. Law enforcement is obstructing the release of the manifesto. Merrick Garland won’t call it a hate crime, and neither will Joe Biden, who apparently thinks this is all a big joke.

There were two Stephen Harpers — and Pierre Poilievre is getting advice from the wrong one

Erin O’Toole, the former Conservative party leader, has exited federal politics in mild disagreement with his old boss, Stephen Harper.

While both men agree that the Conservatives are headed back to power, they aren’t exactly in sync on how that will happen.

O’Toole said in his resignation statement on Friday: “The Conservative party is the party of Confederation and I know it will return to government offering the hope and ideas our country so desperately needs.”

Interim RCMP commissioner Duheme ‘very concerned’ about foreign interference

As questions continue to swirl around the issue of other countries’ meddling in Canadian affairs, interim RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme says he’s “very, very concerned” about foreign interference, and would like to see the national force be able to use intelligence as evidence in its investigations.

In an interview on CTV’s Question Period with Vassy Kapelos airing on Sunday, Duheme was asked if, given all that has recently been alleged regarding China interfering in federal elections and the years of warnings from various national security agencies, he thinks a public inquiry is warranted.

FUREY: As Mayor of Toronto, I will say no to the push for new taxes

Right now there’s a lot of talk at Toronto City Hall about creating new taxes to levy against Toronto residents and taxpayers.

This is unacceptable. It’s got to stop.

It’s been a privilege for me to be a newspaper columnist for more than a decade in this city that I love so much, but I’m now switching gears and running to be mayor of Toronto because I want to tackle these sorts of problems head on.

For Left, Political Ends Justify Violent Means

A transgender Tennessee mass shooter this week executed three adults and three 9-year-old children at a Nashville private Christian school.

Supposedly, she left behind her a manifesto justifying her mass killing. As of this writing, law enforcement officials have declined to make the document public.

Yet in about a nanosecond after the news was disclosed, the left-wing activist machine kicked in, led by politicians, entertainers, and the media.

What happened to the American city?

This is the only country where I have actually wondered: will these cities ever recover?

They’re calling it “revenge travel”: the desire to make up for the touring opportunities we all lost when we were locked down in our pandemical homes. As a keen professional traveler, I confess I’ve got a fearsome case of this bug: I’ve spent the past twenty months going just about anywhere I can, playing catch up.

Beyond Race

Sixty years on, the ethnic model described in Beyond the Melting Pot merits revisiting

In October 2022, Los Angeles’s ethnic politics cost city council president Nury Martinez her job. In leaked audio, Martinez can be heard discussing the city’s redistricting with two other Hispanic councilmembers and a Hispanic labor leader. In what she would later claim was a moment of frustration, Martinez called fellow council member Mike Bonin’s adopted son a “monkey”—Bonin is white, the son is black—and condemned Los Angeles district attorney George Gascón: “Fuck that guy, he’s with the blacks.”

Lazarus Heist: The intercontinental ATM theft that netted $14m in two hours

Imagine you’re a low-wage worker in India who is offered a day’s employment as an extra in a Bollywood film. Your role? To go to a cash point and withdraw some money.

In 2018, several men in Maharashtra state thought they were accepting a bit-part in a movie – but in fact they were being tricked into being money mules, collecting cash in an ambitious bank heist.

The raid took place over a weekend in August 2018, and centred on Cosmos Co-operative bank, which has its headquarters in Pune.

On a quiet Saturday afternoon, staff in the bank’s head office suddenly received a string of alarming messages.

Thanks to Biden Administration, Iran’s Mullahs Winners of Russia Invasion of Ukraine

“President Biden’s leadership is non-existent…. Look at what’s happening right now with unemployment — eight million jobs are unfilled right now, and President Biden just ushered through a partisan bill to pay people billions of dollars not to work when eight million jobs are unfilled right now. We’re paying people not to work, and they’re borrowing money from our kids and our grandkids to do it…. We’re seeing inflation starting to go through the roof. Our country is less secure. Look at what’s happening around the world — the Middle East, Iran — who the President wants to let back into an agreement to get a nuclear weapon. [The Iranians are] helping funnel these bombs that are being shot into Israel. I mean where is the President’s leadership on any of these crises?” – US Rep. Steve Scalise, Fox News, May 2021.

Canada police arrest ‘pedophile hunting’ group over child abuse images

Police in Canada have arrested members of a vigilante “pedophile-hunting” group, charging them with distribution of child abuse images, amid frustration over the group’s controversial tactics.

Quebec police announced on Thursday that six people had been arrested as part of an investigation into a group that had drawn complaints from the public.

Five of the suspects, all in their mid-to-late 20s, face charges of distributing the images, with some also charged with criminal harassment, intimidation and forcible confinement.

Right-wing extremists in Germany’s judiciary?

“Rechte Richter” (“Right-Wing Judges”; no English edition so far) is a book published in 2022 by journalist and trained lawyer Joachim Wagner. Its subtitle asks the question: “A danger to the rule of law?”

Wagner is referring to cases like that of Jens Maier, who was a member of Germany’s parliament, the Bundestag, for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party between 2017 and 2021. After his spell in parliament, he wanted to return to his post as a judge in the eastern state of Saxony.

This, however, didn’t happen, because Saxony’s Justice Minister Katja Meier took the matter to court and was successful: Maier, categorized as a right-wing extremist by Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), was sent into early retirement. The verdict is not yet final, however, because the suspended judge can appeal the decision.

They are literally insane

There are still a few sane academics in America, but they are a dying breed.

Critical theory has so invaded the academic world that there is almost no point in trying to have a conversation with a university professor. It’s not that they are just wrong about what they believe and what they spout. It’s that they don’t believe that there is an underlying concrete reality that exists outside their own heads.
