Klaus Schwab says whoever controls AI, metaverse ‘will be the master of the world’

World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab said that whoever masters technologies like AI, the metaverse, and synthetic biology will “in some way be the master of the world.”

“[…] Artificial Intelligence, but not only Artificial Intelligence, but also the metaverse, new space technologies, and I could go on and on… synthetic biology,” Schwab said. “Our life will in ten years from now will be completely different, very much affected, and who masters those technologies – in some way – will be the master of the world.”

I bet Klaus got paid for doing a shout-out for Zuckerberg’s doomed meta-verse.

War in Ukraine: Why Russia has failed to conquer the skies

President Putin has sacrificed thousands of tanks and tens of thousands of men in an effort to grind Ukraine into submission. Yet so far he has appeared reluctant to use planes and helicopters to win the battle for the skies.

Barrages of cruise and ballistic missiles have been the main way Putin has sought to press the Russian aerial advantage, while holding his expensive aircraft in reserve. A Russian SU-35 fighter typically costs about £35 million.

The SU-25 Soviet era ground attack fighter-bomber pictured has not fared especially well to date with numerous reports of shoot-downs.

Ohio residents demand answers two weeks after toxic chemical train derailment

Hundreds of residents of the Ohio village upended by a freight train derailment and the subsequent burning of some of the hazardous chemicals on board, have questioned officials over potential health hazards.

Norfolk Southern, the rail operator, did not join Wednesday night’s meeting in East Palestine – which was billed as an open house gathering with local, state and federal officials – because of concerns for their staff’s safety.

“Unfortunately, after consulting with community leaders, we have become increasingly concerned about the growing physical threat to our employees … around this event stemming from the increasing likelihood of the participation of outside parties,” the railway said in a statement.

Quebec premier wants Trudeau to discourage asylum seekers from coming to Canada

Quebec Premier François Legault called on Trudeau on Wednesday to discourage the migrants who have been using Roxham Road from coming to Canada. He told reporters in Quebec City he thinks many people are claiming asylum in Canada because of a 2017 Trudeau tweet saying the country would welcome people fleeing persecution.

“It’s about time that Justin Trudeau makes a new tweet to say, ‘Don’t come anymore,’ because we’ve exceeded our welcoming capacity,” he said. He added that Quebec faces a shortage of housing and its schools and hospitals cannot handle the newcomers.

Minister Denies Being Influenced by McKinsey On Immigration Targets

Sean Fraser – almost certainly lying.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser told the House of Commons government operations committee on Feb. 15 that the involvement of consulting firm McKinsey & Company in his department had no influence on how he determined immigration targets for the country.

“I don’t have a relationship with representatives of McKinsey or Dominic Barton, if anybody had been curious,” Fraser said.

“The company had not advised me directly or influenced the decision-making about our immigration levels plan.”

He’s a Liberal which is the same as saying he’s a compulsive liar.

Unknown ‘best friend’ called 911 after finding Idaho student Ethan Chapin murdered — not roommate Dylan Mortensen

The best friend of one of the murdered University of Idaho students found his pal stabbed to death in bed then called 911, rather than one of the surviving two roommates in the house, according to a report.

NewsNation reported Wednesday that Ethan Chapin was found dead in bed with his girlfriend Xana Kernodle by a longtime buddy, who went as far to check his pulse before calling 911, according to their sources.

Chapin and Kernodle, both 20, were killed on Nov. 13 in a knife attack along with friends Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, at their off-campus home is Moscow, Idaho.

Odd, not sure it means anything that this was not corrected by anyone in the know.
